Thanks Skylover and VS for your help! How did I miss that thread with the pictures? The dragon I was thinking of is 165 (with m 166 right next to it maybe being why I got confused about the amount of purple vs. green on it, haha). Did anyone here end up with it or its clone?
Angelika, I agree as well about liking so many – a good problem to have haha. And my ‘lava’ dragon does have a glow to it thanks to that deep purple-blue color. And the crystal ball, I love how it catches the light in photos and lights up the belly of these dragons.

Hey VS, nope your dragon isn’t the one I was thinking of, but thanks for the picture. The one I remember was mostly purple but had a very visible bright green wash.

Late to the party in showing off my Bantams! I have #32G and #115E, reminding me respectively of a sunset and a lava flow. Melody went above and beyond with making so many clones of these – to order nonetheless! But how reassuring it was to know we’d pretty much have our choice of these feisty little guys.
I adore this sculpt and am sorry to have missed out on the mystery rainbow tiger option. If anyone wants to sell or trade, I’d love a super neon-y one 😀
Also, are there any copies of the original batch and/or clone photos out there? I mean the ones that didn’t get edited as people claimed their dragons. Another dragon that caught my eye was purple and green (or was it green and purple…?) with a green wash that really stood out. And the safari, a very detailed and crisp-striped zebra. Metallic silver eyes, and dustings of brown and cream blending into the white fur. Nice detailing in the black fur around the claws and pink toes of the front feet 🙂

I like this sculpt much better than I thought I would from just seeing pictures. The facial expressions change so much from different angles, and it’s amazing how the different ways Melody painted facial accents brings out different ‘personalities’ in the same sculpt. My horse ‘griff has such a knowing and bemused look about her, while the zebra seems more wide-eyed, demure from some angles and mirthful from others. Pictures of my two hippogriffs incoming! First is the horse, a lovely dapple bay with white socks. Nicely-paired metallic straw colored eyes. I especially like the blending on the wings.

Hello all! My babies are in but I won’t have the chance to take photos until tomorrow. From Courtney’s handy numbering guide on page 5 (thanks Courtney!) I have horse #19 and safari #18.
I’ll be seeking to trade both. My favorites are horse #12 and safari #27, as circled in green below. I’d be interested in the ones circled in yellow too.
Let me know if anyone has any of these little cuties, as I have other things to offer in trade if my hippogriffs don’t strike your fancy. Pictures to come soon…

My favorite from the safari batch is the AWD with the orange eyes in the first picture, top right.
And from the horse batch, third row down and second from the right reminds me of a mule at first glance. I like the light eyebrow accents.

An update: I got a message that my first and second choices were all claimed by others, those being #115, 32, 80, and 40. Melody will be painting more, and I’m sure she’s got a ton of work cut out for her between painting and answering messages if she really will have more by next week.
Melody, I can’t speak for others here but you’re welcome in my opinion to take a deep breath and eat all that chocolate first before worrying too much about painting. I know I would 😀

Seconding StormDancer in thanks to Melody and the Windstone crew, I’m sure it’s been a chaotic day for them all. Who knew Kickstarter would have issues with all of the traffic and messages flying? Hopefully it will cause some improvements to their platform. Kinda nice to be a victim of success, right? 😀
I’m backer #61, pledged for 2 and am hoping for #115 and 32, with #80 and #40 as backup choices. We’ll see how things turn out. And there’s always the chance for swapping, etc. down the road.
I remember how complicated choosing Poads over the livestreams for the last Kickstarter was, with those who weren’t able to tune in at a particular time missing out. And Melody et. al. went above and beyond to work through the snags then too. The messaging idea this time around seemed better on paper, and it’s a shame things went sideways on Kickstarter’s end.
I’ll also say that I’m looking forward to eventually seeing these dragons in their new homes!

My two are here! They’re beautifully detailed, and I love how the pads under the front hooves are little hearts 😀 Also, the texture of the horns are interesting too. Reminds me of 3D printed things, and I like the sheen they have, even though it’s a bit of a departure from the other uni horns.
A golden giraffe and a zebra with a twinge of cuttlefish, maybe? The giraffe has peridot gems, silver berries and yellow-green leaves. The zebra has peridot gems and a combo of yellow-green and spring green leaves. Or… are these feathers? Either way they’re charming! While I really like them both, I’m going to float them for trades. Really hoping someone wants to swap their African wild dog!

So glad that I checked my email before I left work, and didn’t miss them over the long commute home 😀 I snagged a safari and a giraffe, and I’m really hoping for one of the African wild dogs and the dark-ish giraffe with the light eyes. Until they get here, I’m drooling over the class pics and picking my other favorites, ranked from first to third tier with green, yellow, and red ovals in the pics below. If I don’t have the Best Luck Ever with my pulls, I’ll be looking forward to trading!
Melody, thanks for making so many wild dogs, and a whole batch of giraffes! They’re gorgeous.
