Oh boo, missed them! I’ll have to make sure I check every chance I can get tomorrow. I’ve been too busy to dream up paint schemes, but this gives me a chance to daydream a little while I’m at work 🙂

Heartbreaking 🙁 I’m terribly sorry to hear of how this has all turned out, and I hope you can both get a refund and don’t have to send the pieces back, 4dragonlove! He CAN be repaired! Folks on the forum have the technology! Better – faster – more dragony 🙂 Seriously though, there can be a happy ending out of all of this, despite the fact that this poor fellow will never be the same. My peacock emperor arrived in the mail smashed years back, and I resculpted his missing pieces myself (didn’t have another to cast from). The process made me much more appreciative of Melody’s skill and level of detail in her pieces, and has made that broken emperor my personal favorite piece despite that fact that my work is by no means perfect.
Keep your hopes up! I know a lot of other forum members are doing the same for you.

Congrats, I’m jealous! I’m lucky enough to be the proud housekeeper for an old green emp, and have been hunting for a brown forever. The last time I had a shot at one on Ebay was years back, and the listing was suddenly pulled. When I messaged the seller to ask why, they told me it had fallen off of its shelf and broken. I even tried to make an offer for the pieces, heh! But they’d gone into the dumpster by then. What a shame! I hope the big fella finds his way to you safely.

Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences! I especially like the ideas of using clothes as packing material. I won’t have the ability to stack them loose in my car, but since I have to move them too I can always use some of my bulky winter coats as liners between a bunch of the smaller boxes inside the bigger box. I hope everything will go smoothly, heh! I’ll be taking pictures as I pack and move things just to keep track of what all went into which box – if I come up with anything new that works (or mistakes that didn’t) I’ll be sure to share.

Thanks too Amy Jane. My vehicle may be towed behind the truck, and in either case it’s going to be full up with our houseplants so they don’t get sun starved on the several day drive. I agree the car probably has much better suspension though. I’ll try to cram a few of my particularly special pieces in there to make sure they’re extra safe.

I have a bunch! I have a spreadsheet list of them on my other computer but won’t be able to get to it until Sunday. I know there’s a Sliver Queen among them (unless my fiance grabbed it for one of his decks, hah!). I’ll PM you then 🙂

FYI this show is done by the same company that did the Walking With Dinosaurs arena show. The animatronics/puppetry is just astounding, I would go if I could just for that alone!

Aww, completely missed ’em while at work. Oh well, these didn’t really ‘speak’ to me as much as the unis and poads have. I say that now, of course, but I’m sure I’ll be kicking myself when the really pretty close-up pics start coming in on the forums 🙂

Have to post pictures of this lovely fella I received in trade. He’s a beautiful zebra-cuttlefish-appaloosa! Soft brown eyes and a sparkly jonquil gem. An interesting note: the felt pad on this uni was originally a little off center over the forefeet. I’ve since peeled it up and fiddled with the positioning, but I thought it was cool to see that Melody painted the foreleg stripes all the way around the legs, even on the bottom of the piece 🙂

Well I hope whoever won that lovely emperor enjoys the big fella (or contacts me if they have buyers remorse! :)). I hoped to give him a good home but lost out at the last minute. All’s fair in love and Ebay, heh!

I have a mother dragon just like the one listed, as well as a hatcher that is halfway between this heavy gold and the normal white. The mother’s finish has a lot of crazing on it in places, but I don’t know whether that’s due to smoke exposure, other treatment by its former owner, or the way the factory finish has aged.

Good call fatalbeauty! Originally I didn’t think that one matched, since the one in the group photo (in around the 1 o’clock position, near the center) looks like it has white bands behind the eyes. But upon closer inspection it looks like that’s the one! The group photo is really bright versus a lot of at-home photos, so that’s probably what threw me. Thanks! 🙂

I’m still hoping to see more oryx/gemsbok unis surface, as well as the wild dog with the red gem closest to the center of the group picture. Anyone hiding these little guys? 🙂
