There is a piece on eBay that looks like a bad repaint, but they don’t say repaint in the listing. The item number is 221631342199 and the link is http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mother-Dragon-Windstone-Editions-by-M-Pena-Retired-Vintage-85-/221631342199?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item339a41e677. I don’t know how to report it to eBay since it doesn’t seem to fit in any of the reasons they list to report it.

We are so sorry to learn about what you and your family are going through. There are apnea monitors that were used in children at risk for SIDS that monitored their breathing, maybe your doctor could arrange for you to have one so that you could sleep a little easier? It is no longer recommended for SIDS, but it would sound and alarm if your daughter’s breathing changed. We will add our prayers to the other being said for you and your family.

It won’t take my vote either, is the poll closed? Anyway – all of the choices would be fun to paint, but we would especially like the Hippocampus, Hippogrif, Oriental Dragon, Griffin and Ki-Rin. Thanks! 🙂

Merry Christmas to everyone there and on the Forum. :santa:

We just received our copy of that print!! It’s Great!!!!!! As a matter of curiosity, what is the griffin type creature? The closest I could think of was a Grifficampus – working from the hippocampus, but I really would like to know what you call him (or her) in this piece. By the way Vance and I grew up near seagulls that often talked to us just like that! 😉

PS: Any chance you know what their natural habitat is?

Yes, you got it right! It is a griffacampus. There is another sketch of a griffacampus in the “staff gallery -melody” section:
            http://windstoneeditions.com/content/griffocampus
They are at home out at sea, either in the air, on the surface of the water, or under it. Their front end floats on the waves like a duck, their webbed front feet paddle and steer, and the tail propels them along. They can dive and swim under water well. They fly just above the surface of the water like pelicans do.

            Thanks!!

Just curious, will any be available soon? Thanks!

                No.
Those pebbles are a “fail” so far.

I’ll take a “failed” red fox. Really. Honestly. I’ve desperately wanted one since I first saw them. Even have a spot picked out for it. If they’re a PITA to airbrush (wasn’t that the problem?), make them a PYO. Lots of us mostly use regular brushes. 😉

Ditto here! We love the pebble foxes and would gladly take them failed or not! The PYO idea sounds like it could be a lot of fun! Also, we’re really sorry that you feel they are a “fail” Melody, it is sad to hear you feeling down about any of your wonderful pieces.

Hi, Susie! My cart did not empty when I completed my purchase this morning. I tried refreshing the screen and it didn’t help. You asked us to let you know if there was still an issue so… :~ Love Windstone and Love Fuzzy!!! Marilyn

I don’t know if there are lighter babies available, but remember that the Lipizzaner horses, the famed “White Stallions of Vienna” are born either black or dark bay. Most of them grey and then whiten as they grow up. Your little baby may just not have grown into the coat color of an adult, yet.

Thanks for letting us know about the issue, but that has to be one of the happiest problems for a business to have! Vance and I are glad that you take the time you need to do your usual wonderful job, even if it means we have to wait a little longer. As always you are proving how much you and Windstone care about quality and communication. Thanks again!!

Jennifer, please continue using your talent to bring joy into the world!! Your comment is a brilliant description of the trap artists are often caught in. We have known other artists over the years who fight with this problem. It would be wonderful if everyone could afford every piece they wanted. When they can’t getting angry at the artist or company seems odd, maybe anger is easier than sorrow?

Riversgrace – How can you tell when someone is crating eBay accounts just in order to push the prices up? We would be glad to watch for that if it is something that can be reported to eBay in order to stop it.

I think that there is some reason to be concerned about this. This type of behavior can artificially inflate prices leading to a bubble, which leads to a crash. We’ve seen this effect so many things over the years from the Hunt Brothers and silver to the housing bubble, dot com bubble, stock market collapse, etc. While I’m not suggesting that the price of Windstone pieces would have a vast global effect, it certainly affects us, the people who love Windstone creations. Individual necessity happens, but if there are people using Melody’s art as a ‘flip’ to make money we all lose.
