Email sent! Whew *big breath in & out*
Now, to wait and see what I get. I haven’t painted anything but a couple of foo pups so far, and the foo swap was my first PYO and swap. The foo swap was a major blast! So I am really excited about this one, but I’m also a bit anxious about my painting ability and making sure I can finish one of the more complex sculpts in the 7 weeks we have for this swap… 😛
January 2, 2013 at 2:13 am in reply to: 12/26/12 Batch of Grab Bag Young Poads picture thread! #890893Yay! I finally got to open mine a few minutes ago. I was out of town for a ski trip when he arrived on saturday 🙁 . I made sure a friend picked him up out of the mailbox and brought him inside right away so he’d be safe, but I couldn’t open the box to see what I got until I got home today.
I snapped a few photos but still trying to figure out how to post them, so will do that when I can. When I get photos up Hannah, you can use whatever you want to though.
I absolutely love my little guy! He has metallic green eyes, tiger stripes that have touches of teal, a black tummy and feet with little gold nails, a light pearl-pink stripe down the middle of his back, and for the rest of him, from head to bum his shades run from pink/peach, to orange, to green (basically sherbert colors; rather like a baby poad version of some of the ‘rainbow’ tiger gbb unis). In the class photo he is the third one out from the most centered poad that has tiger stripes and green eyes. Hes the one mother of dragons’s husband picked as his favorite in the original gbb poad thread.
*PS: Sorry to anyone else who had their eye on him, but he won’t be up for trade since he’s my first poad and gbb, and I really love him*
This information will also be great data for future swaps and christmas exchanges! Wonderful idea. 😉
Favorite colors: reds, earth tones, greens, blues, & purples
Favorite animals: all birds, cats, red panda, foxes, & lizards
Favorite mythical creatures: dragons, poads!, griffin, unicorn/pegasi, & fire cats
Favorite food: nuts, fruit (dried or fresh), jams, breads, & pasta noodles or dried soup mixes
Favorite flower: lily of the valley, gardenia, lilac, trillium, & iris
Favorite gift: windstones of course, books, jewelry or jewelry making supplies, music of any type (instrument, song book, cd, etc.), & anime
Favorite collection: Windstones, dolls, stuffed animals/fuzzies, metal animal sculptures, & assorted glass
Congrats! What a wonderful way to end and start the year!
I totally agree! Grab bag jackalopes that were smaller to keep the price at the $100 – $120 range and the shipping down would be amazing! I so want one!!!
*of course a PYO poad or jackalope would be awesome to both paint and for a swap…
Congratulations! Please share photos when you get him! What a wonderful belated christmas gift!
I was way glad I checked my email right after I got the restock notice. Pure luck but was finally able to get my first grab bag and poad! So excited! There wasn’t a single one that I wouldn’t love to get! Can’t wait until he/she arrives.
This was so much easier and fun than the past grab bag unicorns. I think it really helped that the notification email was the only warning that they had been released and that the timer was longer for checking out. I had no server or website crashes this time like I did with the unicorns. So happy!
*now my only concern is my little poad was order #6666 >) ; thats a disturbing order number to get right after christmas…* :((
Woot! I got my foop today! Pegasus4240 painted me the coolest pup! He has metallic teal eyes, and was tea stained and antiqued so is shades of medium-red brown with darker brown accents and some delicate gold sparkles! He is super cute. 😀
As soon as I figure out how to post the photos he will be up so everyone can see!
Thank you so much Pegasus4240! I really love him and wanted to make sure you knew I’d gotten him safe and sound. I may not get a chance to take some good photos and figure out how to post them until this weekend. So if you want, please feel free post photos of him now so people can admire him properly.;-)
October 8, 2012 at 7:26 am in reply to: A-FOO-FOR-ALL! An Epic Foo Swap! UPDATED OCT 2nd! TIME TO EMAIL ME YOUR PROGRESS!!! #887343Oh good, just like several others have posted, I too was worried as well when I didn’t get a response that something was wrong since I also wasn’t able to send a photo when I gave my status update; but since I didn’t get the second email I must be good (whew!).
I actually finished painting a fourth pup this morning and clear coated all 4 this afternoon while it was nice outside. Will glue eyes tomorrow and pick the best for the swap! 🙂
Probably didn’t need to paint 4, but these were my first PYOs, so wanted some options for my swapee…So looking forward to swap!!!
Wow! I love his coloring. Honestly, I think he is in my top 5 favorite PYO unicorns so far; with the way the green in the swirls picks up the eye color and shows off the gold, and the swirls follow the line of the body so beautifully! 😀
Agree totally! I would love to try doing my own horn in silver or the mixed metal autumn leafing/plating so I can play with some fall and/or winter color schemes! 🙂
Good Luck Kyrin! I’m sure everything will go great! 🙂

Any chance when the time comes that we can get a photo gallery set up so we can see all the different pups?
I had a windstone broken in the mail as well and it was also bought through ebay and insured for mailing. I notified the seller, sent them several really good photos of the mailing box and item showing the damages to the box and describing the damage to the item. The seller filed the insurance claim online with the post office. I did have to keep the box, item, and packaging contents until the claim was completed in case my local office needed me to bring the real items in to prove the claim & photos, but within a week the post office paid the seller, I got all my money back including shipping and I got to keep the item so I could fix it with no hassles and without needing to involve ebay. I was never asked to turn anything over to the post office…it all went really smoothly. Hope it goes that smoothly for you too!
August 16, 2012 at 5:19 am in reply to: Report Windstone Fakes/Knock offs/Infringment Pls read first #884903I just didn’t remember the small wizard having a pink ring, the base looked off (too small?), the dragon looked blobby and unfinished (no eyes)…the overall proportions just looked off to me, much more shrunken munchkin than those normally look in photos. Plus, the seller said it was a new Windstone, but only had the one photo and no other information…it just struck me as odd. Since I don’t own a wizard and it’s been awhile since I have seen them in person, I did compare it against the wizards in the store first too and it just didn’t look right to me. But john already told me it was probably real, just a really bad photo. Sorry for wasting your time, I just thought it would be better to report and be sure than not, but maybe I shouldn’t have. Sorry. 🙁
