someone is posting about CBD bars in the announcement forum….asking us to be reviewers and other such weird things….
also another weirdly worded sounds spammy posting in the Classified ads and paypal payments – Please read if you are a buyer or a seller thread….
I got rid of the spammer that replied to the Classified Ads and Paypayl Payments thread, but I don’t see the other. Maybe someone else got rid of them before I could! Thanks for letting us know.

My art: featherdust.comThanks so much for taking note of this problem! It looks like Clay is going to look into it (which is great, I actually don’t know how to do it): https://windstoneeditions.com/forums/topic/new-website-concerns/page/43/

My art: featherdust.comOf note, Facebook has changed how they work. Even on public pages (such as the official Windstone account), if one is not logged into Facebook, you can only see the very top of the page. If you try to scroll down much at all, it block you and only offers you the option to log in or sign up. It is hard to scroll far unless you are logged in. Technically, you can ignore their giant popup and scroll anyway, but it’s extremely hard to see the page and is very discouraging from seeing the actual content of the page. As someone that does not use Facebook too often, it is a very real hurdle, especially if someone does not have an account. This might be important to remember for Windstone!

My art: featherdust.comIf you are looking for a good way to donate funds raised by selling PYOs, I know that most not-for-profit organizations are suffering right now as many of them depend on events to raise funds. Our little nonprofit nature center, for example, raises funds via attendance to nature events, all of which were rightfully cancelled, and has struggled to even make basic funds during this time. Wildlife rehabilitation is another good example. I bet you could find some really worthwhile organizations or individuals in need of help, wherever you live. 🙂

My art: featherdust.comI removed it, though now we have this new thread also! It’s best just to email one of us directly if possible.

My art: featherdust.comYep– definitely not a Windstone, but possibly inspired by one.

My art: featherdust.comWhenever possible, I try to shop from the source/manufacturer/author/artist (etc). It is less convenient, but I think we tend to sacrifice a lot for convenience. I usually get better customer service this way too, and when it’s a small seller, they actually get all the money. For secondhand items, I try to find smaller, independent shops. Many now have online shops.
It’s impossible to do it for everything, but often I have good success. You can use Amazon to “window shop” then see if the item you want is available directly from the seller via an independent website.

My art: featherdust.comMy parents own a bar/grill up in Wisconsin and serve food. They opened for the public again tonight after a several week cessation (they were doing carry out orders through a small window for several weeks, but that was limited contact). They’re trying to do as much social distancing and sanitation as possible but…if I’m going to be frank and a little uncouthe…I’m scared shitless for them. Neither of my parents are in great health and smoke like chimneys. I have extreme anxiety/depression and between this and some other issues going on my anxiety is through the absolute roof right now.
I’m so sorry to hear this. I really feel your anxiety on this one! If you ever need someone to talk to please let me know. I’m scared for my parents, too.

My art: featherdust.comWith all due respect Jennifer,I was in the same room when that member bragged about busting MY dragon up.
I was in the same room when that member slung lies about my husband/personal life.
You removed the post but they were seen, copied and spread around what about my reputation here of 12yrs.With all due respect.Yes, those posts that I removed absolutely broke the rules and I removed them. I too have screen shots. I am not quite sure what I could have done differently other than time travel back and prevent them from being posted. I cannot control the actions of others, but can indeed remove the comments that clearly were not acceptable. Yours were borderline, so instead of removing them, I shared a general reminder about our forum and how we have always tried to handle this; I try really hard to moderate with a “light touch”. There are some that have complained that I should moderate more heavily, and others that complain when I moderate anything at all. There is not a situation that pleases everyone and it is a tough thing to try to be as unbiased as possible. Normally I would send a private message with this comment, but I want to be transparent right now with everyone about how I moderate. I have been part of this community since we were just an informal Livejournal group in 2006 and I always try my very best to be fair. I appreciate and respect this community and its members very much… it is not hyperbole when I say this is the best long-term collectibles community I’ve been part of.
These days I do not always check the forum every day or even every week unless someone lets me know that there is a problem, as life has changed for me over the years and I only do this as a volunteer now (I started out as a contracted employee but that hasn’t been the case in many years). I do apologize that I don’t always catch everything. I am not trying to single anyone out at all but remind everyone to please use care when airing grievances. If you have concerns or anything, please feel free to email me. As far as the very specific situation that warranted this bit of moderation, however, concerns should be discussed with John Alberti as I handed it off to him some days ago.
Again, and this message is to everyone: if you need to discuss this you can send me a message. We now return to our regular “Whine is Served”…

My art: featherdust.comI should have caught this before (my apologies, truly), but I also ask that if anyone has a deal go bad with a forum member (or any sort of altercation), that one follows the appropriate routes to have it resolved. Posting about a forum member that one is having a disagreement with, with enough details to figure it out (even if not using their actual name), can be considered baiting! Please don’t do this. Keep it more vague or post a general rant about hating being ripped off. The forum rules about this have always been intended to keep our community from dissolving into personal arguments. It is okay to be frustrated and grump about stuff here, but when the person you are grumping about is in the same “room”, even if you do not use their name, please consider our rules and be thoughtful.

My art: featherdust.comNamed personal grievances about sales gone wrong, no matter who is right or wrong, are not allowed on the forum per our long-standing forum rules.

My art: featherdust.comCool, well, Windstone is not a state/government actor and as such can set its own rules for its own forums. In no way does this infringe upon personal liberties. If one feels otherwise, I recommend doing some research on free speech on privately owned platforms.
This “chick” is now locking replies until the situation is resolved.
EDIT, July 2020: The thread is now open again but please do heed my warnings about forum conduct, thank you all so much.

My art: featherdust.comThank you everyone for sending me messages, I am very sorry that I wasn’t able to get to a computer yesterday. Please remember we have rules against name calling, threatening, or harassing other forum members. In addition to the rules, I plead with everyone to try to be kind during these hard times. Many of us are facing hardships and stress unlike any faced in the living memory of most people here and I know it can make for a lot of tension. Clearly, some things have gone sour when dealing with sales/trades and that really bites, I’m sorry. Windstone has provided a space for collectors to trade and sell with one another as it is clearly an important part of a collector’s community, however, as stated in the many disclaimers:
It is vitally important to stress this list is user-generated and user-hosted. It does not reflect upon the opinions of anyone at Windstone Editions. It is unofficial and must not be mistaken as a Windstone Editions endorsed list. All content on the list, which is not hosted on our servers, remains the opinion and property of the individuals that contributed. By viewing or using this list, you understand that at no time is Windstone Editions involved in its creation, content, or maintenance.
Any complaints, questions, and/or problems with said list need to be directed to the parties involved and not to Windstone Editions (in whole or part).
As the disclaimer says, this is 100% unofficial and has nothing to do with Windstone Editions, the company. We have had nothing to do with the creation nor maintenance of the list. If anyone has beef about anything on the list, don’t take it up with us (the people at Windstone Editions) as it has nothing to do with us. It is simply a feedback template for you guys, the collectors.
In short: Please do not contact us (Windstone) about suggestions, complaints, or comments this user-generated list.
This said, it is still against the rules to harass, threaten, name-call, or badmouth (etc) other users via this forum or PM.
