Lol. True, we love our dragons a lot! I’d probably be crying if anything happened to mine.
I had a kinda funny dream a year or so ago. Basically it was a ghost of a mass murderer was talking to me in my room. He boasted he killed this guy this way, drove this one into doing this and that led to their death, made this guy do that, made this one ill, just outright killed that one… implying he could do that to me and my loved ones next by using his energy to affect ours.
My response? “Okay… so you were able to do that. So if you could do that to hurt and destroy others, that means anyone has the potential for that ability. So I should be able to affect others that way too…” I looked at him and smiled, since I had no qualms about doing this to someone who used it for evil by his own admission. “Let me try this on you… If you can do it there must be a way I can too… Hey! Wait! Where you going? Come back!”
He fled.
Last year my fiance had a similar dream where someone like that spoke to him, saying all the bad stuff he could do to people he cared about. Then the murderer ghost apparently mentioned me, and my fiance said he glared at him and said, “You don’t touch her. Period.” And loomed over the ghost guy, ready to fight. Again, ghost guy fled.
Apparently we scare evil ghosts.
Nothing like it since for either of us.
I would totally go for a mouse wizard or cat wizard grab bag. Granted they’re likely a lot of work but they’d be so cute!
I wouldn’t trust UPS in IL. I had 100 cans of tuna (double boxed) sent from the cannery in Washington state and they not only dropped the box on every corner imaginable but CRUSHED the middle. A little over 50% of the cans were damaged beyond keeping and had to be returned. It was a pain in the butt and I think pissed off the cannery as much as it did me because they never had issues with UPS mailing their stuff before, not like that!
Just send me a PM with details and I’ll pick up your stuff and if you’re willing to reimburse on shipping I’ll pad your stuff to wazoo to your specs and mail it USPS to you. At least they’ll only drop it on one flat side and a corner, not toss it down a flight of stairs and crush the crap out of it.
Hm, Ottowa is a bit under 2 hours from me per Google maps. Probably less, knowing how I drive. If all else fails, let me know if you need me to pick it up. The shipping might be the tough part, depending on how big it is and how much padding it needs.
Is that a grouse in a bush? 😉
Yay! More Andre Norton fans! I’ve almost everything she wrote so it’s actually at a point I’m trying to research what’s left to find. I recently got Mark of the Cat Year of the Rat (been hunting it a while!) through Half Price Books. I used to have a list of what I was still hunting but I can’t even go to the lists I made of what I do have, the Covid shot has me down for the count. I currently can’t leave my bed without almost passing out or throwing up. So I’ll have to get back to you sometime, Pip.
It seems she’s not feeling well after the 2nd covid shot per her FB page, so my guess is there’ll be a little delay. I’m sure whoever wins will be stunned and thrilled tho! Lovely dragon.
I am a HUGE Andre Norton fan, I have been trying to get every book she ever wrote (hard and soft cover). Got her mystery and historical fiction hiding there too, lol. 2 more shelves of her stuff (Solar Queen and Witch World) are on a more fragile shelving unit (where Windstones fear to tread lest the shelves give out, so they’ve more enduring friends instead). Unfortunately her stuff is hard to come by these days. She wasn’t as well known an author as Isaac Asimov and Anne McCaffery and so they’re neither republishing her stuff nor scanning it to ebook like other authors, its just being lost to circulation by time. So I’m glad to see another fan of hers!
Ok, I rearranged the majority of my collection to my (current) satisfaction. Well, in one curio anyway. But this way you get to see all the bantams and bigger pieces spaced out so I think they show better this way. Especially with books in the background. The ruby curio will get books, I’m not there yet tho.
Wow! Reminds me of my ruby OW only he’s not a prototype OW. Absolutely beautiful!
One question and a big concern tho–is this the same red paint with the same danger in sunlight?
Happy birthday Melody! 🎂🍾🥳
Just thought this one might be fun and cheer people up a bit on a rough Monday.
I found him ripped up for $7, sewed half his face and tail back together using an old sock as stuffing (ran out of fluff), but he needed a serious scrub and had to accompany me to work so he could get a bath at a massive laundromat nearby.
Yes I drove around with him like this. 🤣
Congrats!
