I haven’t done GBS in anything larger than a Young uni- they are expensive enough! Plus the bigger the piece, the more it costs people to swap and ship them. But I’d love to do larger things.
Not ‘mother unicorn’ size, but on the subject of larger-than-Pebble GB sculpts, I must note that if you ever feel the urge to try your hand at a batch of GB Young Dragons, I’d be tempted! It’s one of the sculpts I really like, though I only have one right now. If there was a fantasy GB with some pretty blue Youngs in the bunch, I’d probably go for it in hopes of getting a companion for my blue test paint OW. He needs a young protege. 🙂
The Young’s still shorter than the Sitting Ori, I think, so that seems still within the reasonable size limit. (Though I have had the occasional wistful thought about GB Lap Dragons, hahaha!)

Funny how different everyone is….I also have a limited budget with even less space, and I keep adding the least-likely sculptures to my collection! Never thought I would own another OW, until Citrus came along. I never EVER thought I would collect Young Unicorns, and I have one on the way. It’s amazing what the right colours do.

And I keep telling myself I’m limiting the sculpts I collect (outside of “everything Western in White”), and then I turn around and three Pebble Fennecs have appeared. “Didn’t I have a rule that I was only going to collect one fox sculpt?” I ask myself in bewilderment. “I’m sure that five Sitting Red Foxes should have been enough foxes for any sensible person.” Then I realize the problem: I am not particularly sensible!

This is a conundrum I’m still trying to answer!
My house is tiny, my attic is tinier, and I have this problem where I love L A R G E sculpts the most… 🙂 Right now most of the boxes are stacked in my attic in the farthest corner with a flat floor, but I’m honestly thinking about putting some hooks in my attic beams over the unfloored part and hanging 55-gal bags of boxes from them, because other things need the floorspace more!

I pretty much have to love both, or at least love one and not mind the other. With a limited budget (and limited display space), I rarely buy pieces if they’re not one of sculpts I already know I like, and definitely not if they’re a color I’m not enthralled by.
I’m pretty strongly drawn toward more old-school, single-color paintjobs, and usually I prefer cool colors, so that helps screen out a lot of things right there. 🙂 The two-tone look just isn’t for me, which my wallet appreciates though my heart sometimes regrets. (There have been things I *want* to love, but just couldn’t find them to my taste!)
I have one “color collection” – the White color on almost every Western dragon sculpt – and a couple “color must-have” pieces, like the Obsidian Frost OW and Overcast Lap, pieces whose colors are right up my alley and are featured on sculpts I love. I also have a couple of “conga collections” – a sculpt I love, in all the colors I love. (Lots of colors are not featured in my congas, because I don’t like them enough! I’m a selective conga collector rather than a ‘completionist’ conga collector.)
So far I’ve managed to stay away from hoofers, except for my kirin family (**shoves a random PYO unicorn in a closet**), and I haven’t picked up any poads or gargoyles, but every now and then a crack appears in my resolve and suddenly there’s another sculpt I now collect. 🙂 I started with zero Pebbles, and then came the Sitting Red Fox GB and now I have 5 Pebble foxes. I started with 0 Cougars, and then I got two, and now I have six… but I’m trying hard to draw the line and not add any more sculpts, because I’m running out of room! I’d rather concentrate on the ones I love most, and hold out for the colors I love most, so that I can see all of them on a daily basis instead of having some packed away.

Ahhhh, a new Striped Orchid piece! It’s been a while; I had been wondering if there weren’t going to be any more.
Armored Peacock is interesting, and I would like to encourage the trend toward more monochrome color schemes. 🙂
I didn’t notice it on the other pieces, but looking at the Forest fledgling made me realize this color is basically the inverse of Muddy Belly! 🙂 Whoever wins it, please take a picture of him with an MB fledgling if possible; it’d be so cute to compare them!

I love them so much – and between the flufftailed scaredy-cats and the sleek prowling cats I’m not sure I could pick which is my favorite – but there’s nothing in my house they go with. No other fat cats, no other Pebble cats at all aside from cougars, and no orange-and-black, and I can’t justify the expense this month, either.
I’m just going to admire everyone’s pictures, play ‘which one is my fave,’ and hope that maybe next year we’ll get silvery “moonlight” Lady Cats like the one in the Squeaks thread….

Adding to the enthusiasm here, as someone with five Kitty Griffins in her collection: I would LOVE a Snerl sculpt! I’ve always adored four-pawed griffins; the world needs more of them. 🙂
I’d also really love to see Snerl patches, because I collect embroidered patches and after seeing the Poad patches a few years ago I can’t stop imagining Windstone patches with Snerl (with or without the company name too)!

Golds and greens (with gold dusted all over). I’m leaning towards “Forest Sentinel” right now.
Oooh, this one makes me think of the poem: Nature’s first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold so I’m going to say New Leaf or Spring Forest.
Light gold, very bright orange and deep purple.
I can’t decide if it looks more like fire, or like tropical fruits! Fire Glow? Sunberry?
Light blue chest, turquoise, then spine and stripes in silver/green colorshift with dark green dusted over and dark crimson between the stripes.
Nifty! The coloring makes me think of an exotic reef fish, or a tree boa, so… Boa? Sea Serpent? Moray? I like pipsxlch’s suggestion of Sea Snake, too.
Hard to photograph these guys! Kind of mermaidy color, blue with interference green.
Call this one GIMME TWENTY! 🙂 How about Sea Splash or Shallow Water?
