Jennifer, what type of paint did you use on the spandex gloves? Any particular mediums used in addition to the paint? I ask because I’m working on humanoid rat hands/toes for a costume for next week and want to add shading and definition to the ‘skin’.
I’ll post pictures after con. It’s a known character, but I’ll wait until I post photos (or drag0nfeathers will beat me to it… I’m behind in getting anything posted online anywhere :P).
I’ve seen video of Qaw in action. Wonderfully portrayed corvid! I love your masks! I need an excuse to make a dino, bird, or griffin of some sort. Maybe NYCC or something…

Firefox, IE, and Chrome browsers – laptop
I’ll play around with a few browsers on my computer and my phone tonight to try and pinpoint bugs.
Maybe!
The curlies were a more muted color and didn’t have the metallic/sparkles in the color. Totally different variation. I have one, but I don’t think I got one of each version (probably saw no need to).
There’s a red fire secret keeper! *faint* So many beatuties!
It’s called ‘Red Gold’ and they were painted for ebay by Olimpia, who was Windstone’s head painter for a number of years when they resided in North Hollywood, CA. So much more luscious in person than Red Fire *cough personal experience cough* 🙂
Whoops! My mistake. 😛 Thanks for the info. Upon second look, it does appear to have a deeper red coloration. Oh, do you have a red gold too? 😀
Oh, no worries. The production color was Red Fire. I figure most of the more recent members of the forum wouldn’t know. These predated the Red Fire production color when Windstone was working out the color that was in production. Just like the Red Fire curlies (which looked different from these SKs and the Red Fire production color, and even between the two batches of curlies done).
I might have one. 😉 *she’s watching the conga of tomatoes on the vines*

February 13, 2016 at 9:48 pm in reply to: color shift GB baby kirin show off thread – 02/10/2016 #941767ahoffer, yours is one of my favorite from the batch! There were only a few silvery ones in the batch and those were the only ones who really interested me. Thanks for showing him off! 🙂
My pegasus arrived early this afternoon, but I was working straight out most of the day and couldn’t get a good photo before dark. Mine is the one in the top right corner of the teenie tiny class photo. It is white and black with an interesting pattern, but with all the rainbow sparkle paint, it shows as more dark silvery grey and the white looks very lightly silver. Metallic light blue eyes, teal stones in the necklace, and the wing spots on the underside and back look blue, but shift to purple and green. Very lovely!
I’m pretty happy with this little pegasi! Here are the photos:

I’ll try to get photos in the morning if I can, or when possible this week. Depends on lighting and weather mostly.

mini keeper dragons
curled dragon (very small batch)
lucky llama (very small batch)
Various pebbles:
-tanuki
-sitting fox

-bat eared fox
-arctic fox

-fat cat
-lady catLove the cute little garter snake coiled! I love garter snakes! If it was a common garter, I’d be all over it. I have a soft spot for those, since they regularly visit my yard… they just don’t like when I spot them and try to take photos of them! I think the coiled mail dragons lend themselves very well to snake and elongated lizard and serpent patterns.
I shall claim to have a say, the lovely, sunny month of May…

PYO Forum thread <- Most updated and accurate
PYO Gallery <- Updating!January 22, 2016 at 6:45 pm in reply to: Report Windstone Fakes/Knock offs/Infringment Pls read first #940336It looks legit, but it looks like it may have been exposed to the outside or some other environment to cause a bit of wear and tear to the actual sculpt. Maybe it survived a fire or exposure to rain at some point, or perhaps a cleaning product that wasn’t very kind to the gypsum?
I just got word the last ornament has been received (and one was deemed lost by the postal service and the sender graciously made a second one). Hopefully next year there aren’t so many problems from the postal service!
If anyone hasn’t posted photos yet, please feel free to post them (or the makers of them are safe to post them as well).
These are all great!!
Sib, how did you make yours? *side note, I have the EXACT same Cinderella ornament! Have had it since the 80s XDIt’s a pysanky (Ukrainian egg). There are some pretty good sites and youtube. Someone who did an ornament on the swap a few years ago did one and I had a kit I hadn’t ever opened, so figured I’d give it a whirl! It’s a learning process for sure and reindeer and dragons certainly aren’t traditional. 😛 I haven’t even done 10 of them total and am by no means a master at it. I have one more I need to do for a friend. I’ll make it a point to take photos of the process, and post up a thread with links and photos and stuff.
I abhor coffee (except coffee flavored non-dairy ice cream). Disgusting stuff.
I like fruity teas, green, and oolong teas. No black or earl grey type teas. *blech* I disappoint Jean Luc Picard…Soy chai lattes with some cinnamon added is heaven in a cup.
Juice is actually what I usually reach for most, esp. really good orange juice if I’m home.
