Wheee, thank you Melody! 😀 I have such a waiting list of my PYOs to paint that it’s intimidating at this point, hah. These seemed like something I could tackle, and the results are so bright and cheerful. Can’t help but smile whenever I look at them!
Rylorien, thanks for the compliments on the stripes. I was huddled over those with a teeny brush, hoping I didn’t sneeze! Marmalade did have very subtle stripes on her. She had a mottled appearance to her belly which I had to leave out, or else I think I’d still be painting 🙂 Loki had to get edited down too – she has ticked fur which would probably have been impossible to get across right on such a smooth figure. I’ll be attempting a more realistic portrayal with the PYO winged cat, someday.

What a shame! Thanks for the warning, I’ve never used the Super White kind myself and now will avoid it! That said, perhaps yours doesn’t have to go to waste. Contact the manufacturer and let them know your complaints about the Super White being so different from the regular kind. They may have had a bad batch, offer to replace yours with the regular variety, or have tips on how to make it behave better.

Like Jennifer, I wouldn’t classify myself as a furry (no problem with ’em, though!), nor am I a hardcore cosplayer. I just like making animal/fantasy costumes – I enjoy the challenge of hiding a person in non-human anatomy. My only full-body suit is my Asian dragon, Fulcrum. It won best in show at Nan Desu Kan 2007 😀
It’s the one on the left, haha! I have all of the materials together to give this suit a much-needed upgrade.I am also working (if you could call gathering materials and dreaming “working”) on a tengu, a tauntaun, a gila monster, Guilmon from the Digimon series, and a baby Brontotherium quad suit. Sounds ambitious but it’s little more than a pile of fur and foam at this point! Costuming is really a lot of fun but time consuming. I’m settling for now in making animal costume pieces for sale on Etsy 🙂

My husband’s uni arrived today! He was so excited to open the box, but not so much to see what was inside, heh! He’s not a fan of purple, to say the least, and decided to swap his uni for the one I’d originally received. So, here’s Cheveyo!
Cheveyo means “spirit warrior” in Hopi, although a little research turns up a site that claims it is the name of a monstrous ogre in Hopi mythology, heh! Silver hooves, silver horn, crystal clear gems, and beautiful metallic lavender eyes. Her feathers, mane, and blaze are pearly white, silver, pink, and purple.She’s lovely, but not on my favorites list, so she’ll be up for trade!

My uni is here! This is Flourish, with a very fitting name!
He’s got green-blue-purple color shift spots that match his aqua jewels, and metallic light orange eyes that match his mane. There’s an overspray of interference gold so he looks like his tendrils fade to pearly white at certain angles, but stay gold all the way through at others.
After watching the livestreams I found I liked almost half of the unis out of this batch 🙂 Sadly, this lovely fella isn’t one of them, so he’ll be up for trade.

Aww, I missed these. They’re lovely! Wish I could have snagged one – would have been my first gothic uni. Thanks for labeling them Chanticleer, I particularly like C, J, O (think that’s my fave!), R, U, and Y. Hoping to see some pictures once they all start arriving at their destinations!

…Meh! Hate to rain on a parade but I have to be honest 🙂 These look like something from one of the Alien movies to me. Or, a less-cute version of the in-egg T. rex and Velociraptor toys they made for The Lost World. Nice paint jobs though, but I’m happier seeing my baby ‘raptors covered in fluffy down and looking like baby chicks from Hell 😀
