-J R R TolkienIt’s going to be beautiful!! I can’t wait to see it when it’s done!
Somebody needs to bust out with a bright yellow griff, tho – one that will stay all yellow, I mean! Not enough sunny yellow griffs! ^_^"He that breaks a thing to find out what it is has left the path of wisdom."

That’s a good idea – I’ve had a few ideas that other people have already done too, and I always worry that if I actually do mine, it will be influenced by what I saw of theirs! I’d love to see yours when it’s done – I hope you post pics!!

-J R R TolkienI’m all over this one. π
I can’t believe I LOST my first one…gawd…there should be a place reserved in Windstone hell for me for that….probably got thrown out in an “empty” box while I was unpacking…I cringe when I think of it….

-J R R TolkienThis is very interesting, Nirvana – I’ve always heard that declawing cats was really horrible, and I’ve met a few cats who’s declawed paws obviously caused them pain. I didn’t know about the difference in younger cats vs. older cats.
My cat is very rambunctious, but luckily he’s never been interested in clawing things he isn’t supposed to. He just uses his scratching post. ^_^ Though I did trim his nails once in a while for my own sake – he plays rough!!"He that breaks a thing to find out what it is has left the path of wisdom."
-J R R TolkienHi Melody!
First off, my sympathies are still with you about the robbery – we’re all making voodoo dolls of those theives and scouring ebay for your poor lost babies!Second, my topic – I just wanted to ask you about variations in some of your colors – while all the colors seem to have slightly different versions of themselves, I’ve noticed that it’s HUGELY variable in the peacock dragons. Not only are certain of the colors different in intensity from one piece to the next, sometimes certain peacock hues don’t even show up on particular pieces! I just recieved a peacock fledgling with no purple on his tummy, and I’ve seen a few others that don’t have any green.
Now on one hand, this makes collecting rather exciting – the dragons are like individuals of a species, each one a little different though the same. It’s always fun when you snatch yourself a particularly pretty one.
On the other hand, it can be darned frustrating for a collector too! As someone who doesn’t have any stores near them that keep more than a few dragons in stock, it’s extremely difficult to see a piece in person before I buy it sometimes. There has been more than one occasion where I really wish there were no variations and I could be sure what I was paying $100+ for!! I really don’t want to open up a peacock old warrior that I’ve saved a long time for only to find that he’s one of the dusty washed out ugly ones.
I guess my real question is – how intentional is all this variation?? I know that different batches get painted by different people, but I also know you have color models that they are supposed to be working from – it seems like, unless they were doing it on purpose, your painters could be a little more consistant."He that breaks a thing to find out what it is has left the path of wisdom."

Try clearing all your personal data from your browser and click again? Depending on the browser you use, it will store internet data in temporary areas of your computer. Mostly this includes images, so that it doesn’t have to load them each time. If the last time you accessed that part of Melody’s gallery was before she uploaded new pieces, the URL may be the same, but for a different gallery page, but your computer thinks it’s still the old one. Kinda confusing, but computers always are!
If all else fails, the image is located directly here:

-J R R Tolkienπ Wow, a thread made of praise for me!! XD That’s an ego booster and a half!! THANKS NIRVANA!! π And I’m glad you like him. I sold him on ebay. Chery just commisioned one like it with more purple. I thought he was ugly – I never expected everyone to like him so much!! XP He looked a whole lot better in person, too – I could NOT find the right lighting to photograph him in, with all the interference paint.

We have scads of peacocks, they just eat food. XD
The nighbors next dorr parked their truck in front of the house and I have been sleeping over their. During the day it’s been fine, and tonight Thornwolf will be over to keep company until we both leave on Thursday to San Diego. The house will be empty and ungaurded, but no one will get hurt. :3
All this talk of yappy dogs….we do have an emu you know. She’s in love with me and I know she’d give her life for me. π
Hey, you’re truckin’ out to SD?? π You’ll be in my neighborhood! π

-J R R TolkienI don’t know if I can really take a solid position on this…I’m full of mixed feelings…I agree that political correctness is very often over the top and pretty silly. But at the same time, as part of a minority myself and as someone who has run into being made fun of or stereotyped, etc. on socially accepted media, I do understand that feeling too…it’s like being made fun of on the playground and having the recess ladies turn their heads. It just gives you a very basic sense of hurt and injustice.
There are an awful lot of people who get offended for the sake of being offended though…and that sort of ruins things for the rest of us too…"He that breaks a thing to find out what it is has left the path of wisdom."

The song about “what makes the red man red” has got to be at LEAST as offensive to Native Americans as SOTS is to African Americans. I’ve got Peter Pan on VHS and I certainly shake my head when ever I see that part.
Then there’s the black crows in Dumbo… π
Dude, you might make light of it, but Disney has done some mighty offensive things! The problem is, back when they were done, they were socially acceptable by the majority. They’re looked at in a slightly different light now…
Though I have to say, I am for releasing everything. And I alwasy did think the black crows in Dumbo were pretty hip! ;P
I just watched Dumbo recently when it came out of DVD after not having watched it in years – that movie is SAAAD!!!!! ;_; I can’t believe I didn’t break down crying watching that as a kid."He that breaks a thing to find out what it is has left the path of wisdom."
