Ooooh, maybe if I can get some other stuff done before sign up ends I can join in on this one! If not, it’ll still be super fun seeing what everyone paints.

Oh goodness, these mini keepers are absolutely killing me. Especially the darker and more natural coloured ones.

Thanks! I do really like dark red. blood bay on live horses. I feel like an idiot about the ear though.
Since I had my camera out to take a photo of my new GB colt, I thought I would take a picture of my much-expanded collection!
The last time I posted my collection consisted of a young white unicorn, and baby white unicorn, a rainbow young dragon and a baby kirin, all of which were gifts I had gotten throughout my childhood.
Now, well…
Not only do I have my original four, I also have my four GB unicorns, and two wolf griffins (a female in the original colouring and a newer male) and a ruby scratching dragon. Those last three I was lucky enough to come across at half price as the store was moving/stopping carrying figurines. Woo! Plus two PYO’s (Not pictured) I still have to get around to painting. How can I have been so busy this last year yet feel I have gotten nothing done? Gah!
Here is my little colt! He actually arrived last week, but I’ve been busy and procrastinated on taking pictures. I actually found the delivery notice down the path by my house, apparently the wind had blown it off my door. Lucky I found it!
He’s a lovely rich, metallic red bay, with a blaze and four white socks. I was hoping for something a little more busy and/or unusual colour wise, but he is still lovely. And I really do like the red crystals!
I was hoping to put him up for trade, but right after taking pictures I accidentally jostled my desk and he toppled over (AHHHHHH! Curse my bust!) and now has a tiny chip off the paint on his left ear. It’s something I can easily fix once I find the right adhesive, but I guess I will be keeping him now. Gotta think of a name!
I am loving all these colts! I tried making a short list of my favourites from the facebook photos, but I kept choosing the majority of them.
These two are my favourite so far;
I especially love the lacing. We’re seeing some really neat, rare horse colouring in this batch.
I can hardly wait until mine shows up! It’ll be another week or two until it gets here though. Gosh, waiting sure is hard. Good thing we have this thread to tide us over!
Mine finally came earlier this week while I was in Disneyland! As I side note, I highly suggest a trip to one of the Disney parks to speed up the waiting process. The time flew by!

Oh man, oh man! All of them are looking amazing so far! What an amazing job Melody has done on every single one. I’m so very excited and impatient to see which one I’m getting. Mine probably won’t arrive until next week, and I’m not going to be back home until Wednesday. Hopefully the suspense won’t kill me!
I just nabbed one in the store, but I too am quite apprehensive about the price. I’m almost starting to wonder if I should cancel the order and instead save the money for an ebay piece. I would probably feel better if I knew there were more people in Canada willing to trade a safari in case I get a candycorn, so shipping would be less of an issue.
Oh gosh, I am loving the natural animal coloured ones. Though a few of the leaf and other patterns caught my eye as well. I was saving up for possibly trying for an ebay griffin/kirin/dragon that steals my heart… but now maybe I am saving up for one of these!
I love the pattern on this one! If there was another one like this with the colour vibrancy turned down just one notch, I think I’d be in love:
