I also like seeing in progress pics. It gives me an idea of how other people go about doing theirs. He’s looking nice so far!

I started in 5th grade on the flute. I didn’t pick up the piccolo until college because we didn’t have flutes in the marching band. I did five seasons of marching band. Some of the most fun I’ve had in my life!

Today I performed my piece in a big chamber music concert for which we spent a week preparing… so relieved! It was a flute/viola/piano trio, a very odd combination! (I was flute.)
Awesome! I played flute and piccolo, though it’s been awhile………I want to go to my college’s alumni band day this fall, but my chops are NOT ready.

Your Mephisto is gorgeous. I have a small AA resin painted by Kathy. I would be tempted, but I should work on getting some of my nekids painted first. 🙂

Yes! Welcome! I have been on the forum for less than a year and I am constantly amazed at the genuine people on here. Not to mention the awesome people at Windstone! Your kirin is a fitting ending to this batch. He’s a keeper!

Fun note: he was done 100% with pearlex pigments, but I didn’t apply the powder directly (so messy!) I mixed it into some Golden medium instead. And he was my first try and sort of semi-dry brushing over black instead of antiquing with black. For gem tones like this it is the perfect method, though the lightest orange and yellow ere SO transparent they needed way too many coats.
I thought those hues looked familiar! This is how I did it. I haven’t done a whole piece with the Pearl-Ex, but parts of one. Gorgeous job! That black base really changes the look!

Thanks guys! And yes, he was antiqued in a dark blue. The claws were originally black, but I painted white pearl over them. Kinda gives them a silver look to the claws. The horns were never painted with black, just white pearl only.

So I hadn’t touched this guy for three months. i finally finished antiquing him last night. I touchd up some spots today, sealed him and added the amethyst jewel and eyes. The eyes are by dreamingtree and fit his paint job perfectly! He also has interference purple on some of the purple scales. He’s being offered for $150. I tried making a sales ad for him but his photos are too big to upload on there. I might just have to link them.

I’m loving all the photos of everyone’s swaps! There are some gorgeous pieces here!
Hannah, I am so glad you like the dragon I did. I go to the beach every year with my family so the pic you sent really resonated with me!
Here is my swap piece by dragonmedley! I had given several options/ideas for my swapee to choose from. One was a kitsune in a safari/natural pattern like leopard or tiger. She loves servals, so that’s what she painted my piece as! I LOVE it! The pattern is gorgeous and I love the every other tail pattern as well. Stripes and spots; you can’t go wrong! It’s my first kitsune, and she is quite the mischievous looking girl! I think she might convince my other Windstones (especially the pebbles) to do something naughty.

that cougar sculpt is lovely, so I am down for whatever they get painted as.
But with all these little baby kirins running about now, any chance of doing some production color parents? The shenanigans these little guys can get into… they need some parental supervision and my PYO kirin is just not cutting it, she is more like a teenager.
We are still having problems with the gold adult kirin horns.
We do have a supply of silver colored kirin horns, though, so maybe we can do some color of adults that goes with silver. How about silver-horned ki-rins with black fur, deep peacock blue scales, and silver or metallic blue eyes. Call them Midnight ki-rins.
I like this idea! Sounds gorgeous!
