Talk about a heart attack drag0n! Faye is a b$tch. I’d be contemplating making her into a muff after a stunt like that! This is why I’m going to route of wooden barristers. Only glass on the doors to worry about. I’d have nightmares of glass shelves collapsing otherwise. *pats drag0n*

Coincidentally, Ciarnet and I ended up painting for each other. Â My request was very open to artist choice and this is the cute little foop I received. Â Thank you Ciarnet! Â It’s a cutie!

I approve of the books, particularly the CCENT/CCNA and BGP books. The bookends are pretty cool too.
According to tracking, Leigha should have received her PYO on Feb. 23. Shows as delivered. I can post photos if needed for her.
I’m tired and been fairly perpetually sick most of last year (I stopped being a caregiver of several years in Nov. 2015 when my Mom died (sepsis and kidney failure) and my body didn’t know how to adjust from running 100mph to not; it was like hitting a brick wall). Sibling refuses to sleep in his room anymore. He’s lazy and just has his bed covered in laundry, dirty and clean, unsorted and various other things, so he just sleeps in the living room and tends to cough and spread his germs all over the place when sick, rather than staying put. He contributes nothing to the household and can barely hold a job longer than 2-3 months (he’s an addict and gets fired frequently for not showing up when he gets that ‘itch’). I’m scheduled for sinus surgery in April to hopefully alleviate the frequency and severity of the sinus colds (getting the sinus passages widened). Adding to this, I received no help around the house from the holidays onward unexpectedly from even my Dad, so I’m pulling double duty with work and getting all my projects on my to do list done, as well as still trying to sort through everything I inherited from my Mom (by default being the only girl) when she passed away. Dad also started seeing a lady (friends with benefits, nothing more), which felt very awkward during the holidays, considering it was less than a year after she passed. I went from being his right hand helper to being out of the loop almost overnight and it doesn’t seem to register when I’ve brought things up with him, so I just don’t say anything any more. I just keep my head down. I feel like I’m barely treading water some days (not as bad as the holidays were, but some days are rough). Being the only girl now is also tough and I’m not always taken seriously because of it on some days. Miss having her to talk to. Tired of not getting help around here. Tired of having my sinuses feel like they’re going to explode.

I received a lovely Winter themed Foo Dog male from Kujacker over a week ago (Kujacker, please check your forum messages… I sent you a message shortly after receiving him). This is my first chance to be able to get some photos up. I tried to capture the blue interference paint, but it looks like the sun was just too strong on his white base (they are cell phone pics). He really is lovely in person! Thank you Kujacker!
My swapee should be receiving their pyo Friday according to tracking.
Those are the really, really old eyes (the dragon doesn’t have a pad underneath, does she?). The paint is pulling away from the eyes (the eyes used shortly after were fired on and don’t have that issue). The ones from dreamingtreestudio aren’t the same (they are resin, not glass). Other than getting something from Windstone, Tohickon or similar taxidery glass eyes (https://www.tohickonglasseyes.com/) will be your best bet. Tohickon will also do custom, but it can take some time (I have gotten custom eyes done through them, but larger for a non-Windstone project).
I really like the idea of earthy colors for a ‘hearth’ dragon, so the Sandgrouse works really well for me. Maybe even a greenish/brown/grey, like a stone covered in dirt and moss or warm colors like the fire. The Carnelian doesn’t work for me on this sculpt if I can only choose one… I think it’s the lack of contrast or the combo? Personal preference. Lighter tones to highlight, probably would appeal to me more for a reddish toned one. Not sure if that ‘mossy stone’ look would actually look good on a sculpt though. I’m perfectly happy with a Sandgrouse (if they restock when it matches my paycheck before selling out 😉 or similar dragon.
