I’ve been suckered into 3 so far, was about to adopt some more and saw Melody’s post about the kickstarter going live in a month. ..now I’m waffling budget. ..
I’ve got 2 blue merles, one medium to dark colored with white and odd colored eyes; the other is such a dark merle he mostly looks black with small touches of white at the throat, stomach, & a snipe up the nose with silver eyes, almost like a tuxedo at first glance. My third is a pretty gold eyed one with German Shepard type colors almost? A medium sandy brown with black at the edges, tail, ear tips, & mask.
I love all 3 a lot! Way cuter than the class photo!
100% Agree with Matty! 🙂
You were a great host 96037. I’d also love it and appreciate it if you wanted to host the spring/summer swap!
Adore these poads!
I’ve backed a ton of kickstarter projects, domestic & international, mostly books and graphic novels as well as games and even complete movies. Everything you want to do is totally doable!
Justin Hillgrove is a good example, he’s also a NW artist and author, done similar kickstarters to what you want. More than once he’s offered original art sketches as a tier reward, with a person/backer limit based on how many of the sketches he had of each size and value. Heck, one movie I backed had several top tiers limited to 1 person, one for about $7k, and they were selling the movie plus the driveable “war cart” they made for the movie.
So long as the item you are offering in addition to the book is equal value so that all the people buying at that tier get the same value for their money you’re good. So if not all those poads are equal value to produce, just split them into different tiers limited to however many you have at that price. As I recall, there are ways to vary the shipping charges within a tier as well if that’s a concern.
You could even round up some of the unique test pieces or sketches similar to the monthly raffle pieces and offer them as unique, limited to 1 person tiers for example.
Common tiers with the books I’ve backed start with things like digital pdf copy only, 1 hard copy, signed hard copy, multiple copies, multiple signed copies, signed copy plus small original sketch in book itself, book plus other item like the poad, etc. (One even turned their art sketches into custom digital coloring book pages.)
After you hit your $ goal, then the stretch goals usually involve upgrading the book print quality; such as higher quality paper, leather binding, ribbon, slip cover or case, etc.
I love backing artists and authors this way on kickstarter! Kickstarter with Backerkit is so easy to use and help share/promote on social media. So for what’s it worth, my input and experience. 🙂 [either way can’t wait for those gorgeous poads!]
I’m so glad (and relieved LOL 🙂 ) that you like him Kujacker! I was quite worried about how you think he’d compare against the Armin character. 😀
As always everyone, I agree completely that the pieces are gorgeous so far! Can’t wait to see the rest! (Or for the next swap! These are soooo fun to do! )
My person should be getting theirs next week. *fingers crossed* this winter weather has been nasty this year in our area.
Meanwhile, I got mine today! He’s an absolutely stunning little dragon by MandBsMom she calls Blue Ice. He’s a beautiful mix of pearly whites, blues, and accent touches of this light green tinted blue and silver. Based on glacier colors. Plus, she gave him these truly stunning blue eyes! I absolutely adore him! !!!
Thank you very very much! Im terrible with posting photos although I’ll try layer this weekend to do so. So MandBsMom, please PLEASE post some for me to show him off if you can?
Thanks again for my gorgeous dragon! 🙂
Mines ready to mail, but apologizing now to my person that I also won’t be able to actually mail the little guy until this weekend. My area has been having some nasty winter weather, so wasn’t able to get him mailed this weekend as I’d planned and now won’t be off work in time to do so until this weekend. Sorry. But he is ready and coming your way shortly!
I’m in! Sending in my email, yay! 🙂
The cats well being comes first! You can’t leave him suffering with that injury regardless of what’s going on with the neighbor. If they concern you that much, try once when they are home to notify them that the cat was hurt and give them a chance to be responsible owners. If they refuse to answer or get him treatment…seek medical help for him directly. Their refusal to seek medical help in this situation on top of their past refusals to reclaim him qualifies as abandonment and fair game for you to keep him I’d say.
Most vets offer payment plans and are very willing to work with you. Also, many vets offer deals or discounts to those willing to seek help for and then adopt ‘stays’ and abandoned animals. Just tell the vet your neighbors abandoned him/refused to claim him or help get him treatment, you don’t know his medical history, and you would love to adopt him, just will need assistance paying for his treatment if it’s very much. Most vets are very supportive in these situations and will happily work with you.
So take him in to a vet and get him the help he deserves. No sense panicking over cost or “what if” things like amputation until the vet sees him. But waiting never makes any injury or it’s treatment better. So take the poor furball in asap!
Good luck & let us know how it turns out!
Love your phoenix Ciarnet!
Speaking of love, I got mine today & I’m head over heels for him! Skylover painted me an absolutely gorgeous blue jay kitty griffy!!!
And I hate it, cause I so want to show him off soooo badly, but I don’t have a way to post photos. 🙁
So Skylover, could you PLEASE post photos & show him off! Thank you so very much for my amazing kitty griffy!!
Just loving all the swaps like always! Beautiful work everyone! Can’t wait to see the rest.
REALLY love that seashell Kirin 96037 did! It’s right up my ally. ..
My person should get theirs on Thursday. ..hope it arrives safely.
I agree. We’ve all been there! It’s not a big deal, bet your swap mate will be ok waiting.
But, if you’re that concerned about them having to wait, esp. if the ship time to you from susie plus to you to them is really long, you could ship it without the pad. Then when you get a new pad just fill it out & mail it to them in a normal envelope. Shouldn’t cost you more than a stamp I’d think, & doubt they’ll mind applying it either! So go with whatever works best for you that your comfortable with i think. 🙂
I’m really glad you like him Ciarnet!
I’m also grateful he made it in one piece. Since he’s wired in order to make him poseable for the chair, i was especially worried about how well he would ship!
I’m also a quilter, so I actually bounced between “fuzzicus quilticus” (a quilting fuzzy) & “fuzzicus creaticus” all the way up to the almost bittersweet end…but ultimately thought it was just too fun to not to go with “creaticus”. He’s the fuzzy equivalent to the stork for answering that ‘oh so awkward’ question from overly young fuzzies about where baby fuzzies come from. 😉
I really hope you enjoy him! 🙂
Lol! What an awesome way to ask.
Not that i can answer the actual question, but it made me laugh.
Which i really needed. So thanks a lot for that bit of fun creativity! 🙂
Yay, got my fuzzy this weekend! Thank you Natasha! He’s super cool, going to have to find a good way to frame & hang him.
Most of you will likely recognize him from the fuzzy quest, he was the awesome cross stiched bat. Since I don’t have an online photo sharing account, I’m copying Kiya’s quest photo link for the interim. So Natasha, please please feel free to post better photos! And really, thanks again for sending me such a neat & unusual fuzzy!

Got mine. He’s from the “collie” themed batch in photo 4, farthest back row, and farthest to the right. He’s overall dark, basically dark grey shades with tan brown highlights & tan brown down the front with dark face & nose, white chin, muzzle, stripe up face, & inside ears is also light.
First grab bag I ever opened & looking at up close thought initially that I really wasn’t in love (loved the sculpt though!) & even thought he may be going up for trade…but the colors blend much better with a bit of distance & he actually is of course gorgeous, so starting to really grow on me plus he does match all my others really well…
