*dusts this old thing off*
I finally finished another PYO figure!
This is Ice Storm. It was originally intended to be more of a wintery/snowy dragon, but I guess it decided ice was more its thing.
The spines along the back have gold paint over any imperfections I could find (stray dirt, paint brush marks, etc), and that’s all covered in a layer of blue interference paint. Its body is a matte metallic silver that has a very soft reflective look which the camera doesn’t like to focus on very well.
Parts of its body also glow in the dark – the claws, eyes, and a row of small dots along the spines on its back.
Here it is in all of its Glow In The Dark Glory
The camera didn’t pick up most of the small glowing dots but they were all there.
It looks much better irl in comparison to the photos.
Nudibranch looks fantastic on the male unicorn. Of the species/sculpts that have been shown I think it looks best on him. Interested in seeing the rest of the uni family in that color.
It’s been a while! I didn’t work on any new art projects for almost half a year, but autumn really gave me a second wind and enough motivation to pick up the paint brush and glue gun.
I made an autumn wreath for myself. I really enjoyed making it so I picked up a couple more wreaths…
The third one I made. This I gave to my grandmother over the weekend. The second one would not photograph, but it is basically a smaller, simpler version of the first one.
And a paper mache pumpkin I painted. Wanted it to look like a jawbreaker with melted candy corn on top.
I bought one of the stragglers and ended up with one that is very similar to the dragon I traded for.
I don’t have enough time for photos, but here is the class pic of it.
With the lightning right now I can’t tell if the top is a purple colorshift but the bottom looks like magenta-gold shift.
But yeah, this one is basically the same colors as mine, just flipped. Might as well be siblings.
Probably gonna wait a few days and decide on which one I want to keep, then trade the other. If this was a favorite feel free to get in touch, otherwise I’ll eventually get a trade ad up.
I got mine in today. It’s in the bottom photo, second-to-last row, and fourth from the left.
It’s nice but doesn’t really speak to me. I’ll have a trade ad up for it shortly if anyone feels this is the one for them.
I picked out a few from the class photo that stood out in particular. A lot have very similar schemes so I might be able to get one that’s close enough to a favorite.
These are in no order of favoritism.
Now that I look at them, I seem to really like the blue and purple ones.
If I end up with a green one and it happens to be someone’s favorite feel free to contact me – I’d be happy to look at trade offers for it.
Smoldering Ember is an A+ color on the hearth dragon. It’s really beautiful.
I have a personal airbrush at work and I use it to paint over a large area (almost always underbelly scales) so it’s nice and smooth. The rest is painted by hand.
The store has PYO muses if you want something to practice on since they have a bunch of different textures.
The Citrus coloration looks pretty fitting on the standing baby ki-rin. Almost like a green counterpart of the original production color.
Thank you you two.:)
The fourth mountain painting is my personal favorite too Zexious.
Welp. Got a green piece.
This one’s up for trade and I’ll have an ad up shortly. I will look at anything non-green that’s offered.
Mine is out for delivery today. Looking forward to opening it once I get home from work.
How again do you view the class picture more clearly? Some of you have some amazing close ups and I would love to obsess a bit more over them.
Right click the image, open it in a new window, then delete the “-dimensionshere” at the end of the image link, and you’ll have the full-sized photo. Should look like this: https://windstoneeditions.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/GB-Pebble-loaf-dragons-from-top-class-pic.jpg
Mika – An Oddball class photo is posted in the Ask Melody section where the Pebble Dragons were being discussed! Go here and scroll down: https://windstoneeditions.com/topic/so-whats-next-on-the-schedule-part-2/page/62/
Thank you!:) That black one is super pretty.
