I can’t join in, but really really love the standing Kirin! I’m going to make an ad about trading my GB standing fox or my GB tanuki for one!

OH, be still my heart! This would be a grail for me for sure! If the W-2 comes in today, and I get the tax return done, then I may know how much extra cash we’ll have!

My family and I have also ‘collected’ a family of kitties. Mamma gave birth last year to four (!) females. Those four now hang out in our backyard and come inside for petting and loving before I dish out the canned food. All except one, she doesn’t like being touched, but will still get close. I’m trying to figure out how to afford spaying for four females before we end up with a whole lot more!
Get with your local SPCA, your local animal shelter, any cat rescue or feral group. With a feral and/or rescue group typically you trap, drop the cat off at an agreed upon point VERY early in the morning and a few lovely volunteers will drive (generally in their own cars, they are wonderful people!) dozens of terrified, yowling cats to the spay and neuter clinic. You pick them up at night. Get them fixed as ferals, not pets, you are looking at 30 to 50 dollars a cat and you usually get a rabies shot too. It eats up one weekend, it is tiring, you worry about the cats, but then you are done and safe forever after and everyone is happier, healthier, and your neighbors won’t be after your blood for populating the neighborhood with kitties and creating an unnaturally large population by providing an unlimited food source.
Not to be all gloom and doom, but if you don’t do it now, the problem will multiply…literally.
I found a group that will do the surgery, rabies, ear tipping, and pain meds for $40 a cat. It’s about a 25 min drive, but that’s doable. I’ll probably have them done in pairs, so they each have a buddy to go with.

In case anyone was wondering though, the Ding Dongs are in their forever home.
That’s ok. If they were HoHos though………..
I love the color shift curlie. I need one of those. And the blue morphos were restocked. Oh, and an aquamarine would be nice too……..Love baby kirins, safari poads, mini keepers, and anything BLUE, BLUE, and, oh yes, BLUE.
Yes, the Windstone 12 step program is usually something like this:
1 – I’ll just get a few dragons
2 – they’ve restocked some of the griffins, I’d better get one before they sell out again
3 – Oh look, that flap cat is just like my kitty
4 – those baby unicorns are cute (and they don’t take much shelf space)
5 – I don’t understand why people like Poads, but I’ll get a tadpoad for my collection
6 – pebbles are little, I have room for a couple more
7 – have you seen that test paint on ebay!
8 – what’s a grab bag?
9 – oh, I loved the grab bag livestream … have you heard when they’ll be in the store?
10 – they’re in the store!!
11 – have they lifted the one per customer limit yet?
12 – I wonder what Melody is working on now …That pretty much sums it up perfectly.
I did not get the allure of the poad genre AT ALL until I snagged a few tadpoads…then they multiplied. A lot. Then the young safari/hoppys came out and it was game over.
And you need a step in there for PYOs (not everyone’s thing but I think most people eventually want to give it a try).
Well done, etruscan!
And welcome to the forums, Woodland. 🙂
My my, #5 is crazy true for me as well. I’m gonna blame PrairieVixen, since she has a collection of poads that is constantly evolving, which means she usually has pretties for sale. I’ve gotten about half of mine from her. Another Tadpoad tonight actually.
Rylorian is right about there needing to be a step in there for PYOs too.
Welcome to our crazy part of the web Woodland!Love baby kirins, safari poads, mini keepers, and anything BLUE, BLUE, and, oh yes, BLUE.
I’ve got my collection of Breyer and Peter Stone model horses. My first love. I also collect books, and I justify that by rereading them all the time. Mainly fiction/trashy romance, but also lots of non fiction involving horses/horse breeds/breeding in general. My husband gave be a book for our first anniversary about different breeding practices and observations by a non horse person. TB breeding vs Standarbred for example. My family and I have also ‘collected’ a family of kitties. Mamma gave birth last year to four (!) females. Those four now hang out in our backyard and come inside for petting and loving before I dish out the canned food. All except one, she doesn’t like being touched, but will still get close. OH come on, where are the curlies???? Only jmoore, Bodine, and Stephanie have posted theirs. (Yes, I went back and looked) There has to be someone else out there with a conga! Come on, convince me I need another when the refund check comes in. Heck, everyone try to convince me to buy a favorite sculpt! I’m trying to make a wish list, and it’s just too long……..

OH my, she’s just gorgeous! And what a wonderful way to remember. I’ll say it again, Melody and the Windstone folks are awesome! They act like real people, not a corporation. It’s rare, and I know we all treasure and appreciate it!

Thanks guys! 😀 I went and bought another hipp because they are so awesome, and I have a winged wolf in progress too, but honestly I have no idea when I’ll be able to work on either. (My baby is due in just over a month, and right now all I want to do is eat and sleep.)
I keep meaning to make a new set of classified posts too, but that also apparently takes too much energy.
Eh, eat and sleep. If you get a burst of creativity, utilize it then. Just be mindful if that burst comes suddenly and close to your due date. It may be your first clue your little one is almost ready! Otherwise sleep is good.
