Wow those went fast! I wouldn’t have had a chance even if I tried. I’m in the need to save money position, unfortunately. Hopefully it’ll be awhile before another dragon grab bag…just so I can jump on it with enthusiasm!

Cannot wait to see the pictures!

I’m a fan of drag0nfeathers’ ideas. Those “find the differences” games are addicting! It would be a lot of fun, but definitely time consuming to set up.

            Looking forward to what’s coming.

I’m biased toward dragons, but I’d be OCD too about completing a family first. I am loving the blue morpho coloring on the dragons.

I’m hoping as casting problems decrease, the copper patina becomes a more common production color (for the dragons, at least). I really like that coloring on them! Though I’m looking to collect another color too, just haven’t figured out what color.

I was also wondering about the certain dragons that aren’t really being produced. I did not realize they had horns. I will start following that horn shortage page now too!

I didn’t grab any, but am truly enjoying the pictures of the ones y’all received. I love how the eye spots on the butt make it look like another face. They are very cute!

I agree with prezaurian. There are some beautiful and uniquely colored nudibranchs out there.

I tried to get post-Easter candy too, to no avail. :/

I’m currently in Southern California LA area, but grew up in the Bay Area. I desperately miss it! I love the bay. I grew up in a town in the East Bay closer to the Oakland area. The weather is great, especially if you like overcast, cool days. I like the rain and adore thunder storms, you get these in the bay. Summers are usually mild. I don’t know how to describe it, but the general population and the atmosphere of the bay is wonderful. The public transportation system (BART, buses) is organized fairly well too. LA is just as everyone describes it: noticeably crowded, traffic 24/7, smoggy, hot, etc. Practically no rain. So if you like eternal sunshine, then it’s a good area to choose. There are the off chances that you’ll see celebrities around, but it doesn’t really offset the “rushed, all about me” feel of the area.

I’d consider Oregon, Washington, Idaho panhandle areas. That part of the country is gorgeous.

                                That’s just my 2 cents.

I am glad you started this thread. I had a similar curiosity looking at what others had collected. It’ll definitely take time to collect the ones you like; especially as they take time to become available.

My answer to your question: I graduated a couple of years ago with a BS in animal health science and am now employed as a Registered Veterinary Technologist in Southern California. I love my job, which I think is the most important thing to consider when searching for a career. My dream job will be to work in a zoo someday, but it is hard to get into that field. I’m looking to volunteer at the very least; get my fix that way. You don’t make the best money in the veterinary field, but having few bills to worry about helps.

In the end, I think you should enjoy what you do. You’ll be doing it everyday for the majority of your life, after all.

I admire what you do for a living because it’s one of the many things I wanted to do, but I don’t have thick skin for it. I’m a sucker for animals, so when I see hurt, sick, neglected, or run over animals I could just cry. Of course I’m sure not all animals you work with are sick or ill, but for me it would be tough to deal with the ones that were. I hope you can make it into a zoo one day. Maybe if you volunteer enough they’ll hire you.

Very true…do what you love. I have a family member going through a tough time at her job. While it pays well, she doesn’t like it and she’s miserable. That’s not a life worth living, being miserable most of you life in a bad job.

Thanks. There are definitely harder days than others, but it’s worth it. It definitely takes a certain type of person to do it. All the luck to you in finding your direction. College is the perfect time to try out different things and figure out what you want to do.
