Wow, I really love that color scheme on the Ebay cart that looks like Barn Swallow! (Is it really Barn Swallow? I thought it looked greener than I remember the Swallow pieces being, but it’s been a while so I could be wrong!)
I really love the Lavender Rose color (and am sad that I didn’t win the Lap!)… but was secretly hoping it’d be a “your choice of these eye colors” type deal. Maybe next time, if there’s enough demand for Lavender Rose to paint more? 😀

How cool! I have always wanted to go to DragonCon, but it’s a bit far away for me. (MidsouthCon, and myself, are in Memphis, TN.) We have a local anime con, too (ABC: Anime Blues Con) and I go to it most years, though not last year.
I will definitely have a great time, thank you! 🙂 I’m hoping to cosplay this year, but I don’t know if I’ll have time to pull something together… My friend will be cosplaying, though, so if I can’t manage for myself I’ll just live vicariously through her. 🙂

Very cool and I am guessing we are somewhat neighbors, I live in GA. My girls and I go to Dragoncon every year and my oldest is a director for Momocon. She is very excited because it was just announced yesterday that Dragoncon and Momocon have entered a “strategic partnership”.

I *just* tried logging in from the store page, and it kept rejecting my password, so the password reset thing is still an issue. (I thought I was logging in to the Forum/whole site in general, but given that going *to* the Forum and then logging in worked just fine, I must’ve been clicking on a Store-only login link.)
The store looks pretty good from what I did see, though I really disliked having only twelve images per page — it ups the number of pages for certain categories into the truly unwieldy! Especially since the categories aren’t separated from the individual items.
Other than those things, though, and the visual weirdness of the Store category pics not being the same size (resulting in my missing categories when scrolling, because smaller ones scrolled off the page before the rest of their row) it looks really good!

It’s good to hear from another Forum “oldie,” though I’m sorry to hear that your life lately has been such a mixed bag. Congrats on the retirement, and the new business venture! And best of luck with your treatment and the deployment situation. Drop in and update us on how things are going; we missed you!

I am shocked at how inexpensive the Windstones are selling for on eBay! I wish I could afford to buy some. Only $255 for that beautiful lap Dragon. And they’ve all been so nice!
I was thinking the same thing about the wood cedar male unicorn. But I think the comments posted nail it on the head – we have had a number of lovely little surprises show up in the store with the various color shifts and I am definitely one of those that Masked Phoenix referred to – eagerly waiting on the young uni GB and therefore trying to behave – key word trying.
Well, if I hadn’t been at work when the auction closed, that Lap definitely would have gone for more! 😛 Alas.
Although I *am* saving a bit for future Color Shift Pebble fox sculpts, too – knowing they’re coming, I want to be ready for them so I can grab a whole handful! 🙂

Wow, drag0nfeathers, you have some lovely pieces! I just adore the little Tan-Tabby griffin chicks, especially, and have since the day they came out; I wish there could be more of them!
I really like the colors on the Hatching Royals pair, too – what is that color scheme called? The Rising Spectral next to them is really unique, as well; it reminds me a little of a “Bloody Shoulder” Arabian horse! 🙂

I now use Aleene’s tacky glue. It’s a white craft glue though it’s comes in multiple variations.I often use the clear gel variation on Windstones as it dries totally clear and doesn’t leave a cloudiness if it gets on the visible part of the eye or gem. It can be purchased at Michael’s or pretty much anywhere that sells basic craft supplies like Walmart.
I started using Aleene’s tacky glue instead of regular white glue for things after I successfully fixed my Mom’s resin candle holder with it. We had tried just about everything on it(super glue, china weld, white glue, modeling glue, but the most effective was double sided carpet tape) and were lucky if the wing held for a couple months. It’s been a few years and the wing tip is still on there so I’ve decided I like it better than regular white glue.
Tacky Glue is awesome stuff! I’ve used it for gems and eyes, and also for a number of repair jobs on broken fragile things – it’s so nice because it retains some flexibility even when it’s dry, so things don’t snap apart again the minute some minor stress is put on the join.
The trick is to follow the directions and let the glue sit for ~20 seconds before pressing the pieces together.
Aleene’s also makes a handy glue called Jewel It, which is meant for fabric but I have used on other surfaces as well – it’s basically waterproof-when-dry Tacky Glue.

My “mess up” dragon is looking better! I’ll need to acquire some eyes for him (anyone know who makes good purple eyes?) and finish up his markings, but I’m finally satisfied with his overall pattern and colors. Even more exciting, the kitty griffin should be complete soon!

The sooty bays were an amazing natural option. Maybe a less detailed version? A nice rich solid blood bay with only black markings?
Ack! Don’t say that! I don’t collect hoofers, but blood bay equines are one of my biggest weaknesses…
