I resigned my second job of 4.5 years. Am now a single job gal 😀
I will miss most of the people I worked with but on the other hand I will have this thing called free time for the first time in…. way too long.
I’ll actually have time for things I want to do! 🙂Also, started martial arts in September 😀
I do Iaido (Japanese Sword), Jodo (sword v staff) and Niten Ichi Ryu (Double Sword) and am LOVING it!
a couple of weeks ago my dojo had its annual war with the evil pumpkin clan (we won 😛 ) and got to use Sensei’s live blade 😀I would definitely be interested! 😀
There might be some travel issues and of course Work but the further out I know the more likely I can swing it!A trip to the carousel museum would be a neat side trip too!

She’s a Marble Sand Cat who may or may not have been a part of a waterfall sculpture 😀I got one of my new years resolutions just before Christmas! I Finally! (its been 2 years) got a permanent position in my office (if I hadn’t gotten it I would have been looking for a new job) and a bonus that I got re-classified to a senior position too! 😀
So 2015 Resolutions:
1 – Actually start looking after myself!
I have really neglected ME over the last few years while I was getting my life sorted out

One of my jobs is now permanent so I’m hoping that it means I can work less shifts at the other
and actually have some *free time*3 – Get back into doing Arts stuffs.
Because of life disasters and school/working 2 jobs I haven’t being doing anything and I miss it.So got home and there was a Windstone box waiting for me…

We have the big family dinner tonight, 14 adults, 4 kids and 2 dogs all crammed into my sister’s place. Someone in the family needs to get a bigger house LOL 😛

For the ‘board’ might I suggest a giant quilt?
I know there are several sewing people here (I’m one 😉 )I would be wiling to organize, I like organizing and do that sort of thing for a living 😛
What about not using some of the larger PYOs? The Foo Parents and Keeper have a fairly large footprint which would mean a much larger ‘board’

Ugh… so whine….
found out that I’ve been passed over again for a permanent position. 😥 I’ve been passed over 4 times in the last 2 months! And for people with absolutely no experience!
I don’t get it. I’ve been there almost 2 years (been passed over at least 8 times now) have worked hard and get fantastic performance reviews from my supervisors. My supervisors are baffled as well.
I’m really at a loss… and find myself contemplating looking for another job. I really like what I do but I don’t know if I can keep putting up with crap from management. 🙁

I don’t want to think about it! Summer is already way to short! Its not happening, we still have another 2 months! 😛We haven’t gotten snow yet but its been cold and rainy and the mountains have gotten snow, I know its just a matter of time…. time to start looking for new winter boots 😉

I work at our local Courthouse so work for the government and its a very hectic, stressful and thankless job. I Got into work this morning and got called into the supervisor’s office, that’s usually not good but it turned out to be super good for me!
The President of one of the courier companies we deal with sent a letter to the Justice Minister ( and then it made its way down the chain to us) stating how wonderful his experience was and he actually named me as being the clerk who was the wonderful person he dealt with and commending my ‘positive attitude, patience and professionalism’ when dealing with people. 😀
Honestly I don’t remember who this would have been, we get hundreds of people through our counter each day. My supervisor said its pretty impressive to have a company write to the Minister for someone doing a good job (we’re much, much more familiar with people complaining that we’re not doing things for them) and she was super happy for me and has put it on my personnel file. :party:
This would be interesting. When Anne McCaffrey was alive, she was uncomfortable about anyone messing with her novels–writing them or making movies–because she felt they didn’t get it right. I read one comment of hers when she was looking at a script for a movie and shook her head because it wasn’t what she felt it should be–they didn’t get it right. Making movies from books is always tricky–you can never accurately depict the book exactly how the author intended.
It would make several movies and I would watch them. And whether or not they happen may depend on her children.
Yeah, it seems like authors don’t have any say in how the movie of their book is made, (with the exception of Rowling, who seemed to have a strong hand in it!)
Actually it all depends on how the source material is optioned. Some Authors who as super protective of their stuff (Rowlings, etc.) won’t option their material unless they have a say in how its portrayed and it’s put in pretty iron clad wording in the contract. It can be something that studios aren’t really interested in cause then they have to find a director who is willing to take direction from the author. It is becoming more popular to include the creator since series like this already have a huge fan base and if you turn them off you’re not going to make any money.
I’m hoping that it goes out to Legendary (a studio kinda under the WB umbrella) since they’ve done some great Scifi stuff in the last couple of years and they seem to be turning into that niche kind of studio.
Anyway I’d bee thrilled to death to get a Pern movie. I’ve been waiting years and years for this! There was an old computer game back in the early 80s I think and so did Sega Dreamcast in the 90s.
Given how CGI tech has evolved (and I read at one time that was one of the hang ups) we should get a decent movie.Of course even though its been optioned, it doesn’t mean that it’ll get made
Guess we all gotta wait and see and cross fingers and toes 🙂
