-J R R TolkienI am ashamed to say that I’ve done this exact same thing multiple times…missing out on auctions because I forgot about them at the crucial moment. I’ve kicked myself a lot!! ^_^ So don’t feel so bad, Spark, you’re not the only one!

-J R R TolkienLOL! I saw em first!! 😈 Though thankfully I don’t have ANY money to spend on them right now… ^_^ I’d LOVE to have the hatching empress though.

-J R R TolkienSame seller has a jade coiled up, too.
Oh, shoot – and a jade hatching empress??? I’ve never seen one of those before…

-J R R TolkienIt LOOKS like there’s another JADE scratching dragon up on ebay right now…

-J R R TolkienAre you sure? The last time I asked, which was a couple months ago or so, Karen at the Windstone office said they don’t have any at the factory and weren’t making any more…did they change their minds?

-J R R TolkienLOL – alright, well, the Tinder Box did in fact somehow manage to get a peacock old warrior from the factory for me. But of course I jumped the gun when I thought they woulnd’nt be able to and bought one from somewhere else. And while I’m in no way required to buy this guy, I still feel a little bad. SO – does anyone want a pea. OW??? I can buy him for you and ship him to you if you give me the money. ^_^ The store wants $199 plus tax for him…I know that’s a bit pricey, but it’s all I’ve got down here. And he is pretty hard to find at this point. Let’s see, with CA tax its….approximately $216.
I do not know if it is standard practice, but they have allowed me to pay for things on lay away before. I can ask if you are interested.
I don’t know what he looks like – just let me know if you are interested and I’m going to check him out on Saturday. If I can take pictures, I will, otherwise I’ll give a verbal report on his color quality – and I’m pretty darn picky! 😈

-J R R TolkienDecember 8, 2006 at 12:15 am in reply to: can someone help who has the wolf and the gryphon? #514816Well, whithout easy access to a camera this instant, I can say that the wolves are just a teesy bit bigger than a PYO kirin…they are considerably smaller than a griffin.

Look at them closely. Notice they have no flaws, no bubbles, no yellowish or greenish cast…They are optically clear lead crystal globes that we have custom coated with a reflective mirrored back.
The candle lamp eyes are marbles, but the globe that the innerlight cowpie dragon is holding in his paws and the one the Cat Wizard is holding are the lead crystal balls. The frog wizard has a larger lead crystal ball of the same quality but without the coating on it.Sorry! I guess I’m not a connosseiur of glass globes… as flawless as they may be, they still look like marbles to me. But at least now I know they’re better. ^_^

-J R R TolkienI’ve been bothered by the wing problem before too, in respect to their being able to fly, but using what she does for her sculptures, there’s no WAY Melody could make them much bigger. Plus, even if they’d be more “correct,” I really don’t think they’d be as pretty or graceful or Windstoneish…I see them as dragons who used to fly and evolved back down to living on the ground. Maybe they use their wings in displays now. Show off for each other, get the girl, scare off interlopers…things like that. 😉
I don’t like the sitting spectrals wings…for some reason, raised wings in that pose look a little funky…like raised hackles or something…but I LOVE the wings on the rising spectral. I love the way they’re painted compared to the other dragons’ wings, too.
