I joined in November but I don’t think I ever introduced myself here, so here goes…

I have been a fan of Windstone sculptures since I first laid eyes on them in a gift shop when I was a kid (the Brown Mother!). Though I don’t have many right now (just three, white baby unicorn, gargoyle egg with legs and gargoyle egg with eyes, plus a broken large wizard who will need repair), I would love to finally get some DRAGONS(though any of Melody’s art would make me happy)!

I currently work as a veterinary assistant and I am studying for my technician’s license. I have a BA in Fine Arts with a minor in Psychology. I am an artist and my preferred mediums are stained glass, beads and colored pencil but I have worked in many others and plan to learn more! I posted a link to my Elfwood gallery in the Art section of the forum. I am married, have no kids but I do have house rabbits, African clawed frogs and an aquarium of tropical fish.

I love nature, animals, art, hiking, good food, and open-minded people, to name a few.

I guess that will work for now. Take care everyone!

Sent this to John already. I figured you lot might be interested in seeing this. I didn’t even realize it was one of Melody’s pieces until I did a search and the print of hers came up. (I’m such a Windstone novice with some things.) I noticed it a few weeks ago while looking for unicorn-y things for my sister. I guess you never know. The only down side is that it is used or vintage and the original artist is unknown.

Thank you everyone for your support! I learned stained glass in college and absolutely LOVE the medium even though it can be a bit dangerous at times (you don’t work with glass when you are tired and don’t forget to sweep the floor of the studio space before walking without shoes).

I have been in a bit of an artistic slump until recently (I hate those). One of my coworkers helped me by commissioning a new design (snail with mushroom sun-catcher). I didn’t get a pic of the finished item but I plan to make more because I like the design so much.

I have some new stained glass designs that I am hoping to get going soon. I’ll post them as I finish them (it may be a bit so don’t wait too avidly!).

BTW I have photos of step by step of the creation of the pegasus sun-catcher if anyone is interested. I’m not sure if I can post it easily here but I might be able to post a link somewhere.

          Have a wonderful day everyone!

Hi folks. I figured since there is this nifty section I would post a link to my Elfwood page. I haven’t posted anything new there in a while. I am working mostly in stained glass and beads (beaded sculpture) right now.

            Enjoy!

Well… The seller was excellent in response and gave me a full refund. I didn’t need to prod or poke. She did look into UPS claims but said it would be too much of a hassle to deal with them. Soooooo….

Now I have this shattered wizard in need of repair. I can wait. Um… repair peoples. What do you charge? If you need to email me privately please do. I don’t want you guys to start fighting 😀 . I will begin to dissect the box and wizard pieces when I get back from visiting with friends in NH. I will keep you all updated.

His arm is broken off, staff is in at least two pieces, there are large and small chips from the base and other areas, and there are many additional loose pieces. I haven’t completely opened the bubble wrap. I live in NY. Despite his damage I can’t bear to throw him out yet. He is my first big piece. I only have three right now (baby unicorn, and gargoyle egg with claws and egg with eyes). I have been dreaming for Windstones since I first saw them in a gift shop when I was in elementary school (the brown dragons!). I have always loved the realistic look and amazing quality of the Windstone sculptures.

The seller insured the box but didn’t mark the package fragile…
Still waiting for a response from her.

Thanks for all the kind words. I may take up someone in the repair option in the future.

                  😥
I bought a LARGE white wizard with the dragon on his shoulder (an ’86 model) from Ebay for a very good price. He arrived in PIECES! 😥

Is there any hope to try and repair him? I just got it and I just emailed the seller (I did ask that the seller pack it very well). It was wrapped in bubble wrap and the rest of the box was filled with balled up newspaper. ARGH!! Sorry, I just need to vent. I am sooooo disappointed. 😥

I was cruising around on Google for sale and found these. Interesting color scheme (peacock?). Are they close enough to be an infringement? I just can’t figure out who makes them. A lot of places are selling them online.

                    Have at it…

Are these close enough for reporting?

I’ve been off the site for a while. Every time I have seen these on ebay I know they don’t seem right. It looks like the mother dragon. Same position and everything. I will be happy to report it but I don’t want to overstep my bounds and be a pain. (and make sure I’m reading the copyright infringment stuff right).

The same seller has this one too for sale. It looks a lot like the male dragon.

There might be more in there. This seller has a large quantity of items. They have had these for sale for a long time on ebay…
