Dragonslayer is an AWESOME movie for dragons, as long as you ignore every other character except for the old man wizard hee hee. I used to watch it as a kid all the time ^_^

sorry to burst the bubble folks but NONE of us can steal from Windstone!! We would destroy Melody’s trust in us and then she would NEVER come out with anything new. I thought we all agreed that we are family and family does not steal from family at lest not in this case.
To be honest I do not remember there being all that many boxes in the “archives”. I know it would not take me that long to go through all of them!! haha
I woudl not need any help either

You are just no fun at all πŸ˜›

Ok. Stupid question time! πŸ™„ I haven’t read the book, nor seen the movie so please don’t pelt me with rotten vegtables for asking some really stupid questions.

Who is Saphira and who/what is Eragon?

Saphira is a sapphire blue dragon and Eragon is a bastardization of Aragon :X I mean, Eragon is Saphira’s rider and was present at her birth so that they kinda bonded/imprinted

I haven’t seen it yet… I might catch a daytime showing for a cheap ticket, but I’ll only go for the eye candy.

This has been discussed before but Eragon as a whole makes me really sad… it’s just an example of how knowing the right people means you get ahead in the world.

Mind, I’m not trying to bash it, but for those so inclined, the following link may be of interest:

From what I’ve heard, the movie makes the book look good. Which is completely depressing! But, I do enjoy eye-candy… Hmm. πŸ˜‰

This review made me laugh too!

I share your feelings and my overarcing feeling when watching the movie was “This is like a copy of a copy of a copy” because it was this mashed together plot that rushed through everything and ignored whatever interesting subplots the original book may have brought in (which weren’t many, truth be told). If your source material isn’t particularly strong, the movie you make from it is going to be very vague and confusing.

I also wonedered why the elves didn’t have pointed ears and why at the end there, they were vaguely dressed like Native Americans, it was odd. But i seriously spent the whole movie going “AH THIS IS LIKE LOTR EXCEPT WITHOUT A DWARF AS COMIC RELIEF” πŸ˜† Also, my dad and i had fun refering to Saphira’s egg as a watermelon and the Dark Fortress as a big piece of lego :X

That said, like everyone else i think the movie was worth seeing just to see Saphira, she was adorable and gorgeous, plus i love Rachael Weiz (sp?) who did her voice ^_^

in reply to: Okay so can we say shipping scam? #517480

heh heh reminds me of the time i was looking for a soccer shirt (for Holland) on ebay and noticed this really cheap shirt for about 4 pounds – wow i thought! Then i looked at the charge for shipping – 30 pounds! LOL I emailed the guy “look, there is no way it costs 30 pounds to mail one shirt from the UK to Canada, i get you want to make a profit and avoid ebay fees but let’s work out a deal” and the reply was “my shipping fees are set, no exceptions” *chuckle* I said to myself “FINE THEN!” and kept searching

To me it seems like people’s personal experiences with shippers decide if they like them or not, not really who has better practices when it comes to fragile boxes.

USPS, UPS, and FedEx all ring my bell once and before anyone answers the door, puts the packages in my covered porch. Usually, when I hear the bell ring, I head down to the door and can see through the glass window. All three of these companies have employees that DROP my packages onto the floor of the porch, even when marked fragile. In fact, a Windstone with yellow fragile tape around the whole box seemed to get the worst treatment by the FedEx employee. As well, some employees just shove the boxes inside and seem to handle them somewhat appropriately. Thankfully, I buy very few Windstones off the internet so I don’t have the horror stories some of you have. Since I assume my packages will be mishandled, I expect the seller to package in a way that it will survive transit no matter who the shipper is.

Because of this, I pick the shipper I see as most convient, with no real preference. However, I guess if one is easier to claim insurance from than another, I’d probably suggest that shipper whoever they might be.

    Eek!

My normal mailman is really nice and once i mentioned that it would be great if he could wait a minute or two to give me a chance to get to the door (cos it’s a long way from my computer room or my room to the front door LOL) he always rings at least twice and waits about five minutes ^_^

I’ve not seen one in person (just going of web images), but a big give away between rainbow and emerald peacock is that rainbows have red on them and emerald peacocks don’t.

Oh and your links didn’t work right.

LOL my Male Dragon has pink rather than red but i think that part of the color spectrum is indeed missing from the emerald peacocks πŸ˜€
