I’ve been looking forward to the PYO oriental so much over the last–year? year and a half? two years? not sure how long it’s been now–and I am so excited to see how good it’s looking. I really hope that Melody can finish him up and get the castings started for them within the next month or two. I want to paint this PYO so bad, and I’m trying to hold off on ordering any kitsune until these fine fellows are available as well.

Best of luck finding something Azurielle. Don’t give up hope; when a door closes a window opens.

I love the blending on this PYO’s feathers, and the stripes on the face and the legs came out so clear and thick! I’m really curious how you managed it? I tried making purple tiger stripes (it’s a fantasy tiger look) on one of my PYOs but they look a little on the transparent side in a few spots.

I would be really excited to see a cougar up for grabs. I wanted to get one of the GB ones myself, but because I’m currently out of work / looking for a job, I couldn’t afford to participate when they came out.

This is so cute! Is the quest still going / when is the due-date? I’d like to participate too if there’s still time.

I’m also skipping the tanukis in the hopes of a cougar, although I do hope that maybe some more plain, naturally shaded tanukis will be available someday. I really like the sculpt, it was just that the color schemes / fantasy style really didn’t appeal to me so much. HOWEVER, I am really interested in all of the categories for the cougar and I’m so excited that I am finally stateside so that shipping to me will be faster and easier. 🙂 Now just to convince my mother that just *one* windstone would be okay, pretty, pretty please. (being unemployed is the pits 🙁 )

What part of my body could I sell to convince you to do a limited edition of the jaguar oriental sculpts and/or more sculpts in the rose gold scheme like the baby griffin, melody?

Jesus that jaguar oriental on the last page was just stunning. Way to go Chloe nabbing that one. I’m sure it’s too much to hope for a limited release of something like that… but… damn. Something like that, I’d be willing to pay for. That was just a stunning, stunning piece.

I just love all of these. Man. I’d love another round of these fantasies at some point; they’re just so lovely.

Wow, most people definitely don’t have weight *loss* during their pregnancy. Not that I think anyone would envy the situation you’re in; it sounds super stressful. I am keeping my fingers crossed that things continue to stabilize for you and your kiddo. (Making a pregnant woman work 12 hour shifts!? Yikes, what are they thinking?)

Yeah I think that’s the one. I wasn’t sure if it would be considered second or third photo since there is the big picture with the smaller group on top. I’m really pleased he’s quite cute!

I got pictures from my mother! Not very good ones, sadly, but then, she’s not really a photographer and it’s a cell phone camera with poor kitchen lighting. I had to do some adjustments in photoshop so the colors/details could be a bit more clear, which means they may not be the most accurate.

I have mixed feelings about this GB! First, I was really torn about whether I wanted one with a lot of bright colors or one that was a more natural look. This combines both and I actually really like that. I also like that there’s silvery blue scales!! I love blue. The markings around its eyes are SUPER CUTE and I like that there’s not too much white (just around the face some) and it has dark eyes. The golden hooves are such a cute little touch. The one thing I’m not sure how I feel about are the hand-painted multicolor scales on its body; because the picture’s lighting is so poor, it’s really hard for me to tell what colors they are and how they look proper. I’ll probably have to go see if I can’t track it down in the class photo. Overall though I think I’m pretty happy with the little guy, so unless I get a good offer I’m probably going to keep him.

EDIT: I think I found him in the third pic, top row, second to the left. I got my mom to show him on Skype and he’s quite lovely. 🙂 I’ll probably be keeping him.

Peaceful protest occurs because people feel like enacting their rights as citizens will bring change; there is hope for victory. Rioting is a symptom of despair and anger at the system at large, taken out on the community because targeting the real sources of perceived inequality is impossible for one reason or another. It’s kind of like… a political tantrum; people get to a breaking point. I am in no way advocating rioting or violence against the community and/or police, by the way, just pointing out that the reasons these two things happen are entirely different.

Some of the articles I’ve been reading have suggested that if things had been handled better in the beginning, things might not have happened this way, based on interviews with teachers and average people in the area at the time. Detaining a bunch of scared kids from going home, giving them nothing to do, and surrounding them with cops decked out in riot gear… I’d be scared and mad, too, and I’m a five nothing white girl from the suburbs. :/

All that said, I really feel for the people of Baltimore. Good people, who shouldn’t have been made to suffer, are going to have been hurt physically and financially from this. Sometimes I read the news and I feel a bit scared to be coming back home soon, because it feels like my country is a pot of boiling hot water, and you just wonder where the next bit of violence is going to break out at as the economic and political turmoil continues. I have a friend whose company tried to bribe her and fellow workers to go to Baltimore to do repair work to a damaged store, already, and it seems like the uprest is *still happening.* For those of you in the area, please do whatever you can to keep you and your loved ones safe. I’ll be praying for your well-being from Japan.

Ahhh I’m so jealous. My mother has been out of town the last week on a trip, so I’m waiting to find out if my statue’s been delivered/what it looks like still. The suspense is killing me!! I really love copper’s and etruscan’s kirins in particular. I don’t know what I’m hoping for in particular at this point because there were so many good ones, just hopefully one I do love, so I don’t have to try to figure out trading in two/three months.
