Ok, I’ll drop him a line about it. Just for, um, fun, I did a search for “windstone” on Elfwood and found a few more Windstone referenced arts. Should I send those as well? Ugh. I am almost sorry I even looked. πŸ™

My turn! Here are the critters. The rabbits are getting up there in age. Babylon (female/spayed) is probably around 8-9 years old and Early (male/neutered) is at least 10 years old now, though you would never know it. The rabbits and frogs were rescues. We have a freshwater community fish tank, too.

Babylon (on the left) and Early (on the right):

My African clawed frogs, I have three females:

This was Bunny-Head. He passed away in 2008 of congestive heart failure (only had him for about two years). I have no idea how old he was. I rescued him as a stray, the only one that ever ran up to me when I went to catch him. He was an AWESOME rabbit (not that I don’t love my other two). His only fault was that he was deathly afraid of dogs, perhaps remnant from his time as a stray. He is too cute not to share:

              Random question time…
Not that I am trying to be evil and tell people what they can and can’t draw…
What are the policies regarding people posting, lets say, a drawing of a Windstone sculpture and posting it in a gallery?

              Like this:
              http://www.elfwood.com/~turnbull/Scratching-Dragon.3303876.html

The artist does give credit in the description for her reference but I don’t know how that works with copyright stuff. Figured I’d ask since I am on a couple of fantasy art sites and I do searches periodically, mostly for inspiration and to see what other people are doing.

I think this is against the Elfwood rules anyway. I don’t like to cause trouble. I tried to talk to an artist (private messaging at that) regarding a picture that she had pretty much copied from a copyrighted picture (a Sue Dawe picture) and she got all up in arms and angry that I should dare to say she “copied” the picture (which she had and altered slightly a couple of things, you could hold them side by side and see). I was trying not to report her but she was taking credit for someone else’s work and not giving credit even for her reference.
*sigh* Anyway…I obviously have too much time on my hands at the moment. πŸ˜•

You should check out this page. It is pretty good. It is in the New Member Introductory area under “Useful Links.” Just change the “type” section to “All” or “Mint” and you can enter flap cat or cat in the search.

Wow! These are wonderful! Hehe. Another artist to stalk on Etsy until I ever get the funding and space for cool stuff. πŸ˜› Thanks for sharing. I love the Plesiosaur even though he’s not as complicated as some of the designs.

I can definitely join in on this big Thank You! Melody, your work has been an inspiration since I saw the brown dragons (a mother dragon I remember for sure) in the case at a shop, when I was a child. I probably still have that old brochure in my stuff somewhere πŸ˜€ . I am amazed and honored that you spend so much time here to answer questions, show us ideas and bounce them off of us, and hang out. It makes you more real (not that you aren’t, hah!). It makes me appreciate your work even more. πŸ™‚

Hoo-Ha! Here too. No smoking, drugs or drinking. I have tasted many drinks but have never cared for the sensation of the alcohol in my system. The beginning of my freshman year of college I attended my first and last “party”. Once I was done hanging out with all the drunks I helped someone get back to their room. He was so drunk he could barley walk without assistance. It was a lame night for me and reminded me why I chose not to drink.

I suppose I am a bit of a control freak, too. The idea of not being in control scares the doodie out of me.

I believe the mostly final verdict from Melody is that “kinglet” is not copyrighted.

It’s actually funny that you mention the birds because yesterday I spotted a pair of golden crowned kinglets on a tree outside my house! They are so freaking cute! They moved too fast for me to get a photo but there are pics on the web. πŸ˜€

Is “Kinglet” in reference to hatching baby dragon sculptures copyrighted to Windstone Editions? I ran across three hatching dragon sculptures on Ebay (which look nothing like yours, btw) that are labeled as hatching Kinglets. Just wondering if it needed to be reported. Folks on the other forum didn’t know the answer. πŸ˜•

We aren’t doing anything this year, at this point either. We have friends who have come the past two years with their toddler so we could go out trick-or-treating. Not so this year πŸ˜₯ We might have a party to go to though. We were lazy last year and dressed up in our Medieval garb. Easy since we are members of a reenactment group πŸ˜€
