I also think it’s a fake.
I’ve put opals in PYOs and Windstones before. It’s pretty.
I saw that one on ebay and thought why is that so weird looking with the dark paint and strange eyes? That could make sense if someone tried to make it out of a mold. Who was selling molds though? Were they counterfeit ones?
Who knows who was selling them? Someone with poor ethics. They are indeed counterfeit molds if someone is producing and selling them. This has happened before– most frequently with the male.
I have that exact same piece. I got it back in ’98, from a store called “San Francisco”. It was one of those stores that sells all the weird stuff, a lot of dragon sculpts, funny shirts, lava lamps. They had shelves of these, all young dragons, all in peacock. They cost $8. I got it because I wanted a windstone for my dorm, but I wasn’t about to leave a real one there (my fakie got stolen and ransomed several times!)
My first C’mas card from Melody! It’s beautiful, thank you!
Life is so unfair–things that are absolutely delicious are so bad for you–when was the last time you craved broccoli or brussel sprouts or anything healthy for that matter? I truly believe that when I die I will go straight to heaven because I’m living on hell here on earth right now!
I do. No, seriously, I do. I crave broccoli and salads, mostly when I have been eating too much of the Bad Food Group. 😛
I see a duck bill, and a snapping cobra!
My darling arrived today! (Alongside a cute little Tadpoad, posted separately!)
He’s a perfect match to Ponygirl’s – same coloring, but mine has blue eyes instead of brown, and green gems. Now, I will say, I was hoping for ‘anything except a dapple’ because I already had a dapple, and I am trying to limit myself to one of each color or pattern. I have one leaf, one lichen, one palomino, etc.
That said… I really like this little fellow. But I still only want one dapple… and I do prefer his darker mane and tail, to the lighter color on the baby dapple. My point is, I will consider trading – especially for the Grab Bag Baby.
Here’s pics!
Eee! My TadPoad and Colt arrived today! They were supposed to get here last Thursday, but I got no notice in the mail, which usually means they are stuck in customs. >.< So I was expecting a big fat customs bill … but there were no charges! I'm all happy! I got windstones, and no extra charges! 😀
Here is my little Poadie. I think I'll call her Pipsqueak. She starts green on her feet, fades into yellow around her tummy, into white on her cheeks, pink on her neck into purple on the top of her head. With a purple/pink/white tuft. Oh! And a faint silver streak on her back. Her eye spots in the black portion are bright teal, and the ones on her butt are dark green. I was hoping to get a poad with black facial markings, and I really like her! I probably won't trade her, but I might. I really like earthy tones, facial markings. I don't like the ones with only two eye spots.
Hmmm. I would say, do not separate them. It sounds as though the second mouse is grooming a problem area, and not causing the problem. If the first mouse didn’t like it, then you would have to consider separating them.
There are a lot of things that can cause rodents to go bald. Including mange. Ringworm can also be suspect. As well as food allergies, bedding allergies.
Have you changed food or bedding just before this problem starting showing? It may not even be a major change, it could be the same brand of food/bedding and just a new bag or package.
Ringworm is a fungus of the skin. Pretty common, pretty easy to treat, but rule out allergies first.
Ditto with mange. Mange usually only shows up in animals that have an immune problem, something else makes them sick first, and then the mange takes hold.
Congrats to you both!
Yay, got all my photos in! It was tough to pick which ones to use.
My little Eyeless Beauty is now up in the classified ads. She’s for sale. I spoke with Susie, and she said the new owner can choose their own eye color! Yay!
And yes, apparently when they lack a sense of sight, Poads do make up for it with increases in other senses. Namely, their Sense of Cuteness.
Well, when I pulled him out and he was still in the bag, I thought it was just the one eye and that it had fallen out in transit. But then I got him out of the bag, and both eyes are missing. There’s no sign of glue residue, and there’s no eyes loose in the bag or box. The package wasn’t tampered with, the brown security tape was still sealed.
I do hope I get to choose the eye color. (I will be contacting Susie later tonight once I stop giggling over this). I haven’t decided what would look good: I don’t even know what the options would be.
The poad’s colors are darker than in the picture: his sides are emerald green, fading to purple on his butt, and fading through blue-green to lime green on his head.
Woohoo! My poadie came in today! He’s very colorful and busy, and I think he is really adorable! There is just… one (or rather, two) itty bitty problems. I… can’t stop laughing. My poor poad!
*rofl!*
Edit… hmmm. I cant’ seem to find him in the class photo?
I have a question: Is it acceptable to take a photograph of a piece of art (a painting) that I did not make, if I have the artist’s permission to do so and use it in this contest? Or does it have to be a painting made by me?
I have so many awesome bird pictures in my computer – I love photographing birds. It will be hard to choose just one!
I don’t have any avocado pictures though. I’m … not even sure what that is, other than a type of… fruit? Or is it a vegetable?
I’ve love the chance to host a fuzzy, too!
