I feel so bad that I’m so late in posting this, but I got some incredible fuzzies from Linda, and I HAVE to say thank you!
Not just one, but a whole pack of friendly little fuzzies came to live with me! And this sweet little mouse wizard is the first Windstone that I’ve ever been gifted. Linda, thank you so much for your generosity and your good thinking – there’s nothing better to protect a mouse in a home with a cat than a pack of watchdogs 😀 Thanks also for your card, note, and bookmark too!Forever seeking: Blackwatch the raffle Old Warrior, Jennifer Miller's pieces, and GB Baby unis!
Envious indeed! That and the fact that you get to visit the factory 😀 Congrats on all of your hard work paying off, I hope you love your new dragon!

The most addictive part of geology, haha 😀 I can’t claim to have a favorite source for minerals, other than finding them myself. That way you get a good memory to go along with it, and often a much lower price tag 🙂 My favorite souvenirs from traveling are often rocks or plants. Crystals are often more alluring in a display, but I have a weak spot for agates, pegmatites, and rocks that show off interesting geological features like folds or ripple marks. If you do a web search for rockhounding in your area, I’ll bet there’s something interesting around. Many old mineral mines have been converted into fee-based rockhounding sites, where you pay to dig through the mine’s spoil pile. I’ve found some surprisingly neat stuff in roadside and landscaping gravel fill 😀
I also follow a bunch of rock and mineral blogs on Tumblr, and they’re a great way to spot minerals or crystal forms I’ve never heard of. If it intrigues me, I’ll look up on Ebay or Etsy to see what people have for sale, and have gotten a few nice specimens that way!

Oh wow, so cute! The patch is a great idea, especially with it being a Poad. If it gets stuck on clothing or bags, I imagine it will turn heads and get a lot of conversations started about Windstone Editions!

Whee, mine is here! I didn’t think the odds were in my favor for getting a fantasy kitty, but I’m very pleasantly surprised. This one’s been tough to photograph and I need to get pictures in daylight – the green is darker, more in the emerald range than the neon lime-y color in these pics. He’s got a dusting of interference blue all over, and a cute copper nose. He’s in the first class pic, third down in the left column.
So, I think this every time a new one comes out, but *this* is my favorite pebble sculpt. Until the next one, that is… I’m glad I waited for the grab bags to get my first cougar because now I’ll want them all, haha! And it’s a comparatively big piece, too. Melody, thank you for the amazing job you’ve done on these!Forever seeking: Blackwatch the raffle Old Warrior, Jennifer Miller's pieces, and GB Baby unis!
Copper and pony-up, yours have such intricate details! They were hiding in the class pic, really! Thank you both for the pictures so we can all see them at their finest up close.
I’m blown away by the individual patterns and unique details on each cougar – Melody you’ve outdone yourself 🙂

Lovely pictures everyone, I can’t wait to see mine when it arrives!
Demyx yours looks so intriguing, like shadows or fog at night! I imagine he’s a tough one to photograph. Those eyes are a bold contrast too, very nice! One of my favorites thus far.

Hi Bodine! I’ve repaired similar paint scuffs on my own Triceratops using Folk Art brand metallic acrylic paints. I know they make a color (I believe it’s ‘champagne’ or something of the like) similar to the light beige/dark cream part of the dino. You’ll likely have to get a handful of colors that are close to those on your dino, then mix them to reach just the right shade. Windstone has used a brown-tinted clear glaze to get the antiqued effect, which you may be able to replicate by mixing just a little brown paint into some clear gloss glaze, or you may be able to find one already colored brown. They make transparent paints for use on glass that might be useful for this, but I’ve never tried using them for this purpose myself.
There are better quality brands of paint out there, but the Folk Art brand is sold at most craft stores, so it might be easier to get a hold of.
Good luck! I love Melody’s dinosaur sculpts, so it’s good to see one being given some TLC 🙂

No way you’d want to keep that ugly neon thing right drag0nfeathers? 😉 Just kidding of course, it’s beautiful! I was hoping the shrimps wouldn’t go into hiding, so to speak. Thanks for the pic and congrats on the lucky pull!

Beautiful little poad! And a wonderful gesture from Melody. As if we needed more evidence that she and the folks at Windstone are in the round awesome 🙂

Briteblades and StormDancer – lovely tanukis! I particularly like the faded edges to the leaf on yours StormDancer, that’s quite unique among the leaf pattern grab bags we’ve seen so far!
