They opened for the public again tonight after a several week cessation (they were doing carry out orders through a small window for several weeks, but that was limited contact). They’re trying to do as much social distancing and sanitation as possible but…if I’m going to be frank and a little uncouthe…I’m scared shitless for them. Neither of my parents are in great health and smoke like chimneys. I have extreme anxiety/depression and between this and some other issues going on my anxiety is through the absolute roof right now.

Its my program of choice to edit and draw with. I’m definitely more of a digital illustrator but its handy for a situation like this.
All I did to do it was import the windstone image, then use various layer styles like overlay, color, and multiply to lay on the colors with clipping masks enabled. They don’t work 100% and that’s why some of them look a little…unfinished (maybe is the right word). But for a mockup, they get the job done!

I’ll definitely check out dreamingtreestudios for the eyes, though if I have to get 10’s for the eyes (I found a seller through etsy that has an exact pair I want) I dont think a 1mm difference would be too noticable especially if I paint up the difference and with that specific horror paintjob.
And Angelika, are you just unable to see the pictures themselves? I’ll grab some links for you!

And Blight, with the horror eyesTropical is actually based off a character from one of my roleplay forums I was on a while back, I’ve always loved that design and I think it could lend well to a PYO. My digital lines are sloppy because it’s just a mockup but they would be neat and tidy on the actual one itself. If I were to pick any one of them to start with it would probably be blight.I think that one would have the most forgiveness with the palette and color usage for the first time pyo creator. Followed by pearl, and then tropi. If any of them turn out worth their salt, I may consider taking comms of them.

I’m originally from the frozen tundra known to the common folk as Wisconsin and consider myself from ‘there’, but I relocated to Tennessee (A suburb of Nashville, it’s a bit of a culture shock from my small town of about 600 people) for work – I work now at a small software design / Game Development studio (nothing big, we mostly just make client mobile apps), but it’s an art industry job and I get to draw all day every day so no complaints here!
Man I have so many favorites, I have to say the really big sculptures have to be my favorites because they’re pretty out of my grasp right now with my budget, if that makes sense? The emperors and female hearth dragons are really beautiful – but honestly it’s the colors that get me. A good paint can make any of the sculpts pop! That said, right now I’m really enjoying the small coiled and curled lines. I just got a small white coiled dragon second hand and she’s just darling – I’d like one of the mother coiled dragons with the eggs because the eggs are just adorable. But like I say, give it a unique paint job and I’m really sold. I’m usually watching ebay for the ebay dragons because of the unique paintjobs.
And as far as the ‘old green’ goes, I think you’re right on the money Etruscan. He’s definitely not from the emerald line – I’m picking up a repaired old Warrior here soon and he does NOT match that scheme at all. Plus he has orange eyes and not the red of the emerald line. But I really like his age, I wish I could get his story – maybe even just his manufacture date, just to know how old he is.

I don’t think I’ll ever part with mine as he’s very sentimental to me (my first ‘big’ windstone, and a gift from my mother), but I’ve always been curious. Thank you!

The contusion paint male dragon from Brandi Wise. Based on the url I think he was painted somewhere around 2017 and I know nothing about his history – I’m a new forum member, long time Windstone fan but new to the community (I really hadn’t realized that there was a community around the windstones, I just knew they were awesome dragons I would always stumble across and ended up googling them a few montsh ago and lurked for a while.)
I’m new into collecting and not yet really into the budget for the big name collection stuff / not out of the mass production or second hand stuff. But man…If I could get that boy, I’m pretty sure I could die happy. Those deep colors with those select accents are some of my favorite combos. Like my sig says, if anyone knows where he is and if he doesn’t have a permanent home…Hit this beastie up!

Drag0n did an absolutely awesome job shipping my coiled dragon and I am beyond pleased. Definitely jump on a dragon from them if you’re considering it – I’m really new to the forum because I’m getting back into the collecting hobby again, and for anyone who’s in a similar position like me (which I know most of you are long time members) I couldn’t recommend Drag0n more!
