      Here’s mine!
I may consider trading since lavender’s not really one of my favorite colors. Feel free to shoot me a message.

        Happy New Year to all!

My main resolution is to succeed in graduating from the self-paced online transcription course I’ve been taking and to then get established with some of my own direct clients so that I can quit working for the low-paying  transcription company I’ve been working for in these recent months! It’s daunting, but exciting.

It’s been a resolution for quite some time now for my husband and I to move and be roommate free, but I’m done saying “We’re going to do it this year!” I’ll just say that I hope this year we at least get decently closer to being ready to do so. My establishing some of my own clients and getting paid decently will help with that if all goes well.

It’s strange how mild our winter has been so far here in Colorado Springs. Very, very little snow (pretty much just a couple instances of flurries), and temperatures not as cold as usual. Not that I’m complaining in the least! I’m from California and am not a fan of the winters here (I’ve been here more than a decade now though). This is my first winter working from home, so I don’t actually have to go out except that I do voluntarily go to the gym most days. But I used to have to get up at 5 AM every day, drive to work in the snow and ice before dawn, and be outside off-and-on throughout the day to take the dog packs at work out to potty and to clean up after them. Now that I finally have the ability to stay inside most of the time, the winter is taking it easy on us!  (For now.)

Wow, you sure have a lot of pretty kitties, Copper83! I would LOVE to visit your house! Lol. One of my cats is long haired (Maine Coon) and I love his fluff. It’s so endearing. I just give him a quick brush once a day (tends to take less than a minute), usually while he’s eating/distracted because although he enjoys the brushing and rubs against the brush, it also tends to make him feisty if he’s not distracted by food. I rarely have to trim anything off of him, but I do once in a while if he gets a little mat. What happens more is that I do sometimes find a small piece of turd or some globbed litter in the fluff at his rear end, which usually brushes out or pulls out with a tissue, lol. When I was gone visiting family on vacation, I instructed my husband to check Thor’s butt. He was kind of like, “What??” Lol. Doesn’t happen super often, but it does happen! Small price to pay for the enjoyment of his fluff! <3

I’m sorry to hear that, Bodine! Very rough to lose that many family members in that time span.

I’d like to squeak for the white & blue “daydream” test paint scheme that Gina’s been doing to become limited production! I absolutely love the color! I know it would be popular. So beautiful!

                        Very cute dogs, everyone!
I have not had my own dogs ever since moving out on my own at age 19 (I’m 31 now and a cat owner). But since I spent a number of years working at a couple of different dog daycares, I felt like I had many dogs! Hopefully you guys won’t mind if I kinda just share a bunch of photos! Lol.

None of these were actually taken by me. I tended to steal some photos whenever my employer posted a bunch online.

Here are just a few of the regulars, some of the ones that I cared for pretty much daily or at least on a regular basis.

This is Beau, a super cute, sweet boy. His main quirk was that he knew how to open our kennel gates, so we had to put an extra clip-thing on his kennel latch whenever he was put in for a rest period. Any time that an employee would forget to do so, or if we failed to instruct a new employee to give him a clip on his kennel, he would strategically wait until all humans were out of sight and then open his kennel, then go over to any kennel in which there was a dog that had been given lunch (some owners sent lunch to daycare with their dogs and some, like Beaus’, did not), and he would open their kennel to steal their food! Usually as soon as the person who put him away had exited that row of kennels, they would hear the sound of his kennel latch opening and rush to remedy their mistake.

This is Mia. She was one of the absolute feistiest of them all, but I’ve always had a soft spot for German shepherds, particularly since they were the main breed I grew up with. She also was the most avid poop eater, to the point that we usually would briefly stick her in a time out kennel whenever we first let the dogs out and most of them were going potty. She was also such a sweetheart, though. She got a lot of petting and hugs from me whenever she wasn’t acting up.

This little guy is Titus! I always loved bunching together that tuft of hair on top of his head, which usually sits flat, and wet it so that it would stand up straight.

This good looking gal is Tasha, a super sweet doberman that I loved to hug. Her favorite past-time was peeing in the doggie pools whenever we had them out. She was so ninja-like about it! She would get in with lightning speed, pop a quick squat, drop a little tinkle, and jet out! We had to dump and refill the pools so many times because of her.

This one is Mizzen. He had a brother named Jib who was a black version of him. Every once in a while after their owner got them groomed, they came back in with a haircut like this. Just cracked us up!

This is Ute, in my opinion one of the most handsome boys ever. The owners adopted another puppy who was also a Rhodesian Ridgeback and would just stand behind him most of the time, and would play with the dogs that Ute would play with. Absolute cuties and sweeties.

I can’t seem to find a picture of my top favorite, a red and white husky named Anja. She’s so beautiful, cute, and sweet! She’s one of the very few dogs that I always trusted to behave perfectly in playgroup. And I just love huskies. After my years of working with dogs, huskies became my top favorite breed!

Now that I don’t work in the dog daycare industry anymore, I might feel compelled to get my own dog again at some point. I would need to move first, as most breeds aren’t allowed by the landlords of my current house. For now, I’m happy with my kitties at home!

^ OH MY GOSH! Cuteness overdose!

Ahem, anyway, thanks to the folks who answered about the post disappearing glitch. That’s interesting and unfortunate. I’ll try to refrain from editing in the future!

Well, here it goes again! Attempt number two.
Firstly, GREAT thread! I don’t get tired of cat photos. I’m kind of a crazy cat lady. I only have two, but they’re my best friends and my babies.  My husband may get slightly jealous sometimes…

                          Meet Thomas and Thor.

This is Thor. Despite his name, he didn’t grow particularly large for a Maine Coon, although neither of my boys are small kitties. Thor is my fluffy babe who always has to be with me wherever I am in the house.

This is Thomas. Here, he’s napping with his head on my lap. He spends the cooler months of the year mostly hibernating beneath a blanket, usually totally covered, head and all. He’s usually next to me beneath a blanket while I’m working on my laptop. Sometimes his brother walks on him and gets surprised, lol!

Here I am video gaming a bit awkwardly with Thor in my lap. He views my game time as snuggle time. If I lie back, he lays on my torso and I have to peer over him.

One more random photo from Thor’s recent adventure in a cabinet drawer.

Okay… I just made a post with some photos and when I went to edit it (I almost always end up tweaking my posts when I read them over), it seems to have disappeared. Is it showing up for you guys, or should I post again?

Thank goodness this story had a happy ending! Nice job telling the story, lol.
No, thankfully I haven’t had any similar experiences. My Windstones are all on sturdy wooden shelves, and most of my Windstones are dragons that are heavy enough they can’t really be knocked down by kitties, but the layout of the shelves and my placement of the pieces makes it pretty difficult for cats to knock things down, anyway. So that hasn’t happened! My kitties are pretty good about staying off of stuff when I’m around (although one will occasionally start to venture onto a shelf and stop while meowing a protest as soon as I scold him)– but I imagine they sometimes roam the forbidden places in my absence… but thankfully, as I said, I don’t have much to worry about.

Well, it sucks you have to deal with replacing your display case, but congratulations on your Windstones being unharmed! That’s amazing.
