Dang it. I did ask for fuzzies, but I didn’t specifically say “Love Fuzzy” or “Be My Fuzzy Valentine.” Is it possible if I sent an email with the order number and a “pretty pretty please be my valentine fuzzy” I could get a festive fuzzy buddy?
I snagged one of the odd ball red foxes and a regular red fox. I’m so super excited about them. I really wish I could have afforded a grab bag wolf as well, but I think I need to wait at least until pay day. Hopefully stock will last long enough (although I won’t hold my breath, since that’s not for another two weeks and I know how much folks around here love their windstones). Here’s hoping everybody gets something they want!!
Speaking of things people *want* — returning to the point of this thread :p — I have never forgotten the standing kirin and still wait for them hopefully. Also eager about this PYO snerl, the tanuki I saw posted on the FB page the other day, as well as PYO orientals. So much to look forward to! This last year has been very exciting, and I hope that this year will continue to be filled with beautiful things. 🙂
I was waiting for them to jump out of carts, too, and luckily managed to grab both. BUT after some thought, I decided I really can’t afford all of them right now. So I settled for a regular red fox and an odd ball red fox, because those are really the ones I feel like I wanted the most. If there are any GB wolves still around at payday, presuming I know what my electric and gas bills are going to be, I will probably pick one up. I’m pretty excited about this though. 🙂 The foxes were what I wanted the most and seemed to have a much smaller batch, so I’m very curious and excited to see what it will turn up to look like. I’m hoping for one with some grey in it.
EEEEK what a great thing to wake up to/find out this morning. Seriously, the last month or so has been kind of rough… work running me a bit ragged, post holidays blues, missing my family, being cold cold COLD all the time… and my computer’s been behaving very funny and making odd grinding noises like it might die. 🙁 This was such a wonderful pick me up…. Thank you to everyone who voted for my entry, and to the judges, and the incredibly generous folks at Windstone Editions for hosting this in the first place. This is the first big thing I think I’ve ever won (okay since 5th grade… I think I won a sony walkman in 5th grade? lol) and it really means a lot to me. I am going to cherish my prize forever, whatever it may be. Also, a hearty congratulations to the first and second place winners as well, as well as a thank you to everyone else who participated but didn’t place–you guys all made this quest fun and exciting and a stiff challenge!!
Some really stunning paint jobs in here already!! And I really like this new sculpt for the mother griffin. It is new, isn’t it? Are there any regular production of these? I’d like one, but I’m pretty sure I can’t afford eBay prices right now.
December 28, 2014 at 8:35 am in reply to: Quest 18 – Box Opening Quest – Entries open until 12/31 #923526I finished my video, technically, but when I tried to import it from my iPad, it’s not displaying properly. Somehow an extra minute and 55 seconds is there and it’s lost a bunch of stuff I put on. 🙁 I’m not sure what happened or how to fix it, but I’m going to try since there is still a little (but not much) time left.
These have all looked so great so far. 🙂 My AWD tried to arrive in the mail yesterday I think, but I wasn’t home when the postman attempted delivery. (You’d think by now he’d know I’m never home at noon, but maybe that’s just the way his route works out.) Anyway, I went ahead and called to reschedule delivery for Friday, and I’m debating whether or not I’ll open it then or if I’ll wait till Christmas like I was originally planning.
I still want those standing kirins. I’d like them in GB, though; the pearly white bores me. Or perhaps you could do some in the white for those who want that, and also do a GB set. I’d rather pay a little bit more for something that feels special.
I’d also be interested in wolves. Don’t know if I’ll have money for them depending on when you put em out, but if nothing else I enjoy seeing them and I’m sure they’d sell like hot cakes.
December 7, 2014 at 12:05 pm in reply to: 11/5/14 Grab Bag Baby Poad picture thread (Hoppies and Hippies) #922733Ela_Hara, your rainbow hoppies are to die for!!! Congrats!
Yeah, I also kind of wish I’d been able to afford / snag one of the GBs after I saw the whole class photo BUT you know, I was thinking about it some more, and I think that because there are so *few* that I desire with the same intensity that I like the AWD pattern that it would have been a mistake to pass up the AWD certainty for a grab bag. I too am hoping for a darker one (and for that matter, I hope I get one with a stripe on its head!) but I think regardless I’m going to be thrilled. And either way, I’ll be looking forward to seeing what other people get. 🙂
I think mine will probably take a week or a week and a half to arrive, btw, and I will probably opt to open it on Christmas day with my GB hoppy so I won’t be able to post my photo(s) for a while yet. 🙂
Oh wow. I hadn’t seen the class photo of the grab bags till now. They’re really gorgeous, I’m actually a little sad that I couldn’t afford both. Ah, well. I guess that’s life; you can’t have everything. I’ll be looking forward to people opening / posting theirs though!
Oh my god!!! I got one!!! One of the African Wild dog ones. I am SO EXCITED. Two years ago, I went with some friends to South Africa to a Cheetah preserve and a wild bird rehabilitation center and got to see bat eared foxes and African wild dogs for the first time. I actually have a stuffed animal of an African Wild dog. (Not like a stuffed corpse or anything horrible like that, just a plushie.) This is also my first pebble animal ever. The paint job on these little guys is just fabulous; I’m surprised they weren’t classified as a grab bag as well like the hoppies. Maybe just a bit too uniform in color?
Anyway. I am just so beyond thrilled, I can’t wait to receive mine; it was small enough that I could afford to have it shipped to me in Japan so I will get to enjoy him before July. 🙂 Although they didn’t appeal to me as much personally for a variety of reasons, I look forward to seeing the results of those who managed to get grab bag versions as well as all the awd siblings :DD
Damn. I really wish I had some money for these unicorns and blonde lions going out right now because they are STUNNING. Alas, I am broke broke broke until pay day. (And even then should probably NOT be spending.)
Seriously, though, I would love to see a grab bag batch of unicorns or kirin with these kinds of natural colorations. I would be all over that.
I’m torn. Brown dragons really aren’t my thing but… I’d love the chance to win something. Guess I’ll enter and see what happens either way.
Im glad to hear Casper’s okay. He’s such a cute cat. All that fur! He looks very snuggly…
