It was a lot. However, it is signed with a COA and will not be produced again. I’ve only ever seen 2 maybe 3 come up for sale in those 10 years, so it really depends on how much you want the piece. Prices have come down on many things since I bought that curlie, and I really like it, I refuse to take a loss, so I just don’t bother with even thinking about selling it because I don’t want to fight about price.
I’d actually be tempted at that amount, if I wasn’t looking at a couple of auctions that are likely to be go very high. But after a brief dry spell, I’ve been buying too many Windstones lately. Not that there really is such a thing as “too many Windstones”, but my wallet thinks there is.
Haha, yes. There’s no such thing as too many Windstones… but can be such a thing as too many Windstones all at once. 😛 Wallets are good at sensing that point!

I hope you’ll post pictures of your case once you get it all arranged and filled. We Windstone fans like looking at other people’s shelves only *slightly* less than we like looking at other people’s Windstones! XD

I’ve heard this – and in fact I think the Windstone site even mentions it, or used to! – but this is the first time I’ve had a cat show interest in any of my Windstones! He’s my newest, and definitely the youngest (he’ll be 4 months old in three days; the other cats in the house are 7 and 10 years old) and apparently that translates to “NOM ALL THE THINGS.” 😛
But oh, boy, it seems he can really pick them. If he absolutely must taste-test the Lapdragon horns, couldn’t he have picked some easily-repaired production piece? No, he went straight for the test paint with extra-fancy painted horns, yikes! Fortunately it seems there was minimal harm done. I haven’t taken the dragon down to examine it closely, so there may be some faint nicks, but at least it’s not visibly mangled. (My mantel shelves are high, and lately I’ve lost my stepladder! So I haven’t been able to climb up to look.)

Heard a noise on the mantel. Look over and the new kitten is standing behind some Lap dragons…

I screeched like a banshee and shooed him off, then rearranged the mantel so they’re on a higher shelf. Knock over some Breyers if you must disturb a mantel display, cat!
Hopefully the rearranging will be a double protection – the Windstones are now on a shelf it’s a little harder for him to get on, plus the Breyers are on a wider shelf so if he knocks them over they’ll just topple onto their sides instead of plummeting off the high shelf onto the bottom shelf.

I love the Sunrise color – it may be my all-time favorite orange Windstone!
Brandi’s “Nectarine” OW is a nice orange-yellow piece, too.

Wow! Very cool. I’ll keep an eye out for that next time I go craft-shopping, for sure; it looks even brighter than my Liquid Leaf.

I think it’s time for Orange Dragons… we have every other gemstone (Emerald, Pearl, Tanzanite, Ruby, Amethyst, etc) I think next we need Topaz
I’d love a yellow or orange gemstone dragon! (And we haven’t had Sapphire, either… I’m still dreaming of Sapphire dragons with yellow eyes appearing in the store someday!)

Heres the pyo rock dragon with his cohorts, for size comparison. I have been doing a bunch of sculpts while I am waiting for the new grabbag batch of lady cats to be cast, so I can start on them. It will take a while for these new sculpts to be finished!
Oh, Melody, I love the blue on the Young dragon in this photo! Is that the Aquamarine color, or something new? (Or the Winter color that’s appeared on a few pieces like the Wizard, maybe??)
I am not sure what color that guy is… he’s too blue for a “Glacier” one. He is an old one I have had sitting in my studio.
Oooh, a Mystery Blue! Well, he sure would make a great LP color for December… 😛 I need more blue dragons in my life. <3

SierraDragon, I love your chase pony! I’m a Breyer collector, too; I slimmed down my collection a lot once I bought a house, but couldn’t give them all up. (And I’ve acquired a few more since then…) I have a few Peter Stone models, too. I didn’t mean to, but they cater to my need for blue decorators that Breyer refuses to meet! 😛
Other things I collect, in a desultory sort of way:
* blue glass vases – I have maybe a dozen or so, which started as an accident and then I just picked up a piece here and there to fill in the shelves.
* teacups and saucers with blue floral designs – I have eight, plus a cream pitcher, all in different patterns (each cup has a matching saucer, but no cup matches another) and they were such fun to hunt for over the years! I might try to find a pot that compliments them someday, but otherwise I’m done; I have a great 9-box shelf to display them on, so it’s the perfect number.
* pewter gryphon figurines – I love gryphons and went through a phase where I bought pretty much anything with a gryphon on it; the pewter ones I held onto, though I got rid of other stuff when I bought my house.
* foreign coins – I collected these as a child; my dad was in the military and would bring them back to me. I don’t actively collect them anymore, but they’re all in a wooden box where I can look at them occasionally. 🙂
* blank journals – another accidental collection! Apparently I just can’t resist a pretty journal even though I have no use for it. Lately I’ve been trying to come up with ways to use them.
* stationery – mostly accidental, but at least it’s also useful! Chagan, can you tell me more about the ‘robot’ – is that a brand name? A model?
The PetZone box looks similar to what my local petstores carry. The price is nice, but the sides are so low that I worry my wall-peeing cat would be peeing right over the edge…
