I like the thought of doing GBs and production colors. I haven’t done a GB yet; I want to. I’m mostly limiting myself to collecting CP dragons. My OCD says that I must have one of each kind of dragon in that color. Oh the insanity! I think that’s going to be very difficult to do in CP. :/
I’m excited for anything and everything dragon! 😀
No worries! I suffer from migraines too. It’s hard to do anything in that state, let alone plan and coordinate games! Hope it has subsided.
I very much like the copper/turquoise colour scheme on this GB curlie.
Is there a chance this could one day become a production colour? Or is this a combination you don´t like so much? All of these guys are test paints, so it is good to hear which you like most. I like almost all of them equally so I couldn’t decide which , if any to make into a real batch.
I think I like the horizontally stripy ones best, like the one on the top, and middle of the pyramid in the store pic.I’m with you Melody; I like them all! I can even begin to pick a favorite of the GB curlies.
Hi Melody
Are there any plans to do the curlies in BVP?
I know you’re all painting Blue Morpho everything right now, but my OCD would really like to see BVP curled dragons.
Sometime. Eventually. No rush.
Thanks. Can I ask without sounding too stupid, what does BVP stand for?
I was wondering the same. See…what they say is true. If you have the question, others are probably asking the same thing too. 🙂
I’m in! DragonriderSam is my username. Feel free to friend me. I’m figuring things out as I go. I probably won’t play consistently. Life has a way of getting in the way.
The theme song of Windstone right there.
All of your curlies are magnificent! Should’ve jumped on the grab bag. Darn you limited funds!!
Very nice! I love parrots! Is the copper carved or something? I haven’t seen that kind of thing before.
I took a flat piece of copper and with a wooden dowel, rubbed the image into it. Then continued to rub the lines from either side of the copper to create raised and recessed areas. Pretty much stretching the copper in or out to create the look I want. With the help of some chemicals, I antiqued and polished it to give it depth.
Something I learned in a multi-cultural art class I had to take in high school. They sell kits too, I think.
I have been doing a bunch of giant latch hook rugs of different birds for this aunt of mine. It was nice to do something a little different.
Thanks!
That is my kitty Leo chomping down on grass. Happy accident of a picture that cracks me up every time I see it. I have another cat Saphira and 2 Maine Coons on the way, hopefully. 😀
Such beautiful dragons! Mine is sitting in an unopened box next to me – I’m so excited! But I couldn’t open it before the geologist in me gets the itch scratched to help people ID their dragon’s stone globes.
Anichol, I’ll second Etruscan by saying that one looks like rhodochrosite.
Mashubert, yours has a manmade opalescent glass called ‘opalite’.
Drag0nfeathers, yours is a jasper of some sort. The black feathery lines are dendritic mineral growths.
Copper83 yours looks like a jasper too. If the gray stripes appear metallic, it could be tiger iron or a banded ironstone.
Stephanie I’m not sure about yours – my bet’s on chalcedony/agate, or it could be a cloudy fluorite or amethyst.
Lysithan yours has a jasper known as dalmatian jasper.Whee, the nerd in me is now sated 😉 Thanks Etruscan for starting the thread, and everyone for posting pictures!
Way to go Zelda!! Impressive
Congrats! Very pretty piece.
Awesome! Do they have any ideas about what they’d like to study?
I am jumping on the open registration coming up! I’m enjoying Dragons World in the meantime.
I had been working on a project for my Aunt in which I needed to age some copper. I looked up google images for “copper patina” and one of the top results was a Windstone. I was then lead to this site and my new addiction! This guy was my first. I now have the male, mother, both spectrals, hatching, and curled dragons in copper patina. I want the whole family! This picture is with flash because I feel it really shows off the different colors.
mashubert and Copper83: yours are beautiful. They were 2 of my favs from the class pic (as hard as it is to choose favs)
