Today our Postman told us that yesterday there was a bad accident involving a mail carrier (not ours) – hence the lack of pick up. He said that its likely today’s outgoing packages may not leave Corvallis until tomorrow. Again, apologies for the delays!

I think this is outdated information (its from 2017) and if I’m not mistaken we have updated our Paint Your Own product pages since then so that the wait list works the same way as it does for everything else.

The PYO Dragon is coming up quick – if nothing goes wrong we should be stocking them by the end of this week (Susie’s observance as of 8/29/2022). There will be some other PYO’s restocked as well.

I’m sorry I didn’t see this question until now, however I do have an answer to the original question about how long it might be until we restock the Small Winged Spirit Wolf – We don’t know! For the past couple of years we have put all of the stone colored items (gargoyles and candlelamps) on the back burner due to the fact that we have a very small crew and simply cannot make everything all at once. The stone color on these pieces is achieved in a different way from our other more colorful pieces (and different from the “Stone” colored dragon too) and it has been more efficient for us not to make them while we are short handed. It may be hard to believe, but that stone color is hard to paint! We have not retired them, however we don’t have a time frame for when we might make them again. I do not think it will be this year (2022). I extend our apologies to those who are waiting for them.

The bottom of a questionable piece tells a lot about it and the Weight of the item can tell you a lot – Windstone is heavy – fakes are often much lighter.

Thank you for showing your love to the Scaleys! We are all out of them now. If you’d like a hairless breed of Fuzzy, try signing Love Leatherette!

There will be more Desert Opal Large Bird Winged Flap Cats – just give us some time to make them! (it could be a month or two down the road – I am not sure how long). Please press the “join waitlist” button on their page to be automatically emailed when we have more. We are exploring ways to handle heavy traffic on our site so that it does not crash and our experiment with a “virtual queue” went pretty well. .

                            Hi Cheryl,

This is Susie’s perspective (I know you want Melody’s but I’m the person who handles all the office stuff and processes orders so I thought I’d put my two cents in).

All of the cons other people have listed are definite cons. It would make order processing and bookkeeping very difficult and time consuming. There are so many reasons why someone putting a down payment on a pre-order might want to change or cancel it and there are so many reasons why we might think we can make something and then discover that we cannot make it much later, after pre-orders have been taken. I’m sorry, but in my opinion its much better if we stick to selling what physically exists and is packed up ready to ship.

Hi John, I think that many packages shipped from this date (December 14th) forward will arrive on time, however some won’t – It depends entirely upon how far away from us you are and if travel is delayed by tornado destruction or other weather (or covid) related events! From Oregon across the U.S. is normally about one week travel time for UPS ground – but right now it could very well take longer. The US Post Office often gets places faster.

We will be shipping packages as quickly as we can until December 23rd if nothing stops us but I cannot promise they will all arrive before the 25th. At this moment we have about 60 orders for Paint Your Owns to fill – and those take extra time to process due to finding eyes for them – I doubt they will all ship tomorrow. If something arrives after December 25th – Celebrate New Years with it!

We just restocked the small PYO Dragon, the PYO Griffin, and the PYO Kitty Griffin. There are no limits on any of them.

I’m not sure if the eye color chart is showing up on all Paint Your Own product pages – I apologize if it is not. Some eye colors we may be running out of and we may need to substitute something close. If you finish painting your piece and the eye color you chose no longer works – we can exchange them. Some shades of color have altered because our base paints have altered. If you don’t see a color in the drop down field that is just right, choose one that is close to what you want and add a Customer Note describing what you’d prefer (or email susie@windstoneeditions.com about it). We’ll do our best to get you set up with eyes that meet your needs. Please always EMAIL me about eye exchanges (don’t try to PM or message on FB – I probably won’t see it) including your name and address. Thank you!
