Wow, I’m really loving all these foo’s, you guys are amazing painters! I hope to get a momma with the next batch too. 🙂
I am so very sorry you are dealing with this. You and your son are very brave! I know this may not mean much coming from a stranger… but I truly think you have VERY VERY good odds with this. Catching it early helps SO much, and testicular cancer is one of the more curable ones. My husband had this same type of cancer and had to have one of his removed too. Darrien WILL beat this!!!! I will be keeping you and Darrien and your whole family in my thoughts and prayers. Much love to you and your family!!! <3

They are both gorgeous!! 🙂
I think my favorite batch ever was the safari batch! But they are all gorgeous!
I am super sad to have missed them too, even tho it was such a huge batch. I wonder how many unis there would have to be so there’d be enough for everyone who has been eagerly waiting? How many people were on the “notify” list?
Unfortunately I was a child of the 80s, but I always wished I grew up during my mom’s time. She gave me her old hippy jeans that had HUGE bell bottoms and TOTALLY covered in patches. I used to wear them all the time with pride. 🙂
I loved it when they came back in style a while back!
I love Kade and this sculpt!!! I wish I had a jacket like that!
Congratulations!!!

I love them too! Tried bidding on the Momma but didn’t win her… darn! Congrats to whoever won her!
I don’t mind if some unicorns are auctioned off. I have seen some other “grab bags” auctioned individually from Windstone before, so it wouldn’t break with tradition.
For some reason it would feel a little better if Windstone picked out the auction unis instead of the bidders getting first pick, but really that is a minor point and if Windstone decided to go that way it would be fine with me too. I guess I’ve always thought of the grab-bags as a special event for those with lower budgets so it would be kinda nice if the event remained that way (even tho it benefits everyone, and sometimes I feel like people take advantage of it). Then again there are also the raffle and quest events, so Windstone is already going above and beyond for their lower-budget fans. It would also be really interesting to see how much those with large budgets would pay for the privilege of getting their pick.
I am just grateful for the grab bags in general, it is very kind of Windstone to offer such a great deal for those of us with less funds. I’ve only been able to catch one grab-bag event so far since they sell out basically instantly, but the resulting piece (which I traded to get a uni from a previous batch that I missed but really wanted) is now one of my most beloved treasures. In fact I love her so much that she is inspiring me to want to save up a special fund just to try to bid on some more unique ebay pieces, when I had previously given up out of frustration.
In the end these are beautiful artistic creations that take a ton of time and effort, and if the prices have to rise, or previously grab-bag items go to auction, thats the way it works. Melody and her crew are some of the most thoughtful, compassionate, and generous people I know and I have full faith that they are doing all they can to please their rabid, demanding fans (of which I am one) while also charging enough to make a living for themselves. Looking forward to the next GB event, fingers and toes crossed that I am online when it happens! 🙂
Thank you to everyone at Windstone for all the hard work and kindness you show to us. That you guys even thought to ask our opinions on this matter is yet more proof of your good hearts. <3
(I've worked for many companies before, a lot of small companies that were in it ONLY for profit, they treated their customers and employees accordingly… it is really refreshing to deal with a small company that truly has heart and soul, so thank you!)
Thats a really gorgeous fledgling! I’m so amazed at your generosity to your fans, Melody. So very generous of you guys to hold this raffle every month. 🙂
Thanks for answering my ? . I was guessing almost the same. He is so beautiful. I initially bought him to resell as I could tell right away he was valuable. Unfortunately I have no box or tag. Plus now I have fallen in love w him and all the beautiful art she and the Co. create after looking online…any advice on cleaning he is pretty dusty in a few places and I’m afraid to clean him w a damp cloth…
is that ok?The damp cloth is perfectly fine, I have cleaned mine with a soft, damp cloth for years and never had an issue. I usually use a makeup brush for light dusting, but when my dragons get dirty just a tad bit of water has always helped. Don’t use any kind of chemicals on them to clean them, of course. As long as it’s not one of the red dragons, or a rarer type, like a limited edition or OOAK piece, a wee bit of water should do the trick.
Here’s a link to some other threads about cleaning.

Thank you for this info, I find this useful as well.
Congrats Naughtykitten76! I adore the emperors, they are so regal. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Windstone at a thrift store, you found a killer deal!
I hope this isn’t a silly question, but how do you hold onto a uni for another member?
I could try if I’m around at their release.I’m wondering this too, since theres a limit of one per person…?
