My keyboard is broken. I keep pressing "Escape", but I'm still here.
I broke my ankle a couple of years ago. They looked at me limping on it and not seeming like I was in allot of pain coming into the ER the nurse was grinning at me like I was a silly ole idiot and told me since I was limping that it probably just sprained. Okay I said, but since you don’t really know me you are going to do the ex-rays anyway right? I mean its a Sunday and I did not come in here frivolously just to get your attention. Else I would be at my doctors office who knows me very well. Ex rays done as she had to walk over and tell me that my ankle was indeed broken. Hum, you don’t say I said funny how that is huh. Well sorry she said its you just well I mean you were walking limping on it and did not seem to be in allot of pain. I looked at her and said I worked on a broken foot for 2 weeks because my boss told me it wasn’t broke because I could walk on it. After it wasn’t getting better I had a ex ray, the bone was splintered like a chicken bone. This stuff does happen and its seems to happen easier as you age and loose your bone density. I was to see a specialist because of the way the tendons ripped away from the bone with that ankle. 3 weeks later I canceled the appointment. It healed itself while I waited that 3 weeks it took to get into his office. I am a fast healer and kept it wrapped with ace bandages. That was the third time I’d broke a bone. Now I fell 3 days before Christmas. I took a header off the arm of the couch while dusting the top of a cabinet with my beloved Windstones in it. I have been fighting the pain in my hip and back for 2 weeks now. Time for those ex-rays at the doctors on Saturday. Wish me luck. This old bird never gives up. You will get better soon I hope– fatalbeauty. Wishing you a very speedy recovery.

windstonefan: I couldn’t walk on mine at all, I’ve twisted an ankle severely before but I could put weight on it before…this was no dice so I knew I had reallllly messed up but I didn’t think I had broken it but x-rays showed broken! I think what helped with the hospital staff though was I had my hubby flag down a wheelchair, I think it made them go, “oh she might’ve broken it”….without the wheelchair, it would’ve been a painful hop while my dad and hubby helped hold me up since I couldn’t put any weight on it…..and hopefully your hip and back are okay! we’re both not starting this year well…

Never say to me you are not going to heal without a operation. That is what the specialist I saw said to me when I splintered that bone in my foot. I started to cry really I did. I actually had the gall to tell him not to tell me that– because your telling me to give up and I never give up. He said sorry but only 1 in a million people heal from a split on the bone like you have. I said they are not me. I am different I don’t know why but I am a fast healer. He gave me 2 weeks to heal –said I already had 2 weeks. So with my half cast –off I went. 2 weeks later he ex-rayed my foot again. He came in and looked at me he said –I was wrong I am not wrong very often but you showed me something today. I don’t know how you did it but you healed good enough to get that cast off. How do you think you did it? Determination I said, never say never it makes people give up. An he said he was going to take more of a lets see what happens approach. So to you sweetie I say never say never sped that recovery up! Amen. Best wishes in the New Year for us both. We are off to a heck of a start. I look at it like this instead of ending a year bad we got the bad out of the way first and now we came only get better! Yes.

DRAGONS: Male CoyoteAwe thanks Natasha, its been over 5 years for that ankle now and like 10 for the foot. Hum the back been 25 years since I blew out the number 5 disk at work and they never found that out for 18 years. I was in terrible pain off an on. It got so bad my leg would just stop working out of the blue while I was pulling a heavy load out to the floor to stock. I would just be on the floor out of no where. Land on my right hip because that was the leg that stopped working. It was the nerve pressing down from the weight I was pulling. All the tests I had over the years never –no one ever bothered counting the disks. Because I found a great doctor who knew how to count. All could say was unbelievable–how they missed it every time. I was walking with a cane at the time. One doctor said herniated disk one said ruptured disk. Hum wanted to operate on me 2 times but could not promise I would ever walk again. I turned him down 2 times. I walked in there yes with a cane but I walked. Each time I fought to get better and did. I went back to work stocking. I wasn’t making it when I saw this last doctor because I was fighting a illness that took me down to 90 pounds(micro colitis) Still determined to get better. I looked at this doctors and he had me do a few simple things that yes I could do still. Touch my toes, stand on 1 leg then the other, my reflexes were all there. He said you can do everything you should not be able to do and I cannot figure out why. Can I look at your back? Sure your the doctor. He said oh my what do you do for a living? Grocery stock-er I said. He said and that is the very reason you can still walk without that disk its floating around in your body somewhere you know. If you did not have all those muscles in your back your spine would have slid from the left to the right or the right to the left but because you built up so much muscle your muscles kept your spine in place. I was not a candidate for surgery because I adapted to the missing disk but my nerves on the right side of my spine knew the disk was missing. So he said we are going to fool them into thinking they are wrong. It was so simple he went in with a probe and did something to that nerve to stop all the pain and make the leg work without me falling down again. I think that if I had ever known the disk was gone and there was no hope I would be in a wheel chair maybe possibly. But I am a very stubborn lady. I never believed the first doctor or the second one. Good thing to because there were both wrong. So when I fell again I most likely damaged my back again. The pain goes from side to side and leg to leg. Its the nerve again and at 67 almost 68 (1/13/51 I just got to hope this old gal has another stubborn streak left in her. Well see. I am trying to find the doctor that did the last nerve block on my back with the probe. I see my regular doctor tomorrow. Wish me luck you all. An no windstones were damaged in my fall. Its sometimes awful the way I hate dust! But my beloved Windstones stay pretty. HA.

oog, reading all that has me wincing! anyhoo, I’m usually a somewhat fast healer, I was quicker when I was younger(37 now almost 38 in February) but I’m resting, it feels fine while I’m not doing anything, it mostly hurts when I have to hop around on crutches to get somewhere and I tense it up a little bit….the main thing I worry about is falling over, my balance randomly goes sometimes….but I’m hoping all goes well, I’m staying positive…..and hope you get better soon too, windstonefan!

I am wishing/praying for a speedy recovery for us both. So to us, may the healing gods look kindly upon us along with our determination to heal quickly. An do be careful with your balance. Get up but do it with caution. Heck use those crutches. Soon you will be whizzing around the house like a pro. Good luck to you.

yes healing gods be nice to both of us please! I’m already getting stir crazy since I can’t put weight on it so I’m kinda house bound since I live in an upstairs apartment…I’ll probably be able to get around better once I get my cast on Tuesday, as far as the crutches go, it’s my first time having to use them so I suck at it…but I’m resting a lot, doing as little as possible for now so hopefully that and staying positive will equal mega heals!
