I got mine today as well, a lovely turquoise, ocean blue, and light golden/cream fellow named Golden Sands painted by MandBsMom! She tells me that the medium blue on his scales (on his sides and neck) are completely done with Pearl-ex pigment. That takes dedication! I’ve tried working with pearl-ex before and I’m terrible at it! XD
The white and cream colors also have pearl ex in gold brushed on them, and it looks beautiful! The silver/pearl dots are meant to represent “white caps” you see on the beach – the photo that I sent for inspiration was that of a beach, and I think she did a fantastic job of capturing the colors and the feel. I am calling this one “Seaside”, as she was inspired by the beach. Her wings are painted like frothy waves on a seashore.
I’ve been working long days lately, but I was excited to have her finished (I was waiting for some Metallic Tan eyes to arrive) so I took some indoor pictures of her which I feel don’t properly display the richness of her colors. When I have time this weekend, I’ll get some nicer outdoor pictures of her.
She dons a crystal in her tail in “Paradise Shine” by Swarovski, and has details in gold. Gold interference is brushed on her horns, belly, and parts of her blue body. Her wings are brushed with interference pearl.
She will be for sale, and up in the classifieds shortly.
