Even if they can’t replace the eyes for you, Windstone should at least be able to tell you the exact size for those eyes. I have a good number of glass taxidermy eyes here (I do dabble in taxidermy, but I also make little bird sculptures), if you want to let me know what size you need, I can see if I have any that are the same color as the eyes in my old green male, should be the same.

My art: featherdust.comAre we likely to see a male hearth dragon in sandgrouse? We got a female in carnelian, and we like to get each piece in different colors.
Rodney
The real question is, are we likely to see a male hearth dragon? To my knowledge, they don’t exist, not even as an in-progress sculpt. On another thread, Susie or Melody said this one got “female” included in her name to leave open the possibility of more varieties in the future.
Per Melody’s Facebook:
“People have asked about the possibility of a male Hearth Dragon. Well, this guy may be a little out of scale, but I made him around the same time. This isn’t the finished version. We haven’t found that one yet. It is still packed in a crate somewhere.”

It’s actually been a “strong suggestion” to never use “Friends and family” in our rules for a few years now, which one must agree to before selling on our site.

My art: featherdust.comJennifer,
Do you remember which gift shop in Texas it was that you saw the other one? I live in Texas and I haven’t seen one featured in a shop for many years, now, even though they were prevalent when I was younger. I wish Renaissance stalls would have them, I think they would sell great there. I love the happy ending to your story and I feel for you when you cried over the shop’s closing. That kind of heartache is all too real!I’m pretty sure it was a “Wicks n Sticks” at the Baybrook Mall in Clear Lake (near Houston). Those are long gone. It was 15 years ago now, probably.
At least one vendor at the TX Ren fest had Windstones, as one of mine came from there, but again this was over a decade ago and much has changed.Volunteer mod- I'm here to help! Email me for the best response: nambroth at gmail.com
My art: featherdust.comSharra, my story is very similar to yours. When I was a child, my family was not in poverty, but extras were not something my parents could afford by any stretch. Our small local mall had a gift shop in it, and yes, a front display with Windstones. I distinctly remember that they had several peacock dragons, and a kirin family. I’d stare at them for what seemed like hours (surely not, in reality), smitten with how realistic they were, and how they spoke to my dreams and imagination! Alas, my parents couldn’t possibly afford any of them for us, so we just looked.
When I was a teenager, I recall being extremely distressed when the shop went out of business. They discounted the Windstones steeply. There was no internet or social media or warning, just one day we went into the mall and most of their inventory was gone, with large signs posted that they were closing. I remember actually crying over it! They had two dragons left; a scratching dragon and a young dragon. My brother had enough money to buy the steeply discounted young dragon, and I so wanted the scratching dragon! I went home to see if I could gather up enough personal money (I was a bit too young for my first job) and went back to see if it was enough the next day, but the scratching dragon was gone. I lamented that I’d never be able to get a Windstone! Many years passed before I even saw another Windstone (in a gift shop in TX).
My brother teases me to this day, “How will Jennifer ever get a Windstone?!”. This is a joke because as fate would have it, I ended up working for Windstone! And to this day, the goofy scratching dragon is still very special to me.Volunteer mod- I'm here to help! Email me for the best response: nambroth at gmail.com

My art: featherdust.comCan this feature be added? I used to keep the PYO eye and gem size thread updated for everyone but can’t now. I’m guessing you can’t edit your info on the PYO commission thread either (which is why I hadn’t added mine yet… LOL).
No; we can not make things indefinitely edit-able. The fact that our prior version of the forum allowed it was not intended. Most modern forum software has time limits on editing old posts. I think I can increase it a bit.
Edit: I’ve increased edit times to 30 minutes.Volunteer mod- I'm here to help! Email me for the best response: nambroth at gmail.com
My art: featherdust.comYikes! This sounds like quite the complicated problem. This appears to go well beyond the leagues of simple computer advice or troubleshooting, and if what you say is true, firmly enters into the realm of law enforcement and lawyers. Regrettably, that’s solidly outside of the scope of what the forum can offer, and is actually against our rules. I wish you all the best, and you are welcome to discuss via private means.

My art: featherdust.comThe images are gone from this thread I’m about to link, sadly, but the first many empea dragons actually had more intense color, until melody toned it back. I have an “intense violet” emerald peacock dragon that is one of the first batches made, and the violet AND green on it is indeed very intense. Here’s a thread: http://windstoneeditions.com/the-windstone-forum/topic/intense-violet-emerald-peacock-dragons/
I’ve seen peacock dragons with the champagne color missing before (over such a long span of production, sometimes things evolved or shifted from painter to painter), but never have I seen an emerald peacock with the emerald missing. I could be wrong of course, but my best guess still has the middle fledge as a peacock.

My art: featherdust.comI think the middle one is a Peacock. Maybe painted by a newer painter, or after the factory moved and the paint sample was not handy. It looks as if the “champagne” layer of color was forgotten on it is all. It does not have any of the bright chartreuse-type green that they layer onto the empeas. Maybe Melody could say for sure.

My art: featherdust.comIf you use any cleaning agent (not recommended), I’d suggest rinsing it off very thoroughly. In the end, just the water might be preferable. I personally use a wire cooling rack, placed in my sink, with the windstone firmly sitting atop that, then use the spray wand…
Of course your mileage may vary, do so at your own risk!Volunteer mod- I'm here to help! Email me for the best response: nambroth at gmail.com
