I feel very accomplished! There’s a lot I could have done better, and perhaps one day I’ll go back and rework it a bit – the facial rebuilding left some rough textures that mar the paint, which annoys me and looks sloppy. Beyond that, however, I’m pretty satisfied!

lol, that Apoxie stuff really is irritating in itty bitty pieces, isn’t it? I sometimes have to use tools rather than my fingers to get tiny bits started, or it just sticks to my fingers.

It really is tricky in tiny amounts! I gave up on my big blunt fingers and wrangled it with toothpicks, which worked pretty well.

I love your fox conga! Glad to have contributed in a small way to it — they all look lovely together! My former fox has very nice company, indeed.
As for color shift foxes… well, all I can say is, I put in my plea for them in the Ask Melody thread where the color shift Pebble idea was first discussed! I definitely want Sitting Red Foxes in color shift; it’s my favorite Pebble sculpt, and I can see myself amassing a conga line for sure! 🙂

Does anyone have jewel size info on the newer PYO sculpts? Particularly the PYO kitty griffin’s neck chain, but I don’t see the Hippocampus on the list yet, either (though I’m not lucky enough to have one, yet).

Hot unsweetened black tea – morning, noon, and night, every day. 🙂 I’ll drink coffee if it has cream (no sugar) but only when I’m not at home and tea isn’t an option.
When I’m at home I drink milk with meals.

The only coffee I’ll have, however, is Jamoca Almond Fudge ice cream from Baskin Robbins. 🙂 I really love coffee as a flavor in chocolate! That’s all, though; by itself, it has no appeal except for smell.
No milk for me, either; almond milk satisfies my milk-drinking needs. (Cooking with milk is fine, but I do not like its taste as a beverage.)

So, I am not a responsible adult at all. I had to make two separate purchases so i could buy the three items i wanted and used up that last bit of credit i had hahaha. I got a green/purple and silver/gold cougar and one lama. I need an adult!!!!! I will prob guilt trip myself and sell two of the three items i bought. I need to see them in person to figure out though who stays and who goes. I know the green purple is popular but that gold silver is just so darn shiny!!! And i have never even seen a lama for sale before. Decisions, Decisions.
I have a Test Paint Llama and they are so darn adorable! I bet you’ll love yours! I also need an adult 😉 I’m pretending like the fact that I didn’t buy any cougars (when I wanted all of them) means I’m “fiscally responsible.” 😉
In the same boat, here! I’ve decided that I am A Responsible Adult (TM) because I checked my checking account balance before ordering two cougars. 🙂 Well, that, and because I will consider selling/trading a Cougar should there end up being a run of Sitting Red Fox colorshifts in the future!
I will definitely post pictures when my two kitties arrive (assuming, that is, that I can find my camera) and I look forward to seeing everybody else’s!

Just spotted this post on Facebook. Oh, my goodness , Melody, this is just gorgeous.
Seeing this hippocampus in color shift (I love the touches of color on the top of her mane) makes me think you could possibly get away with painting a raku pottery inspired piece. Though with the complicated pattern I’m pretty sure it would end up being an eBay test paint or an Artist’s Edition. But it sure would be lovely.
I wish there was a metallic red or orange pigment like that! So far I haven’t sound one.
Well, I have to toss in a recommendation for Golden brand “Iridescent Copper (Fine)” acrylic! It’s the copperiest copper paint I have ever found, with a vivid rich red tone to it!
I used it on a PYO, experimentally, and it created an unexpected problem – it’s SO intensely copper, it’s hard to find accent colors for horns/wings; all the other coppers I’ve got are washed-out and dull compared to it! 😀 The body stands out more than the accent colors. It’s really close to the color on that pottery.
Hopefully soon I’ll be done with the PYO and able to post pictures of it, so you can see the color. (My camera has wandered away temporarily, or else I’d post a pic of it now.)

Melody, are you going to be releasing any of the other pebbles in these color shifts? I am totally fascinated and I want to get something in it, but I am not so into the cougars and can’t justify getting one just because I think the paint job is cool XD

Yes I will. I have tried several of the pebbles and they all look pretty good in color shift paint. The lying-down ones work best.
I also tried the standing kirin. I don’t think the sculpture’s details really work to well with the color shift paint, but that’s just my opinion. You guys might love it.I’ll keep experimenting.

I’m really excited by the idea of Lady Cats in colorshift options! And even though he’s not a reclining model, I’m still hoping for a Sitting Red Fox in colorshift, too; I *love* that sculpt, but haven’t had any luck finding a Grab Bag that I like (and I missed the AWDs). I’d be defenseless against colorshift SRFs! 😀 Lady Cats, too – I’ve wanted one for quite a while, but haven’t got one yet.

HUGE SQUEAK for more Lap Dragons in some of the newer colors! In rough order of “I would throw money at that” squeaks:
* Copper Patina (bright/”Version 1″)
* Lavender Pearl
* Glacier or Pale Mint
* Serpentine or Elven
* SandSECOND SQUEAK: more mice? I love my White Mouse Wizard, but I would be so happy if he had a Mouse Gargoyle or Mouse Witch or Mouse Prince as a companion! Especially one with a fur pattern we haven’t seen before… solid black, or black-and-tan, or brindle, maybe??
THIRD SQUEAK: new Kirin colors and missing Kirins happening!
* Standing Baby Kirins in the original color
* Collie Kirin family (or a similar Sheltie-esque color scheme)
* Siamese Pearl Kirin familyFOURTH SQUEAK: It’d be really neat to see Copper Patina (esp. the darker, more muted second version, but either is good!) become the next color for the sculpts originally offered in stone finish — since you said the stone is actually very time/effort-intensive. CP would be the perfect option for those, since it still gives the feeling of “statuary” rather than “living creature” in the same way the stone finish does.
I would buy myself broke for CP dragon bookends and a CP dragon candlelamp and CB dragon Gargoyle!FIFTH SQUEAK: Could we have Moon Orientals released in Peacock, to complete everyone’s families, please?

eBay tends to have overinflated prices. There is a great site, Model Horse $ales Pages. Those prices tend to reflect more the current value of pieces. Especially if it is something that came out recently, there tends to be several people who will turn around and resell them. Special pieces that were offered web only, or email only. I just snagged one of the ones that they put up on Christmas Day that was a gamblers choice of two colors (like a grab bag). Model was $95, and there were only 350 of each color. Current resell is about $150ish. Might come down, might not. If there is anything in particular you are looking for, PM me and I can give you a hand. You can check Breyers site for the regular runs and their prices, then head over to MH$P and you can probably get one from someone at least $10 cheaper.

I am blown away – shiny metallic things and colorshift things are my weakness, so this is, like, PERFECT.
If this came out on the Sitting Red Fox, I would buy three! (Or at least two!) That golden-green is really striking.
Although… I’ve been secretly hoping for a fantasy (probably Simple Fantasy) grab bag of Sitting Red Foxes; what about a Colorshift Grab Bag?? Since it sounds like you have multiple colorshift colors, that would be just fabulous!
Come to that, I could go for a Colorshift GB of Fennecs or Bat-Ears, too, but the Sitting Red is my top favourite. (Larger, and smoother, too, since he’s not curled.)
In conclusion: YES PLEASE, COLORSHIFT PEBBLES!
