You must have been reading my mind, because for about 2 years (maybe longer) it has seemed that most Windstones on eBay have gone for relatively low prices, whereas several years ago they seemed to be in higher demand. It hasn’t seemed to matter whether these are special pieces or regular production pieces. Just looked at the most recent sold items on eBay, which include a New Growth female griffin (special paint) for $184.00, Celestial Sunset Emperor dragon for $539.00, and a Violet Flame Lap Dragon for $125.00. A gold fledgling went for $96.00 on July 26. I bought mine in 2013 for close to $300.00. Also, for example, store price on lap dragons is $210.00, and eBay/Paypal/shipping typically takes up 25% in fees, so the person who sold the lap dragon (which had been relisted many times) probably walked with about $94.00 for a loss of $116.00. There are exceptions, and I’ve had a lot of my collection for sale for some time now, but I can’t take that much of a loss. I always purchased these because I really liked them, but I also knew that I might one day resell them, and part of why I was so willing to purchase a lot of them was that at the time it seemed that they would retain their value.
I’ve wondered what has factored into this. It seems WE is producing more product and colors (including grab bags and different sculpts) and that perhaps it wasn’t able to do that for some time after it moved to Oregon. This has increased the supply pretty dramatically. It also seems that there is a limited number of people who will spend this type of money on these statues and this is a very small community. When I started collecting, I wanted a lot of different colors, and I went overboard in trying to collect a lot of them – really too many of them. I don’t think I’m alone here because I’ve seen a lot of ads here or on eBay from people selling their collections for many different reasons. Over time, I’ve become much pickier now on what I will buy, and I am trying to sell a lot of my collection.
In any event, I’m going to wait and see. I’d rather hold on to them for awhile to see if I can ultimately recoup some of what I had spent then to try and sell now for 1/3 or even 1/4 of what I had paid.
Just my two cents – and I could be completely wrong. 🙂 Wouldn’t be the first time. But I would love to hear what others think.
I’d love to see more Silver Baby Dragons.
Same problem for me.
Any plans to ever finish the Emerald Peacock dragon line? Would love to see the Hatching Royalty trio, the 4 orientals, and the mini keeper.

I agree with Jennifer. I like the Rising Spectral better than the griffins because there is less black. I feel the same way about the black paint. I’ve wanted blue dragons for some time (since I first saw the Blue Ice dragons), and I think the blues on the blue morpho pieces are gorgeous. I’m still on the fence with the Rising Spectral, though, because of the black paint (reminds me of Black Gold and Black Violet Peacock) and the white spots (both inspired by the butterfly, I know). I can’t wait to see members’ pictures.
These names are fun. What about Novice or Apprentice?

Anyway, Cheers, Windstone fans!
I agree on the special pieces. Some of the pieces become coveted by a lot of people, and those can resell pretty well. Otherwise, they don’t resell for the original sale price. Also, it seems that the prices for which Windstone Editions can be resold fluctuate. I don’t think they have been selling for as high lately on ebay or in the classifieds.
By the way, I think that there was one Male, Mother, and Hatching dragon in red fire released with blue eyes. There’s a picture of the family somewhere on the website, but I can’t find it. I did find this link, which shows the hatching dragon: http://reptangle.deviantart.com/art/Hatching-dragons-315978542?offset=20#comments
And I can also vouch for this seller. The red fire with blue eyes listed on ebay is the real deal. Good luck!
Thank you, Phantomess! I don’t have the room to display them all at once, although I like to keep most of them displayed. I’m also selling quite a few right now (my white dragons, my Sunrise lap, and others) because I need to downsize a bit!
This is my first shot at posting pictures. I’ve always enjoyed looking at all the collections. While cleaning and moving around my collection yesterday, I decided to take some pictures. Enjoy!

Has there ever been an attempt to somehow tally what people are squeaking for? It seems like it would be beneficial to know how many people actually want an item and think it would be a good idea. It also seems there could be a more simple way of keeping track of this than with a new post for every squeak – not that I mind the squeaks – I always love to know what people are looking for!
I’m not sure how this could be accomplished. Most squeaks fall into one of several categories: making more regular and LP items that aren’t retired but are out of stock; painting regular and LP items in sculpts that haven’t been painted yet (for example, painting the Hatching Royalty in Emerald Peacock); developing special store items and Ebay items into regular or LP lines; changing some pattern on existing regular and LP items (using teal eyes for CP instead of red eyes); and producing brand new items that haven’t been sculpted (winged foxes).
Part of what would be helpful is having an official list of what’s been retired. It seems that some of the items in the postponed production section actually are retired, but it’s hard to tell. For example, there always seems to be confusion about the Rainbow pieces (Scratcher, Old Warrior, Lap, Curled, etc.) I’ve given it my best shot in this spreadsheet that I created, but I would love to know if anything I have listed as retired / postponed should actually be changed.

If anyone has any ideas about how to tally or create a sheet that could track who is squeaking for what (so that people can’t vote twice), I think that would be really cool.
Ok, so apparently I’m a dork, too, because I had created a list as well to help me keep track of my collection and what is available, retired, etc.. So, I’ll share it here, too. I focused on the Regular/Limited Production dragons in which most of the sculpts had been made (so, for example, it doesn’t include Pearly Pink or Aquamarine because only a few sculpts have been made in those colors). Also, I did not include Special Store and Ebay items. Let me know if you see any errors. And let me know if my link doesn’t work for some reason. Hope this works!

Great idea! The older run was more like the Intense Violet Emerald Peacock, right? The new ones would lack the intense violet.
