I recently found some colorshift paints that I haven’t seen other people try on PYOs and bought a handful of them. The original plan was to make a sunset-y fade on the rock, but some of the colors came out much greener than expected. It seems like most of the colors could be used to make a really nice flourite-looking rock if I ever decided to paint something of the sort.

Thanks! I really enjoy making these pieces and hopefully i can find new painting tricks or add-ons to make them look even better.
Thank you! Some of the tail tips were a bit difficult to get a good fade with so the sprinkles were added to help hide the less smooth areas.
Another ice cream piece has been completed! When I asked what toppings she’d like, this kitsune said she wanted ALL of them, AND a cherry on top! Hopefully she doesn’t get a stomach ache from all that sugar!
Her name is, very appropriately, Sugar Rush Mint Choco-sune.
Painted with acrylics + a sprinkling of fake candy crumbles + a polymer clay cherry to complete the look, and coated with a satin varnish to protect everything.
As with all the ice cream-themed pieces I paint, I’m putting this up for auction both here in the classifieds and in the Official Fan Club on Facebook.
The classifieds version of the auction can be reached here:
https://windstoneeditions.com/members/mika/listings/view/1661361/sugar-rush-mint-choco-sune-auction/TBH if I’m going to pay let’s say $600 or something like that for a piece I’d want to get the exact one I want, not a random shot in the dark.
A lotto system would be a lot of work, but enabling someone to pick which one they’d like to buy if they get chosen seems like a better idea for a larger piece. Or use a random number generator to choose who gets the piece based on how many people sign up for the chance to buy it.August 2, 2022 at 7:36 pm in reply to: What’s your grail piece(s)? 2 (Also awesome news inside) #1661257There’s an old green emp up on eBay too.
That poor fella looks like he went through a dust storm.
Good luck to anybody that wants him.
In the event that anyone is looking to buy some more art supplies (because, ya know, you might need that obscure shade of green one day) Utrecht/Blick’s is having a sale right now. Their store-brand stuff is the most discounted.
This is the link to their paint section but there’s other stuff on sale like polymer clay and brushes.July 29, 2022 at 4:07 pm in reply to: What’s your grail piece(s)? 2 (Also awesome news inside) #1661128I’ve never seen that turtle one before! Wowza what a rare piece!
I’d love to see a red-colored critter in the store.
The sitting qi-lin looks like a puppy trying its best to sit so it can get a treat.
Here’s a photo of my current trio of WIPs!
A mint chocolate chip kitsune that decided she wanted every kind of color on her, a taped-up kitty cat (the body’s been painted white), and a kitsune with marbled sky blue and white paint on its body.
And a poor neglected little kitty griffin sulking in the background.:'( He’ll get his turn soon enough!
Sent mine in!
Thank you! And I’m the same about adding extra stuff to PYOs. It really needs to perfectly match or it just looks weird to me.
Thank you!^^
