I suppose I could go poke Melody’s brain on this. 😉 It can’t hurt to check, right?
October 20, 2010 at 6:24 pm in reply to: Report Windstone Fakes/Knock offs/Infringment Pls read first #708868Are “Kinglet” dragons copyrighted? (the name?) . Something I came across on Ebay. Just wondering.
Hi folks… I don’t know if you guys remember when I posted about my tragic smashed large white wizard (ebay seller didn’t pack it well). Well, I still have him in pieces in a box (I saved all the chips and pieces). I haven’t really spoken to any of you who do repair as I have been busy with everything else, work, then surgery, school, whatever… (still at home since surgery…not allowed to go back to work yet). But, now I have time to do this:
I have more photos of additional chips, scuffs and details of the damage but you guys I think will get the general idea from these.
Sometimes I find it difficult to locate my artistic motivation, then people remind me why I love creating art! Thanks! There are so many wonderful artists here. I love seeing everyone’s art (even if they don’t think it is very good). It gives me ideas and inspiration for my own artwork! 😀
Your favorite colors (up to 5): All colors (I’m an artist!) it depends on my mood
Your favorite animals (up to 5): Why must I pick? 🙁 Snakes, Lizards, Mammals, Birds, Insects (except for the parasitic kind)
Your favorite mythical creatures(up to 5): Dragons, unicorns, flying horses, hippocampus, Foo dogs
Favorite food (that can be mailed)(up to 5): Green & Black’s Organic chocolate (any organic or fair trade chocolate makes me happy), dried mango, cashews, good quality herbal tea, wafer cookies
Favorite flowers (up to 5): Anything that attracts wildlife, thistle, dandelions, cyclamens, African violets
Favorite gift (up to 5): Handmade sculptures (fantasy/animals/nature), art supplies (especially quality seed and cylinder beads), nature inspired jewelry, anything truly thoughtful 🙂
Favorite collections (up to 5): Rocks and minerals, fossils, bones(skulls!), feathers, realistic and detailed handmade sculptures (especially pottery)
Wonderful!! I love seeing the process as well as the finished product! Very nice work. *continues to wait for next update installment!*
Thanks! You’re making me blush! 😳
Fixed I think. Sorry about that! 😕
I love photographing fungi! I just can’t help myself. LOL Your photos (all of them) are lovely. I can’t wait until I am off crutches and can go hiking again!
After much ado I finally got up the guts to list art for sale on Etsy (I’ve only had the account for 2 years LOL). Stained glass suncatchers and beaded sculptures (dragons at the moment) are all I have up right now. Maybe I will post other things too but those are what I am most comfortable selling. I have to make more suncatchers as I am out of a few of my better sellers and I’ve been slacking on the glass work.
It seemed like something to do since I just had hip surgery a couple of weeks ago and I am spending an inordinate amount of time sitting on my butt! I can bead sitting down. Stained glass is not as easy to do sitting down, at least not for me.
If anyone wants to check it out, here it is: http://www.etsy.com/shop/RavencroftDesigns?ga_search_query=ravencroftdesigns&ga_search_type=seller_usernames

Despite your misgivings, your attention to detail (like the muscle detail) is lovely and worthy of praise.
Do you use wire armature? That may help. I have had problems with the fragile nature of some of the polymer clays as well (enough that I haven’t used them in a while). You also might consider mixing a sturdier polymer with what you are currently using. Polyform (makers of Sculpy and Premo) has a list on their website of the different products they make and the durability and moldability of each. It might be helpful to check it out (then again maybe not).
Good luck!
My brother found this one. It is not funny or silly but it is very well done. It’s nice to see one of these without the shock or shove-it-down your-throat.

Rats, Bats and Vultures used to be at the New York Renaissance Faire. I have a rat from them. I missed their booth last time we went (they weren’t there). I am so glad they are still around!
