I disappeared for a long time, but some folks here might remember Dixie:
She passed away almost exactly a year ago. She had been blind with cataracts since she was two, and when she was 10 years old we lost her to heart failure, which seems to be the typical way these poor little dogs go. She was such a sweetheart 😥
We still have Rebel, our Sheltie, who is now 5 years old:
He’s still coping with the loss of his dozy old “sheep” (Dixie was his “flock”), especially since the new addition to our family is much more energetic and out-going than he is. We got Rylee, our new Brittany/Brittany Spaniel last March, and Rebel is just now coming to grips with the fact that she does indeed live here and that she isn’t going away any time soon 😀
Puppy Rylee:
Grown-up Rylee (man these dogs grow fast!)

I think the winner’s general preferences are taken into account, but you don’t actually get to find out what exactly you’re going to get until it turns up at your door. The risk is half the fun! 😛
Oh wow, twin hot rod Poadsâ„¢!
Those are absolutely wonderful, almost as wonderful as the sentiment behind them 🙂
I’m Canadian. I’m used to the cold.
And even I think it’s been too cold lately!
My poor dogs haven’t been able to go out for a proper run in ages, they can’t be outside for more than a couple of minutes before they’re trying to lift all of their feet off the ground. First thing in the morning Rebel can’t even finish his business before he’s doing the cold feet dance all over the yard 😆
Man these guys are gorgeous! I knew that I wanted a male griffin before Christmas, but none of the colours that were out really worked for me…and these fellas turned up in the store. I was sold on them in a second. I’m such a sucker for browns and blues 😆
And normally the eye-less pictures freak me out…but for some reason this picture doesn’t bug me. Weird.
I’d love to see everyone’s griffin pictures as soon as they arrive home to roost. I have a male on the way myself, but between living in a really rural area and all the winter storms that we get around here I probably won’t see him until the middle of next month.
Male griffin? I’m so there!
I don’t know what it is, but when I first came here I was all about the dragons (and I still am) and now suddenly I’m totally in love with the male griffin pieces 😀
Yay!
I just got some more money from my birthday this past weekend, and I had just enough to order a male! He looks absolutely stunning, I can’t wait until he gets here 😀
I’ll keep a good thought for him, and I hope that he recovers soon!
Oooh, I like the idea of having a surprise raffle!
Although if I won I’d probably die of suspense waiting to see what would turn up in the mail 😆
I’m more than thrilled with the surprises that Melody offers us each month, I don’t think that putting in requests like that would be a good idea.
And don’t forget that you aren’t the only birthday baby this month 😛
I’ll be spending tonight home with my whole family: mom, dad and my two sisters. For a while it looked like really stupid boyfriend drama would cause one of my sisters to bail on us, but apparently she got over it and has decided to stay. We’ll be sharing a late-night New Year’s “feast”, just a small meal made up of the kinds of foods that we love but can’t afford to buy any other time of the year. Tonight we’ll have shrimp, scallops, some good cheeses, dips, fancy breads and some home-made wine to finish things off.
Here’s hoping all of you have a safe and happy new year, and that 2011 treats all of you better than 2010 did 🙂
These chicks are gorgeous! I’m not usually a fan of the little guys, but these are adorable!
Too bad I don’t have much money around. I have *just* enough for a male Griffin, which is what I’ve really been wanting lately, so I guess I’m just going to have to lurk in the shop and hope that these little guy’s parents turn up.
Oh man, I would die for a male Griffin in that colour! 😀
I even have the money for one if those chicks’ father were to turn up in the store one day! That never happens for me!

Yeah! We all went into work laughing about the mini-quake and talking about how it was probably going to be the most exciting thing to happen in months…and then 3 hours later half the town is in ruins 😮
