On the fly. What color would you like to see? I’m thinking we should try a blue-green theme one
Personally I would love to see a dusky purple/indigo color with silver (maybe gold?) and lavendar or light blue accents. If not that perhaps a darker shade of cerulean with pale green, light peach, and coppery accents.
I’d be against something vibrant blue-green a la emerald peacock…I want to see this beautiful sculpt have her own unique sets of colors (and so far they’ve been fantastic).
These probably won’t be perfectly accurate as each person’s monitor is calibrated differently but as long as the idea more or less gets across…some dusky purples, dark blues, and dark blue-green ceruleans.
Jeez. Some of those baby kirins are so pretty–and crazily detailed, too! I know that means expensive but I hope it’s just not ridiculously so…I’d hate to pay as much for one of them as I would a baby gb pegasus/unicorn.
That lavendar/blue/white in the 2nd row from the left nearest to the camera is right up my alley…I’m not too fond of a white body but maybe there will be darker ones as I see ones farther down the row with similarly painted blue heads.
All I can say is the longer they take to hit the store, the better! It means more time to scrounge up pennies in the couch.
January 25, 2017 at 1:58 pm in reply to: Now in Stock! New Female Hearth Dragon in Carnelian! #1519368More hearths will be painted in this color, yes? I could have sworn I read somewhere more would be painted in this color, but I can’t find where I read it. I’d love to have one these red beauties.
I believe it was in the store notification email, Dragoneer. It also said there would me additional colors coming in the future too, but I would expect them to be similarly small batches.
I still am waiting on mine to show up.
I do have pictures I took of the piece I painted for Ms. Wier that I could post but they’re not good at all. I didn’t think the sun was as bright so the pics are washed out and they were blurry (stupid arm palsy).
But yeah… I’m wondering where all the pieces are too!
Quick question, was Carnelion or whatever that Hearth Dragon was painted in a test color at any point?
No, it hasn’t been one of the test paint colors on ebay pieces. I don’t think that “Blue Morpho” was either before it appeared as an LP color.
I think blue morpho was a test paint color, but I wouldn’t swear to it.
I couldn’t say for the dragons but I know the male/female griffin at least were done in blue morpho. When I rediscovered Windstones and was spending lots of time going through test paints I was in love with the rich darker blue of the griffin test paints over the brighter and lighter blue of the LP.
Seems strange they wouldn’t use test paints to determine production based on feedback.
I would imagine that they do. They have plenty of forum squeaks for various test paint colors (autumn leaf, for example, is a popular squeak); aside from that I would expect they monitor which test paints go for more on Ebay. Just because it wasn’t specifically done on the hearth dragon means very little in the overall scheme of things.
Melody has shown us painted hearth dragons via her blog/deviantart pages. None of that sculpt has been on eBay to my knowledge. If it was test painted in carnelian at any point in time, it would still be at the factory/in Melody’s collection.
Oh wow. She’s amazing! That seafoam green eye color is my favorite (it was on most of the oil spot pieces too) and those colorshift scale accents give it some pizzazz. Congratulations on a gorgeous prize!
The griffin is Violet Hawk #1 (he’s on pinterest somewhere). I too love him as he’s a beauty and the earthy old warrior next to him is just as stunning.
Jeez, Natasha. That is a crazy amount of fine-point details! The gradations of color are quite pretty, especially on the backside of the wings, and I love the way he looks when you see him face-on (the different breaks in color are striking–particularly the dark gold on the snout and in the nostrils). You did a fantastic job on that keeper. 🙂
Are those eyes the metallic tan? Or some other color? It’s difficult for me to tell.
I was able to get mine out in the mail yesterday but it’s going to take about a week to get there. I might be waiting anxiously in the meantime–pins and needles whilst I await a reaction!
I’m all for baby poads, especially a safari batch! I’d also be interested in fantasy/colorshit sitting baby kirin to match previous batches as well as the coiled mother dragons. We don’t seem to see many dragon gbs comparatively–understandable, too, as Melody has said before that scalies are more time-consuming to paint–but I’d be happy to see some painted mama coilies, if not more minikeepers or curlies at a later date when enough casts are available.
I received my swap gift in the mail and I’m so ecstatic! Thank you Brianne! You did a wonderful job. My gift included 2 new books, a maneki neko sticker, a can of pringles (yum!), dark chocolate Lindor truffles (yummier!), a candle, a wonderful wood-scented spray/mist, a Legend of Zelda triforce pin, a blue glazed incense disk, a box of Japanese incense, and two gorgeous obi. I took a ton of pictures trying to get the colors right but the light in my room just wasn’t cooperating, so unfortunately the picture just doesn’t do the obi justice. One is a vivid fushia-violet shade with a golden disc pattern and the other is this dark, musky purple-indigo hue with silver and gold circles/florettes. So so pretty! Squeeee! Thank you so very much! (The Japanese heart within this whitebread Americana girl could not be happier–aside from actually going to Japan hehe.)
