This lovely fellow arrived for me! He’s got lots of gold/green oak leaves and gold spots over a dusting of glittery dark green on his back. There’s a subtle shading on his chest and throat of glittery green to brighter green, with a very dark blue on his throat.
Look at how his throat markings dim down without a direct light source – cool!
Though he’s lovely, there are definitely others that caught my eye. He’ll have a trade ad up shortly!Forever seeking: Blackwatch the raffle Old Warrior, Jennifer Miller's pieces, and GB Baby unis!
Wahoo, time to dive headlong into my faux fur stash 😀

August 3, 2015 at 1:08 am in reply to: Beautiful Mint OOAK Fuffy Fantasy Poseable Critters from Worms & Bones For Trade or Sale #932804Oh my goodness, I wish I’d seen this thread earlier! The new owners of these cuties are lucky people 🙂
I can also attest to how awesome Worms and Bones’s work is, I have a couple of critters myself and am eagerly awaiting a third from their studio sale a while back. As if the lovely sculpting and detailed sewing weren’t enough, I think my favorite thing about their pieces is the plastic ball-and-socket armature. Wire armatures can rust or break over time, which is a shame.
PrarieVixen, good to know there’s another fan of their work here on the forum (and now more, thanks to you!). I’ll be PMing you about that bear… 🙂

Pretties all around! I’ve got a fancy one in the mail, and I can’t wait! I also didn’t think I’d like the ‘plain’ ones as much, but the ones pictured so far are just lovely 🙂 Thanks everyone for sharing!

Natashavonlemke, that dark bronze on yours is very pretty! In your first picture it looks very much like there are little ‘threads’ in the bronze, very similar to tigers eye. Thanks for sharing!

Agreeing with the chorus here too! All the best of health for you and your little one!

Here’s my wolf Heartwood! I was really hoping to get a solid one that had big wide bands. In the pictures they reminded me of stripes in sandstone formations, but with his colors he looks more like a rich piece of polished wood. Striking copper eyes too! He’s perfect and will be staying here with me 🙂
Melody, another round of thanks for these beauties! The colors on these are so rich and the edges of the brindle markings are soft and realistic, even at so small a scale. I feel lucky to have this little guy!

May 22, 2015 at 12:05 am in reply to: Grab Bag Pebble Wolves in the Brindle colors are in the store now! 5-21-15 #929840I probably shouldn’t have either 🙂 But I snagged one that hopped out of a cart and felt too lucky to let it pass by!
I myself actually don’t like the ones with the white masks and paws all that much – but there are a handful with really broad bands that look like layers in sandstone. They’re lovely and I’ve got my fingers crossed!

Ciarnet, what you do with the cutouts in the foam shelf liner is actually similar to what is done to protect museum collections from earthquake damage 🙂 The idea is basically a more display-friendly version of how large Windstone pieces get boxed at the factory. The foam pads pieces in case they tip, and the cut-outs prevent pieces from ‘walking’ from vibration.
Using big chunks of styrofoam from appliance boxes, etc. can add additional bracing for large and tall pieces. They can be braced against the back of a shelf, and can be carved to conform to the shape of the piece. They can either go against a shelf wall or between pieces in out-of-sight places.
I haven’t taken any measures to protect my collection in this way, but I definitely should 🙁 Between earthquakes and a curious cat, I shouldn’t be taking chances!
