Gosh, they went quick! I was hoping to catch a sparkle Lady Cat, but I only saw the email today, and they’re gone. Here’s hoping that another batch will come down the pipe at some point! It’s lovely to see Pebbles getting restocks; they’re all so cute.

Long time, no squeak! I’d love some Pebble Red Foxes in fantasy colors (silver sparkle? ) but also in Smoke or all-black (like the black Cougars)! In the same vein, I missed the rainbow sparkle Lady Cat restock, so I’m squeaking for future Pebble Lady Cat releases in silver sparkle or rainbow sparkle, black. Stilll squeaking for that Mixed Real Cat Colors grab bag, too, after however many years! (A tabby GB + a Solids GB would be purrfect!) Maybe some new fantasy colors, too, if you feel like mixing something up, Melody! Pearl white with hints of blue? Purple tabbies with white chests? 🙂
For extremely nerdy reasons I yearn for a Young Qilin in white/silver/icy blue tones, with silver horns. Can I bribe you with candy?? 🙂 And then maybe a Sitting Qilin in Brimstone…
I would love to see a “spring green” or “lemon lime” color on Lap Dragons, something that’s in between the green-green of Emerald and the truly-yellow of Gold, and a metallic black color!
And as always, I’d like to add a Peacock Moon Oriental and a Peacock Rising Oriental to my little Oriental family someday. <3

Updating my squeaks for the new year!
#1. Moon Orientals and Rising Orientals in Peacock. Pretty pretty please; I really want to expand/complete my Oriental family. It’s been forever since we had Orientals in stock!
#2. Pebble Lady Cats! I’d love a restock of the “basic 6” colorshift colors, plus silver, solid black/solid white, and maybe a grab bag edition of tabbies? (Ideally split into a ‘solid tabby’ group and a ‘tabby with white’ group, so buyers could at least guarantee markings or no markings, but I’d be open to other splits, too; as brown tabbies versus orange tabbies, classic versus mackerel tabbies, or ???)
#3. Both Qilin sculpts in Jet Black & Snow White. We need Yin and Yang qilins!
#4. Onyx Moonstone as a new Production color. I love everything about it, but especially the black eggs for the hatching sculpts! 🙂
#5. A true black monochrome colorway. Black with hints of deep grey, and silver or pewter-toned (or even glossy black) horns/accents.
#6. Sitting & Rising Loaf Pebble Dragons restocked in Silver Rainbow Sparkle!
#7. A batch of White Secret Keepers, please? It’s one of the very few sculpts missing from my White collection, so I’d love a chance to add one this year.
#8. Production Mouse Wizards in some of the new colors! Tanzanite, Elven, Brimstone? Jet Black & Snow White? Desert Opal? Calypso? I’m really sorry about your cat Jinyxy. I can definitely relate to that kind of loss. Maybe if the capybaras do really well the concept you’re describing might be reconsidered. We can hope anyway.
The thing with the castings though that exist in Melody’s office are just that, they are more than likely castings from the old molds. You can’t make a new mold from a gypsum casting. Gypsum castings are what the molds make. The original sculpture they make the molds from is an entirely different material that I believe is baked before a mold gets cast from it. THAT is the missing piece of the puzzle that makes it a lot more difficult to do then it sounds like it would be. I would image at this point wherever THAT key is, it’s probably deteriorated quite a bit and would require a lot of restoration before a new mold could be made off of it. Melody can correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m fairly certain the gypsum statues that you are seeing are of little to no help in the mold making process.
thanks for understanding, losing her definately was a very hard loss….I guess I’ll just keep up hope that the capys do well and maybe meerkats will follow, or maybe one of the few people with one of the old ones or the Ebay one wants to sell their’s to me one day!
understood, my brain keeps thinking of the lions’ new mold and the baby bears and wondering why they worked but I dunno, picture of lion’s quote about it below…..perhaps Melody you could clarify on all this?
A very late reply, but that description you posted only says that they didn’t have any old *castings* of the lion, so more were made from new molds. As drag0nfeathers says, the key here is that there’s an original sculpture that’s used to make the mold, and then castings are made from the mold. Presumably they did still have the original lion sculpture, so new molds could be made from it and then used to produce new castings.
Your kitty is very beautiful, and losing her must have been a great loss. I hope one day you can find a Windstone piece that will serve as an equally beautiful memorial!

I’m so sorry to hear about your mother! If I knew her it was only by her Forum name, but there’s a good chance given how long I’ve been in it myself.

Drag0nfeathers is a great resource if you do decide to let some pieces go – she’s been in the hobby a long time, has repaired some of my pieces personally and was great to work with, and has lots of experience in packing and shipping Windstone pieces so they don’t break in transit, as they’re a lot more fragile than non-collectors may expect.
This community is also a good resource for identifying pieces; there’s an identification thread for that purpose here: https://windstoneeditions.com/forums/topic/windstone-identification-thread/ if you should ever need it – for pieces you want to sell, or pieces you want to keep and just want to match up to a box or note in an insurance record.

Just dropping by because browsing the store reminded me that I haven’t squeaked for small Flapcats in Desert Opal yet. Could we get some bird- and bat-winged small Flapcats in this gorgeous color, please? I think they would look just as lovely as the big guy!
Also squeaking for Lady Cat and Fennec Pebbles in various out-of-stock colors (rainbow sparkle, colorshift green/silver) as well as some other feline colors that have only appeared on other Pebbles – Black, Silver, and Smoke would all be gorgeous!

I know exactly what Melody means about not having room for bookends, my shelves are always (too) full. But I would still make room for these!
Speaking of where Windstone products are sold, do they ever have tables at science fiction/fantasy/comic conventions? I think the figurines would be popular at one of those. Superior to the usual run of merchandise available at them.
We’ve never done fantasy cons ourselves though sometimes other people sell our stuff at them. Big Windstones aren’t a good “con” item because they are fragile and heavy and kinda ‘spensive.
I bought a Wolf Male Griffin at a convention in 2009!
And then had to fly back home with him. My backpack felt like it weighed 400 lbs by the time I could take him out and put him on a shelf!
