My collection currently sits at 145 pieces, so I apparently have a way to go before I can compete with some of the other collectors here! How do you guys have the space for >200 pieces? Of course, it probably doesn’t help that my favourite sculpts are on the large size, like Emperors and Old Warriors.
I’d be down for some simple natural colors like bay or chestnut with white, as well as jewel tones like Natasha suggested. How awesome would “violet bay” or “glacier palomino” be?
November 13, 2019 at 1:43 pm in reply to: Please Help Windstone Support a Marketing Class at OSU #1587567I completed the survey. I made a spreadsheet of all my Windstones, so I knew exactly how many I have, which made me wonder, how did I amass so many?!
I’m curious to see what conclusions or advice this marketing class will develop for Windstone Editions.
I absolutely love most of the ponycorns in the video. I kept going, “ooh, I like that one, and that one, and that one…” Lol, I’m an easy mark for safari patterns. The only ones I’m less keen on are the pintos and the ones with a mix of spots and stripes.
I do hope Melody paints some giraffes and antelopes too. Anything with a gemsbok pattern becomes an automatic grail for me.
Aww, all curled up. So cute, Bodine.
Ahhh, safari ponycorns! I’m so excited for these. Safari patterns are my favourite.
November 1, 2019 at 6:35 am in reply to: Sir Garlen the Horned Rebel Wolf will be restocked soon #1585696I’m glad that he’s offered with several eye options, since some people seem to like the higher contrast of light eyes, while I prefer dark eyes. I snagged an orange-eyed Sir Garlen with this latest restock. 🙂
What a spectacular unicorn! Melody has been extra generous lately with these raffle pieces.
That little zebra’s markings remind me of a baby tapir. I wonder if it’s some kind of ancestral pattern, since both equids and tapirs are perissodactyls. Maybe the foal’s pattern will change as it grows like baby tapirs do.
Drag0nfeathers, I got the Prime 1 dog alien deluxe maquette from Sideshow. Aliens and Windstones are definitely my main two collections. I’d love to see your custom Alien statues; maybe send me a PM and we can show off our Alien stuff without derailing the thread here. 🙂
Kim, that’s a terrific pink/teal collection! Even with all those different sculpts, they look so good together with that unifying color palette.
I live in a medium sized apartment and I am a ravenous collector of too many things, so I’ve just had to learn to live with boxes everywhere. I should definitely get a storage locker for them. In the meantime, I’ve got a closet that is absolutely full of Windstone boxes that I have masterfully 3D Tetris’d, and boxes on lower bookshelves that don’t make for good display spaces anyways. I recently got a huge Alien statue that came in a box that’s big enough for me to fit comfortably in. That was fun to try to store unobtrusively, lol.
I should really make an effort to review my collection and sell everything I don’t love, but eh *shrug*.
That’s so weird that everyone else has to go through these elaborate checks just to log in. All I have to do is click a checkbox that says “I’m not a robot”, and that’s it!
This one isn’t a new acquisition, but I have the rising spectral dragon in Cosmic Shift, which is a grail for me. When I first saw the cosmic shift test paints, I knew I wanted one, but I was waiting for the right sculpt. Then the rising spectral got listed and I knew it was the one. But for whatever reason, I either forgot to bid in time or underbid, and I sorely regretted missing out. Cut to several months later, and guess who showed up in the Windstone classifieds. You better believe I didn’t let him get away a second time. 🙂
I keep arguing with myself over the Halloween-themed fat cats.
“I love black and orange together!” “But you don’t collect seasonal-themed things.”
“But I don’t have a fat cat pebble!” “That’s because you don’t collect the cat pebbles.”
“They’re only small pebbles, they won’t cost that much.” “You’ve already spent too much on collectibles this year.”
“But but but, I want one!” *beleaguered sigh*What can I say? I’m weak. XD
October 2, 2019 at 12:44 pm in reply to: A Large Collection Will Be For Sale Over The Coming Months #1581175That chipmunk unicorn is a hoot. I’m really enjoying seeing all these blast-from-the-past test paints afresh.
