I got my email, but I’ll be out of state all next week and some of the next, so my Qi-Lin will have to wait till he can be purchased and shipped home 🙂 I’m very happy that we get a week to pay for the item… I was nervous about that.
This is only my second grab bag (the other qi-lin being my first), so I never had to deal with the issues previously, but of course, this method is much easier and smoother.Look at him! I’m not a fan of koi colors, but for some reason I really like this guy. Love the Children’s Day flag too! Since it’s long past, he can celebrate it next year :p
Ahh. All those purple figures are right up my alley. Love em.
No, none of them are particularly recent. The reason this gets to me is that I have painted more pyos than I could possibly count in the last 15 years. I have never had a casting defect in one. And I only have one defect on a production piece. But now, I have a defect in a small dragon and you in multiple orientals. This makes me wonder if there is an issue with the current way of casting.
Hmm. Makes me a little nervous. I have 3 or 4 orientals that I have yet to take out of their boxes. I also have a few other pyos that are still in the unopened boxes they were shipped in.
Just the other day I finally opened one, a small dragon that I purchased in July last year, and as I was painting him… found out one of his toes wasn’t casted correctly. Like a bubble got in. Being almost a year old and already slightly painted, I didn’t email windstone about it. I was hoping he was a one off thing, but now you’re having issues with other pyos. Hmm.I got one from the second batch. When I first opened the box my thought was “oh no”. I really don’t like loud colors. But the more I looked at him, the more I liked him. He even has silver eyes (gray and silver are my favorite colored eyes). And his black chin is so random for the rest of his colors, I like it 🙂
I’m going to ask, as I have no clue, but in Canada, with online banking, I can send money via Interact eTransfer to anyone who registered their email address with their bank. There’s a limit per day, like when you withdraw money at the ATM, which depends on your type of account, etc.
Do you have this type of option in the States?
Yes. Zelle is a thing. It’s used with your bank account, and all you need is the recipients email OR phone number. I don’t know if there is a limit per day.
I have heard that these count as taxable funds/income as well. I didn’t look into personally, but I was told it was to be taxed.Ah, I missed them. Had a bad issue that day.
Lots of black based boys; would have liked one. I would have liked to have tried my hand at the first grab bag I actually wanted. Oh well. Will be fun to see photos of them.So many bad things are happening to everyone this year already :/ I go into new years neutrally, but it’s already going pretty bad.
So I can’t recall if I shared this here. Two weeks after moving here (in September), someone rear ended me (then that same week, my friend that I’m living with got rear ended as well). About a month later, my truck was broken into and all they stole was my $100 motorcycle gloves (??? convinced it was someone homeless, but those gloves don’t do a thing to help with warmth. They’re so if you eat it while riding a motorcycle, your hands are saved. I own a motorcycle, but I always wore them while driving too). About a week later, someone sideswiped my truck.
Well. On Monday, someone tried to straight up steal my truck while I was at work. My truck is year 2002, so I think they thought they could just shove the screwdriver in and drive off with it. Except the steering wheel locks if you move it even an inch without the key in the ignition. Also, said key has a chip, so you can’t start the truck without the key in the ignition. So, they caused damage and left the screwdriver.
Obviously, they didn’t get the truck. But they screwed it up so much trying, that I, essentially, don’t have a vehicle anymore. I had to pay to have it towed back to my friends place. The company said that that repair starts at $600, but can be up for $1000. It’s not an issue, but like… why. I’ve had that truck for 15 years and he’s been in perfect condition up until I moved back to Washington and… now he’s trashed. Doesn’t even have 135,000 miles on him…
(also, my friend is taking me to/from work for the time being and today after he dropped me off, he got rear ended and the driver took off. My truck has cursed his vehicle and they get damaged together, apparently)
Damn! I guess PayPal isn’t waiting for 2022. I got a 1099-K for items I sold in 2021
Thanks for the heads up. There actually is a “Tax Documents” section on the Paypal website (who knew?). To find it go to Activity, then click on “Statements” and then choose “Tax Documents”).
The drop-down box on my “Tax Documents” page has options for 2019 and 2020 as well as 2021. Both 2019 and 2020 say “Less paperwork for you. You don’t have any tax document on PayPal yet.” I do have a 1099-K for 2021.
Same, no tax documents. I wonder what the cut off point was? I sold a lot of windstones last year. I think my last sales were in the August area.
I don’t have friends or family to use it with anyway, hah. I also don’t sell anything anymore, for the time being. That was just something that has been circulating since all this has come up.
As for money orders, you don’t exactly get buyers protection with that either if it gets lost in the mail.
The long and short of it all is, you can’t really escape the new taxes. Is what is it. The only annoyance is if you’re just trying to downsize your collection (or “yard sale” stuff) and you’re going to get taxed on it.
I’m sure glad I decided to sell most of my collection before now…
(Rumor has it, this was implicated to attack one kind of “service”. Now everyone must suffer)I was wondering if anyone would mention this here.
The friend I’m staying with for the time being told me about it about a week ago. I would have never known had he not said anything.I’m not sure if this is correct, but it is believed that if you use the “friends and family” option on paypal, this will not count towards your $600 a year. However, if that does work, not everyone is comfortable sending money to people like that (and whos to say paypal might very well figure that out and start charging on that). Also doesn’t help if you do sell on etsy or ebay etc.
(I made a ton of pokemon keychains/buttons a number of months ago… I was trying to figure out where to best sell them but now this popped up and I’m not sure how to proceed. I just wanted the occasional pocket change, not a self owned business with taxes). You could charge people more to cover those taxes (like charging more to cover paypal fees), but then you run the risk of not selling your items. Sigh.
If money orders or what have you become the new norm, shipping will slow down and payments will likely be lost in the mail. The government really doesn’t like people keeping their money.
We had so much snow last week. We are still buried in it. I ended up calling out three days of this week (as did half the store I understand), and the one day I tried to drive my truck to work, it got stuck in the snow haha. Ended up having to leave it on the side of the road and was able to get it back to the house the night after.
I’ve been taking the light rail to work since. I hate driving, so I think I’m just going to keep using it 🙂 No more rush hour, or traffic or anything.I haven’t had to deal with snow in, what, something like 29 years? My memories of six feet of snow from a child are really all I had. Even with all the issues, I’m enjoying every bit of it. According to my friends that I have lived in Seattle for much longer, snow in December isn’t normal. While I didn’t/don’t celebrate christmas, I had a “white christmas” for the first time since I was like 5 or 6.

I fancy the black/pink/blue boy in the first picture.August 19, 2021 at 9:40 am in reply to: What’s next on the schedule, Part 5 (new for 2021) #1646192Though I’m not in the market for this sculpt, I actually rather like that dark/tiger one.
The raffle idea is interesting, but I wonder how it would work. Is it a set price and you’re just being drawn to purchase the piece or would it be more of a bidding system with a “max bid” you’re willing to pay?
