Thanks, Kim! I found what I think is the right pen at Michael’s; the only one they had was a “chisel tip” that is quite big and chunky, but hopefully that will be all to the good — after all, bigger pen = more paint, right? 🙂

It was $6.99, and was NOT in the area with the acrylics (neither the cheapo acrylics aisle, nor the artist-quality acrylics aisle), but rather in a separate area with other paint pens.

The brand of pens I got from Windstone say: DecoColor Liquid Gold Opaque Paint Marker
So they have a thicker marker tip than a pen. Michaels would probably have them but you may want to call them and ask or search online.

I know we talk a lot on this thread about upcoming GBs, but are there any new production colours or sculpts coming out?

Oh, say for example, Brown Standing Baby KiRins, Jet Black Flap and Flip Flap Cats, Baby Dragons in Copper Patina (I know that the casting process is better and that there are fewer rejects, but since they are the same price as the non-rejects, is there any way that you could do a run of copper? It would be really nice to have a Copper Patina baby to complete the family), and Small and Mouse Wizards in the same colours as the large wizards.

Seconding your questions! I’m perched on the edge of my seat for brown Standing Baby Kirins, and would *really* love a run of Lap Dragons in Copper Patina (preferably the shiny “version 1” CP that would match my griffin lady)… I hadn’t thought about a Mouse Wizard in CP, but I think I’d like that very much, too! Good suggestions. 🙂

Thank you! Definitely post yours; I’m always up for seeing MORE beautiful Lap Dragons! (Favorite sculpt ever, or favorite sculpt ever?) OWs are excellent, too; actually, I’m only one OW short of a conga. 😀 (Can we say my super-special test paint prototype counts as two??)

If I ever manage to see an Amethyst in person, there’s always a chance I might be won over! But all the internet photos I’ve seen just don’t do it for me. (Definitely need to acquire a Peacock someday, though!)

I’ve worked hard on them, after starting over a decade ago with the very first (the White) and realizing that this, *this* was the sculpt for me! 🙂 Hard to believe they all live with me, seeing them gathered up like that. If I get another, I’ll have to find a longer piece of furniture to take the next conga photo on, heh.

Your MK conga is AWESOME! What a variety, and what fancy paint jobs! My very first MK is on its way to me as of today (a trade from Angelika Zen – thanks, Angelika!) so I can hardly wait to see one up close for the first time; I bet I’ll appreciate your conga even more after that. 🙂

Wow! Nice collection. It’s like a lap dragon army. No red fire lap dragon?

Maybe one day! RF would certainly look good in between the Ruby and the Sunrise!

Honestly, though? Mostly I really don’t like the “two-tone” color schemes like Red Fire and Violet Flame — I much prefer a single major color, with smooth transitions in the shading. What I’ve seen Melody refer to as “jewel tone” dragons – the kind of color schemes originally designed to stand out and sell well in shops.

Amethyst is another “maybe one day” color for me; it looks like a very plummy/red-toned purple, and I’m just not a fan. I’m holding out hope for a future purple dragon whose coloring is more blue-purple… and hopefully less gold/orange. It’d blend into the rainbow conga line much better! (Ahem. Melody, can I tempt you to develop Iolite as a new color??) 😀 😀 😀 😀

If I get tired of waiting, maybe I’ll pick up a Lap in the original old Peacock color to stand as the purple in my rainbow! Shockingly, I don’t own a single Peacock dragon, so that’d be a handy boost to my collection even outside of the conga-line part of it. 🙂

Anyone who’s bought one of the pens, which shop did you find it in, and in what section? I know my local JoAnn’s and Hobby Lobby don’t have them, but there is a Michael’s across town; I just wondered whether they’re any more likely to have it, and where to look (since paint is in at least three different sections based on use and quality).
