I am so sorry to hear this. Both of my brothers are now gone so I can relate a little to how you feel. Holidays are so hard without the familiar faces we are used to seeing each year. I find myself embracing those around me now–to appreciate them and the wonderful company they provide. Sending you comforting thoughts at this time.
Thank you everyone! I miss not being here as much too! Thank you all for your good wishes! 🙂
November 19, 2015 at 4:02 pm in reply to: The First Annual Windstone Forum Fall/Winter Chocolate Swap! (CHECKING IN!!) #937260Shipped mine Monday–wanted to avoid the Holiday crazy since it was going over the border and figured it would take about a week for it to get there. Guess what–it cleared customs yesterday so my swapee may be getting her goodies soon. Hope it isn’t too soon–but it is ever too soon for chocolate?
I hear you on the car shopping! I’ve been working with a car broker who has several ties with dealerships that I get my cars through. Dread walking in a dealership and having the salespeople descend on me like vultures on a fresh carcass. I’m currently leasing–find it’s the best option for me since I don’t drive much anymore since I’m retired. Just need something to get me from point A to point B and I don’t deal with snow where I live. The older I get, the more simple I want my life to be and car shopping isn’t simple!

(CHECKING IN!!) #936569I don’t think I’ll be spoiling any surprises here since there are several people from Canada who signed up. What I need is some advice on shipping to Canada–what is the best way–Priorty Mail, Post, UPS? I don’t ship to other countries so have no idea. Any advice will be helpful. Thanks!

I am so sorry to hear about your layoff. I thought the economy was getting better and that the medical field was booming–guess not. I’m sorry that you feel so afraid right now and I hear you. No money coming in and yet the bills keep coming. I hope something works out for you soon. I am so frustrated to see greed all around me–this is what makes companies lay people off–they’re trying to maximize their profits by stepping on people. I just read in my paper that new owners took over a townhome complex and the residents are scared because they fear their rents are going to go up. They are paying $2600 now for a 2 bedroom and that rent could reach as much as $6000 a month! Insane. I don’t know where it will end and how many people will be tossed to the curb but something has to give soon. Ordinary people just can’t live anymore–good, hard working people and we not worth anything. I’m thinking of you and hoping better things to come.

Couldn’t help myself. I love Hoppies more than anything. Snatched up my very last batch right before they sold out. Couldn’t be happier; these gals are AMAZING!! Thanks so much Melody for making hoppy tadpoads. Can’t tell you how much I love these!
Those are gorgeous Tad Poads! How lucky that you got a variety of colors and markings. I have a little collection but nothing near as elaborate as what I see on here. Congrats on your new additions.
That totally sucks!! I know the feeling–I was laid off 5 years ago. I hate companies that make the situation where they try to make it where you can’t collect unemployment. I say go for it–you may have a good case. Commuting 50 miles away isn’t that convenient and most of your pay would go for transportation expenses. Good that you have someone to fall back on–that helps but I know that awful feeling in the pit of your stomach of how are you going to pay the bills. Makes me mad as how companies treat their employees–they had people who were willing to work and they get rid of them. That’s what gets me–there are people out there who are willing to work but cannot find work because companies have some phobia about them–too old–health not good–single parent and the list goes on. I don’t see how they expect people to live–or maybe that’s it–they don’t want them to.
I love your new place and am glad that things are happening for you. Very stressful to relocate, end relationships and such. A new beginning is always exciting and scary at the same time. You had to learn some new things along the way and that’s what makes it interesting. The best to you always!
Missed you and glad to see you back. Please, keep your hand–I don’t feel anyone is worth cutting their hand off for. If this is how your ex made you feel, be glad that you are out of that relationship. Time will take a while, but time will heal. Getting back to painting all the wonderful things that you do will help. You are truly talented and we all here appreciate that.
