I’m not exactly a bottle collector but I got some miniture bottles from an import store that was going out of business some time back. They stand about 3 inches, different shapes and colors and have little corks in them. I thought they were cute and picked them up at about 25 cents each. Whenever I get my camera, I’ll post pictures.
Love your paint job on the dragon and can’t wait to see the griffin and kirin when they’re finished! Looks like rich colors on that griffin–all these people here doing such great jobs on their first PYOs. 🙂
When I read some of the details murder/suicide came to my mind. He had multiple gun shot wounds and she only had one to the head. He was married and I’m guessing she wanted him to leave wife and kiddies and be with her. Well, I guess we can guess what the answer was—too bad. I was hoping this trend would stop when June was over–just not a good time to be a celeb. 🙁

Okay, here’s a little story–I apologize if it was already on here but here goes:
The old man was distraught…he was in his 80s and every year he used to plant tomatoes in his garden.
But alas, the ground was too hard and he no longer had the strength to till it. If only my son Vinnie was here, he thought, everything would be all right. But Vinne was in prison so the old man wrote to him:Vinnie
I have such a problem…this will be the first time that I will not be able to plant the tomatoes. The ground is too hard for me to till. Wish you were home to help–if only you were here.Vinnie wrote back immediately:
Dad, do not even think about planting tomatoes in that garden! That’s where all the bodies are buried!
The next morning the old man was awaken at 4AM in the morning by the FBI pounding on his door. They spent a great portion of the day digging up the back yard with shovels and backhoes but they did not find any bodies. So they gave up and apologized to the old man and left.
The next day he received another letter from Vinnie
Go ahead and plant your tomatoes, pop! I did the best I could under the circumstances.
For me as a newbie I’m just looking forward to the experience. Don’t know what to expect really, it just looked like fun so I joined in. I hope whoever I paint for likes what I do for them–just remember, I’m a newbie, I’ll hopefully get better! 🙂
My Poads–I have two and I have been known to carry one in another room with me. I’ve just sat on my sofa with a Poad on my lap–they are just soooo cute! 😀 So I guess our motto with this thread could be: HAVE WINDSTONES, WILL TRAVEL HeeHeeHee! 😆 😀
Hmmmmmm–can they be inticed like with the promise of chocolate at the end of their destination? :yum:
It’s so sad when you have to rehome a pet, but sometimes you have to do it to keep peace in your home and your other pets safe. I mean you tried and even rehomed the kitty with your parents. It’s such a pretty cat and it’s too bad you have to give it up. Sounds like this kitty would be better off in a home without other pets–like on here, how many homes would that be?!
That is good advice–you have the right to have insurance if you ask for it. Oh and by the way, remember that the Post Office or UPS will not honor a claim if they see that the item wasn’t packed right in the first place–so take Laurie’s advice and keep all correspondence! At least you’ll be able to get your money back from eBay. And…if I were asking a seller about shipping or insurance or anything else about the item I’m interested in and they don’t respond, that should give you a clue. Don’t bother!
😆 I like the big girl panties myself 😆 Also the recreational worrying comment! XD Unfortunately, this is her life and she insisted on being with this jerk who doesn’t care for her so what can anyone say? I’ve tried to be polite and tell her things but it goes in one ear and out the other! I figure that’s fine–live your life the way you want but don’t go crying on everyon’e shoulder when things get rough! Should have listened to all these people in the first place and you wouldn’t be where you are at now! I tell you one thing–from what I see on this forum, a lot of you who are much younger than she is have more savvy and common sense in your little toes than she will have in her whole body! Sounds mean but it’s the truth!
Oh for laughs I do have to tell all of you about some of the characters at my job! I was upset when she called but I’m fine now–nothing like venting on here and getting big girls panty advice 😆
Thanks, dragonmedley, any little info helps. We do have lots of electronic shops here but they specialize in general electronics–computers, TVs, DVDs, cameras, laptops and the list goes on. What I find with these places is that there is no one ‘expert’ on any of these items so you get a sales person only wanting to sell you what they have on hand and convince you that this is the best item for your needs. I used to have my photos put on CDs and that way I uploaded them on my computer for future use–believe it or not, this much I can do! I’d get these one-shot, throw aways but the store where I went changed hands and they are no longer encouraging people to go this route. Used to have places that specialized in cameras but they’re gone! So I figured there might be some forum members who were pretty savvy about this and could give me some advice. So thanks–any advice is appreciated! 😀
She was going through a rough patch last week and we did go out to lunch with the boss’ blessing. Someone made the comment that she sounds like a dramamonger and quite frankly, that fits her to a T. We both know what the score is at work so I was a bit surprised when she called about this. Of course I haven’t told the whole story and that would take up more time and space than I would want it to. I feel this is coming from her husband. He isn’t working, on disability and the feeling I’ve always got is that she is desparately trying to hold onto to him. He is 10 years her junior and hasn’t grown up. My boss even feels that he is using her and will eventually leave her if he finds something better. This is his mom they plan on visiting, so me thinks that this set back on the payment is giving her anxiety attacks because she has to confront him about cancelling their plans and he may not like that. Believe me, this is a sad, sad situation! But she has made her bed and she has to lie in it! I mean this guy is so useless that if something isn’t going right for him, he is on the phone to her at work to get it straightened out! I mean, he’s just sitting on his a** all day and he wants her to resechedule his doctor’s appointment or take care of an order he placed that is going wrong. Talk about useless! But when she does this and complains to me it makes my day suck as well. I needed to sit back and reassess the whole situation–she isn’t happy and wants to spread that misery to others if she can. Next time I’ll just let the answering machine pick up!
