Wow! I can’t believe how fast those arrived. Do you guys live in CA / WA / somewhere close by? My delivery tracking was estimating my poad won’t arrive in Texas till Thursday even though I ordered on the first day… /pouts so jealous!! Anyway, these look great, a couple of those were definitely ones I liked / am hoping for similar ones of. Can’t wait to see more as they come in!
If we sent you a picture of something for inspiration / color inspiration with the understanding that you’re free to do what you want, would that count? Also I notice that you only list 4 sculpts. Are you fixed with those, or if we sent you another Windstone sculpt (like a kirin) would you be willing to paint it?
omg just reread this to see that Melody says the prize for this will be big and fabulous!? zoooomg. I also want to know the deets about if submissions will be “judged” or if it’s just an entry = random chance.
Woooow. This is really amazing. I’m about to start painting my second foo pup and I have to say this is pretty inspiring. I really love the way the bright blues and oranges contrast with each other.
Man oh MAN I really pray that I am not busy at work when these guys pop in the store. I want one SO BAD.

🙁 I will be at a disadvantage if they come out today or this weekend or even Monday. I’m traveling to visit a dog kennel so I’ll be pretty busy, not a good time to be trying to make a purchase. It’s funny, but it always seems that something comes up that makes me unable to participate when a grab-bag comes around. Ah, well; guess we’ll see what happens.
These are lovely! It’s really cool to be able to see a person’s collective work and watch them grow as an artist. 🙂
Btw, if you’re having troubles with pages timing out and losing your coding, what I always do is open up a word document and copy and past everything in before hitting submit, that way if something goes wrong I have a back up.
Blargh, I missed the sign up date too!! And I really wanted to do it this time. But maybe it’s for the best; I’ve only done one tiny foo pup yet and I don’t feel like I’ve really gotten the hang of it yet. Hopefully I’ll be ready in time for the next exchange in Spring. Good luck to everyone who’s participating; I can’t wait to see what you all come up with!
I feel very fortunate in that I really haven’t seen a painted design on any of these that I don’t like. I *prefer* the dart frogs I think, but there are a couple of hippies and butterfly-esque and even “tentacle” babies in the lot that I would like. So I think this is a definite yes for me. 🙂 Can’t wait!
I just would love to see the standing kirins either way with or without a stamp or pad. I like the soft pads used on the last fox grab bags. I would also love to see the unicorn colts come out in regular colours to match my production baby unicorns like white, black and silver grulla!
^ I agree with the above. Honestly, the bottoms to me don’t matter, I know who it’s coming from, and I’m not liable to resell/want to resell.
I’m also pretty excited about Snerl! I’d love to see his baby, too. And also a figure for the demon wolf in The Veligent. 🙂
A couple of the last posts made me laugh out loud. haha. I am guessing they would be somewhere between tadpoad and young poad pricing. I don’t think they would be as much as the young poads. I am hoping they are not over $100 personally as I hardly have any money left until the end of this month and there are a couple other pieces I also really want. I may need to sell a couple more pieces now. I have a dark silver red fox for trade or sale in the classifieds if anyone likes that one!
Yeah, 100 (preferably a little less, but that seems unlikely) is more like I would hope for… but I guess you never know/we shall see.
My perm address I’d probably have it sent to is in Texas (I’m physically in Japan still), so I’m not sure how that would impact sales tax, but either way, that sounds like a pretty fair price to me. I probably can’t actually commission / pay for it up front until November (I want to wait till after the baby poads post and after I get back from a mini vacation to meet a dog breeder in Chiba) but I’m definitely very interested.
I hope there’s more of these at a later date, maybe close to Christmas time. It was definitely out of my budget right now, but these dragons are stunning. I probably have too much blue morpho already but man I’d be willing to shell out for a blue morpho in the moon (and then maybe hope for a red or golden sun dragon sometime down the line…)
